"The Addison of Oakleaf was very nice and very homey. It didn't seem scary for the people going into memory care. However, the staff members were not knowledgeable, and they appeared very confused. They didn't know anything. They couldn't provide a price or confirm if they had any availability. I said, 'Can you please have somebody call me back?' They did eventually call, but it was after I had already filled out the paperwork for my mother to go to another facility. In all actuality, I might have gone with The Addison for my mother because it offered a reasonable price, and the facilities were very nice. However, their staff kind of dropped the ball in this situation."

"HarborChase of Mandarin was clean, light, airy, and spacious. They had lots of activities and amenities. The salesperson was very patient, very understanding, and answered a lot of our questions. The apartments were clean, also airy, and had lots of natural light. The kitchens were a little large. They do Bible studies, they had a book club, a men's club, a gym and workout area, a movie theater, a lounge bar, a billiard room, outdoor activities, an outdoor kitchen, two outdoor seating areas, and gardens."

"I went to The Windsor at Ortega. They gave us samples of different food items, and they were good. The building was super clean, up-to-date, and very inviting. The rooms were great. They were like little apartments with a bedroom, living room, and bathroom. They were very nice. The staff who assisted me was super helpful, very knowledgeable, and very kind to the residents."

"My father moved to Wyndham Lakes in Jacksonville. He is there for independent living, and we like that he has his own room. The cleanliness is pretty good, and the staff has great communication. I haven't eaten there, but he said the food is okay. They have a gathering room, a little store, a piano room, and a game room. It also has a covered walking area. There are a lot of things my dad could do to get out."

"I liked Brookdale Mandarin, but it was a little bit more than we were sure my friend could handle. They were a little bit more money because it is assisted living. I liked the atmosphere that they were throwing off. I felt like that's what my friend needed. The people seemed very friendly and caring. It looked like a nice place. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly. The common areas were very nice. They were very clean and very spacious."

"Brookdale Avondale was very, very clean. When I walked in, I didn't smell anything. The staff showed us the entire place, and it was very nice. I love the way it was set up because it felt like an apartment setting as opposed to a nursing home. All the doors were closed. They had addresses or names or some type of identity on every door. And I was just impressed. It was sparkling. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful. She was so patient and so caring. She was great. The dining room was clean. They had a library. Everything was clean, nice, and comfortable looking."

"My mother has moved into Sodalis Jacksonville. I like the fact it is a small community, and I like its interior. The staff has been there for the long term. Those are the biggest reasons why we chose them. I have tried their food. It is assisted living facility food, but I know that everything is prepared fresh from scratch, so that's really good. Personally, I would like it to have a little bit more flavor, but a lot of older people don't like that. Otherwise, it's great. We didn't do the efficiency room for my mother, but we did the one-up. Square-footage wise it's very roomy. She has two windows, a bathroom that's wheelchair-accessible, and spacious closets. Right now, they're providing furniture for us, because she is only supposed to be there for a short time. Overall, I think the staff is great."

"It was lovely. I think the people that work there were very kind, very caring, and very hospitable. It was a very nice place, but my father is not ready. I just have all positive things to say about them. They're very kind and caring. Even the people that I met on the weekend went out of their way to help me. They spent a lot of time explaining things to me and showing me things, and I really appreciated it. I have no complaints at all. My father had trouble walking and they even were going to be able to make accommodations for him to be close to where the dining room is, so I really appreciated that. They had a calendar with things every day. I was worried if he was there, he might just stay in his room, and the staff said they always go and check on their residents and try to get them involved in things, so they don't just leave them there. This would have been the one that I would've chosen because it was so close to my home and because I really just like it."

"I liked Sunrise of Jacksonville. I liked the openness of it. The place was very clean and it didn't smell like a nursing home or a hospital. It was very pleasant and everything was tiptop, as far as I could see. The rooms were good-sized, and the bathrooms were large with walk-in showers. I liked the dining situation and they had a room that you could get by yourself if you had a party for your father or mother. Everybody there was just super friendly. I've spoken to a couple of residents there and they were super nice. The one thing that stood out to me the most was that the young lady that took me around on the tour said, "We live in their world. We're here to help them in any way we can help.""

"Brookdale Southpoint was a one floor facility, which was something that I was interested in. There was not a huge number of total beds. Their memory care unit was secure. They have a shared living suite or a room for two, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted more of a companion suite where the rooms are separated. The tour was still fine. People were very nice and I liked the place. They had an activity room, a library, and LifeStations. I met one of the women that worked in the memory care unit and I really liked her approach on how she communicates and deals with the residents."

"I toured Brookdale Southside. It's a resort. If I were being retired and looking for that, I would put that at the top of the list. It has a pool. It has everything. The staff who gave the tour was very professional and detailed, and focused on what your needs are and what you're looking for. They're very compassionate. I've seen a couple of the residents' rooms and the model. It's very detailed, very clean, and perfect for what you need."

"I toured Better Days Senior Living. The outside was very inviting, and things were very clean and neat. It looked like someone's home when I walked there. The air was refreshing, and the residents talked to us as they came out. They were talking and very inviting. The staff came out, as they were going about their business. They introduced themselves and they welcomed us, and so everything was very nice. The staff was friendly."

"We went to Camellia at Deerwood for my ward. We liked everything about it, the staff, the availability of activities, and the socialization. The staff was very professional and engaging. They talked to the ward to see what her likes and dislikes were. They have a dining room where they come and take your order. They have waiters and you get to order from a menu, three meals a day. The rooms are nice and everything is airy. Everything is nicely carpeted, cleaned, and painted. My ward, who I took, has been adamant about not moving at all. And before we left, she said, "I like this place.""
