I am a resident of Brookdale Southside. I like everything, it's pretty good. The only problem I got is with the expenses. I enjoy all of the activities that they have. I'm in a poker group, which I enjoy, and bingo games and stuff like that. The food is average. My apartment is very nice. I got a 1-bedroom and it's very adequate, nicely arranged, and laid out. I got a balcony, and it's nice. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are nice.

I toured Brookdale Southside. I like that they had a lot of variety in housing. They had parking, which was very good, garage parking, and outdoor parking. The value was good. They didn't make their facility as high as some of the others. The food was average. The staff was very good. The upkeep was average.

I went to Brookdale Southside for my ward. What I liked about it was that the size of the rooms was larger than the other facilities I visited. The layout was good for getting around. It didn't have a pool and a number of my clients wanted to have pools. The building was clean. The rooms were clean. Everything was organized.

I toured Brookdale Southside. The staff that I did see around there just didn't look professional, but that doesn't mean they didn't do a good job. It just wasn't something that I was interested in putting my parents through. They have plenty of common space. They didn't have scheduled activities that they had. They could do crafts and things like that. The apartment here has another place that was pretty spread out, and if you had a hard time walking or getting around, you'd have to have some kind of motorized wheelchair or something because it was a maze to get around everywhere. It was all on one level.

I toured Brookdale Southside. The apartments were well-maintained. The staff is very friendly. They have a beautiful activity room and they have a calendar of activities. They have a theater room, a craft room, and a library. There's a one-bedroom with a screened-in balcony. They had a full kitchen and a nice-sized living room. It had a washer and dryer in that room, and they have a nice-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. The people there seemed very happy. In the dining room they have four-people tables. It was large, very light, and it's very clean.

I'm staying here at Brookdale Southside. The food is pretty good, but they are understaffed. They should improve their staffing. But for the most part, the staff here is friendly. We do all kinds of trivia, bingo, and travel. I have a studio room and it's just fine for me. They usually clean once a week, but that's when they lack staffing. If somebody calls in sick or it's a holiday, then you're out of luck.

I went to look at Brookdale Southside. I like the layout of the facility and the dining area. I was impressed with the rooms, the room size, and what you get for your money. It's a nice community. The apartments had a stackable washer and dryer. They have a kitchen with an oven that was available, too.

We toured Brookdale Southside. We did not care for that one. It felt more like a hospital. There wasn't a lot of staff, and we didn't see a lot of interaction going on. The staff who gave the tour were very helpful and very nice. The rooms were a good size and they had a very nice layout. It had that hospital feel. It was less like a community and more like a hospital.

Brookdale Southside's layout was a little better. The layout of the whole building itself with the ease of getting from one place to the next was pretty good. The staff were friendly. They were excellent interacting with the people. We didn't have any issues with any of the staff understanding my mother. Down in Miami, I visited some here, and there's a limitation with the language Spanish, but not up there, and so I was very pleased with that.

Brookdale Southside has a bright and cheerful attitude. It seems to have everything that one would need. The apartments are roomy, very nice, and very bright. It has a good atmosphere. The place is very clean. It is very, very good. Cleanliness is excellent. For activities, I think there were some paintings.

My parents will be moving into Brookdale Southside. Everyone was extremely friendly. The sales rep that helped me was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She was very appeasing to do whatever she needs to do to make sure that everything will be comfortable for my parents, and I really appreciate that. That's what made me decide on that one. The apartments were very roomy. I looked at the two-bedroom villa. It was just exactly what they needed to make the transition easier, from coming from a home to a smaller facility. The square footage is just right. It was extremely clean. The grounds were beautiful. I think they're going to be very happy there. The dining area looked very nice. There were a lot of different activities going on when I got there. Some people were in the lounge area. I'm looking forward to going back over there within the next hour and a half to see all the different things they have to offer.

I will be moving into Brookdale Southside. The residents were very friendly. The lady who gave me the tour was fantastic. She showed me two different places and told me about the amenities. I was very knowledgeable about everything there. I liked the fact that it was a smaller place, not a big one because I'm cozier and more comfortable with a smaller facility. Everything was just fantastic and very loving. I don't have to cook at all. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They do your laundry twice a week. They have a lot of daily activities. They have exercise classes. The staff members were absolutely friendly and very caring. They have a fenced-in yard with lots of grass and trees. I have a small dog, so that's good for him. They also had benches where you could just sit and read a book or whatever. The facility was very clean and well-kept.

I love Brookdale Southside, and I think that's where I'm moving. The apartment is nice. It has lots of storage. It has a washer and dryer in the unit. It has a dishwasher and a stove, too. And they have a heated swimming pool there. I looked at the menu and you have a preference for either lunch or dinner, whichever you want. They played bongos, I saw people playing cards, and there was a group that was doing chair tap dancing. They have arts and crafts going on all the time. The activity menu was crazy. There are so many things to choose from. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they had nothing but great things to say. They have a library and a game room. They have two different Bible studies that I'm very much interested in. The building is very updated. Everything is bright, shiny, and clean. It is also very secure.

We toured Brookdale Southside. They had two nurses on staff every day. They were not informed that we were coming, but they provided us a guide who was very informative. Of the four that we visited, I think they were the most completely staffed for the full range of senior services, everything from independent living all the way up to memory care. The rooms were quite small, and we only saw a two-bedroom. They had a courtyard and a small gym. They had meals there. No refrigerators or stoves, but they had microwave ovens.

I went to Brookdale Southside. It was very nice. The staff seemed to be aware of everything going on. I was impressed with the fact that the sales manager knew all of the patients' names; it was impressive. It seemed to be reasonable in cost. It didn't appear to have any hidden costs, which is what we were looking for my mother-in-law. They were very open. They answered all my questions. It was a good fit for a lot of people. In fact, I looked at this place before for assisted living for my own mother at one time. There were a lot of activities for assisted living. It was a clean and friendly environment. Had my mother lived long enough, I'm sure she would have been happy there. They had a beauty shop. With the memory care, they do all the activities right there on that floor, so there's not really a separate room. They have calendars posted as to what the activities will be.

Brookdale Southside was wonderful. It had everything my cousin needed plus some. The lady I met was very, very informative, very helpful, and showed us everything. The room would be perfect for him. It's going to be a one-bedroom. It has a screened-in porch, so he can sit out there if he chooses to, and he has a little dog so he can take the dog out right through that door. The dining area was very well set up and very clean. She gave us a month's sample of the menu and it just made me want to move there. They have tons of organized activities during the day. He will be doing some rehabbing and they have a facility there where he can do that. Plus walking is good for him. So, it met his needs. When we were waiting, the residents welcomed us, which was outstanding, too.

I liked Brookdale Southside. It reminds me of a resort. It looks like a resort, it doesn't look like a senior living facility. You have a nice, big, elegant dining room. It seemed like five star dining. Some of the residents that I passed by and saw seemed to be happy. Some would come in for dinner, they were walking, going from room to room, or from one place. I just like the atmosphere of the place. I like where the room's located, it's on the ground level. My mother wanted to be on the ground level, and they just happen to have a room there. They had a calendar they gave me and showed me the activities for each day. The staff was professional and nice.

I toured the independent living of Brookdale Southside. It was very large. I had hoped to find a place with a pool, and they had one. I remember a pool table area and a couple of recreational areas, but it was spread out enough that it just felt very comfortable. I liked it very much. They had a couple of very large dining areas and smaller and larger recreational areas. I especially like the fact that every room allows you to have an outside patio. I spent a lot of time there, and I was very impressed with it. That would have been my first choice if I hadn't found the other facility.

We didn't want to move into an apartment, we wanted to move into a house, and Brookdale Southside had exactly what we were looking for. They have the villas available, and then as we age or as we need care, we can move into another level of care. Also, you don't have to buy into it, unlike so many places where you have to buy in. Everything looked nice and clean and everybody was friendly whenever you drop by. It's just a nice place.

My mother is in the independent living of Brookdale Southside. All the people are very friendly, the people at the front desk are very helpful when she calls them for something. Their food has gone downhill since we first went to see whether we wanted her to go. It's a an old building, so the hallways are kind of dark, and my mother has a hard time seeing. They have a lot of activities available, and programs for people to get involved in. They have a pool, but I'm sure they're not letting anybody use it right now. They have a dining room, they have a nurse on staff if anybody wants one, and they have transportation to doctors' appointments or shopping trips.

The 98% of the staff in Brookdale Southside in Jacksonville has been wonderful. I have no qualms about the staff but there are other issues I don't care to go into. It's one of the reasons why we're leaving the place. They have good grounds and the staff is good. It's the corporation I don't like. I would love to give it a high rating for the staff but I won't because of the other things that were dragging them down. There are activities but nothing's going on now because of the virus. There's bingo, arts and crafts, and movies. The point is, this is about assisted living. The independent living residents are free to do anything they want to do over there but we're at the assisted living. It's a lovely-looking complex and it's well-kept but it's nothing special. They renovate rooms as they empty, but the bathrooms are nothing fancy and they're just starting to get the plank flooring in. For me, it's not much. They have a pool but everybody's in lockdown so you can't use it. They have an exercise room, but we're locked down in our rooms. The independent ones, who had the virus, to begin with, can come and go as they please while we are locked down.

My mom has moved into Brookdale Southside. The move-in experience is good. It was larger in size and more of a community feel, and it was very reasonably priced. The staff members are very nice. They have two or three specials for lunch and dinner along with a standard menu. The rooms are nice and large, and the facility is good. I don't really have any negative things to say about the facility. They have bingo, water aerobics, jazz aerobics, bridge, and movies. The food is average. Unfortunately, because of COVID and the fact that people are making more money sitting at home, they're understaffed because of those challenges in the food department. The people that are there are working very hard because they're understaffed.

I toured Brookdale Southside and the lady that gave us the tour was very nice, but it was a mixed community of assisted living and normal living, and it was a very big facility, so it didn't meet our needs. I'm not saying they're bad or anything, but it's just that that's how we felt.

I have toured Brookdale Southside for my mother, and it was fantastic. I visited both assisted and independent living. The overall experience was great, and it was a beautiful facility. I would have loved to put both my parents there, but my mother's health declined too fast, so nursing care became a bigger issue. The staff members were great, the rooms were fantastic, and the location was great for our family. I can't remember their activities, but it was one of the few that had an actual pool, which I thought was fantastic. It's expensive, but if you have the means, it's great, and I don't think you can find a better community. They served us lunch while we were there, and they had a nice variety of food. Their food was definitely specifically designed for older people and what they needed or preferred, so it was good.

We went to Brookdale Southside. The price was great, but when we came to the building and we met the woman that took us around, as we walked there were big nicks in the doors. I said to her, "You know, a lot of these need some attention." She said, "Yeah, we had to get at that." We left with a kind of a displeasure. The home was OK, it wasn't the best, but again, you can do your own thing in it, but we felt that it's there, that negligence right now, and not coming up to snuff with their properties, even though they were full. I think the price is getting people to go there, but if I have someone visiting me, I'd feel a little embarrassed if the place wasn't kept up that well. I made some comment to the lady that took us around, and I don't know if there was some impact to what I said to her, if she followed through on that to tell anybody that was above her or not. The location was good. The staff was pretty nice; she was pretty good. They just didn't keep it up well enough.

Brookdale Southside was great, I liked all of it. I liked it because they had a washer and dryer in each unit. The rooms were very nice and very well maintained. My visit to Brookdale Southside was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like about it was the hallways, the corridors, and the rooms were really dark. Other than that, it was a beautiful facility and the rooms were really nice. Cathy was great. The rooms had a full kitchen. It was very homey.

I toured Brookdale Southside, but they did not have the apartment model that I needed available. They had very friendly staff, they showed us the facility which was wonderful, they're very informative, and I like that they have continuing care capability. The staff who gave the tour was very responsive to questions that we had. The rooms were well-maintained, and between people who live there, they refurbish the whole apartment before you move in. There's also a variety of different models and floor plans, which is good.

My tour of Brookdale Southside was very thorough. It's a great property with great amenities and good living options. It's at the top of my list right now for possibilities for my parents. The facility was good and moderate sized, not too big, not too small. The living options were great from a villa style to a good-sized apartment option. The people were very friendly and very personable. Because it was a little smaller, I got the sense that they knew their residents relatively well. Everyone seemed very happy there. It's very peaceful. They were doing a little farmer's market while we were there, doing bags of fruit and flowers, and arts and crafts. It was a very nice atmosphere.

We toured part of Brookdale Southside. We went there in person and talked with the sales lady about the unit, she took us by the pool, to the pool house, and we met in there and talked about it. The sales lady was real nice, friendly, everything was clean, and looked nice; we were very impressed. They have a nice area out there where you can have a party if it's your birthday or something, there's a big cooking area out by the pool, and a big outside kitchen. We looked at the floor plans and everything, and that's where we wanted to be.

My father stayed in Brookdale Southside for five days. I told them that he has parkinsonism and dementia associated with parkinsonism, and sometimes he has hallucinations and sometimes he is kind of distant. It comes and goes, but still he has a form of dementia. I kept saying he has dementia so maybe we ought to do the memory care, but they said they thought he would do fine in assisted living. The first day when we were moving in he was alright because I was there until he went to sleep that night. The next day he woke up, he was delusional, he wanted me to call the police because he said that they're getting old people and holding them prisoners. On day three, he was alone and he fell down and busted his head. I had to drive him to the emergency room to be patched up. The fifth day he tried to kill himself so they called me to take him to the emergency room to have his stomach pumped out. At that point, he was transferred him to the psych ward at the hospital. Then Brookdale said we can't take him back when he comes out because he is too much of a liability risk. They kept all my money and now they sent me a bill. The place itself was very nice. The room was fairly clean when we moved in though I still had to clean some things before I would let him stay there. My father had a small studio that was very roomy. Food was alright. When we were given the tour we had lunch in the main dining room, but when my father was in the assisted living, he never went around to the main dining room. He just went to the one that was right down the hall from him. So our overall experience was a nightmare. Some of the staff members were really good but some of them needed to get another job.

We visited Brookdale Southside five years ago and they haven't changed too much except in price. My partner and I were impressed the first time. There was no place to store our tricycle, but I could make arrangements by getting a car cover. The apartment was very nice, and if we were on the first floor, we could have a patio. They had a walking area all around the facility. They didn't have a lot of places that you could garden, but they had villas where you can work the garden with the people that do the maintenance. They mow the lawn and make sure that the plants are being taken care of. Everything was good there. The staff was very pleasant and easy to work with.

We chose Brookdale Southside initially because they had a spacious 2-bedroom end unit with a wrap-around porch and a glass-in area of the porch. The bedrooms were spacious as with the living area, and this was one thing my father would be more comfortable in. We enjoyed a meal there, and the food was excellent. Its an older facility.

My grandfather is in Brookdale Southside. It's spacious and they have a lot of activities for the seniors. I like the layout and the good room size. They have exercises, games, trivia, and bingo. They offer two meals a day with his program and he has to either pay for the third meal or just make it in his room. They have a swimming pool, a gym, a library, a computer room, there's paths outside to walk around, and little outdoor activities around the lake. The staff is very nice and helpful. They just have issues with their cellphone connections, which is my biggest deal with them. It's a clean facility.

My parents moved into Brookdale, and we're relatively pleased with it. We've had a few issues regarding the bathroom facilities, and being ADA compliant, but they worked with us, and we've found a solution for it. We're very pleased with the staff, they're very friendly, and very helpful. It's accessible for the ones visiting, very appealing, but they're not yet participating in the activities.

I like that Brookdale Southside is a gated community. The residents have the ability to live alone in the townhouse apartment with a garage. They have the whole sweep of independent living, assisted living, and memory care. I met the manager and she was great, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly and knowledgeable. They do housekeeping and clean the sheets once a week. They showed me a 1-bedroom that they call a villa, and a 2-bedroom that looks like a condo.

Brookdale Southside is absolutely horrible. They charge you starting at $2700 for an efficiency apartment. If you get a bedroom, they want $3500. If you have a 2-bedroom, it’s $4000. You are charged for every little thing. It’s unbelievable. If you have any food delivered to your room because you can’t get out of bed, they charge you $4 extra for everything they have to bring to you. They’re already charging me $25 for each meal. We claim that that should be included in the $3500 for the 1-bedroom, and then you’re going to put $3000 down that you never get back or your kids don’t get back. Once you sign those papers, you’re signing one paper, but all of a sudden, a bunch of paper shows up with all kinds of horrible things on it. They have rules that are off the chart. For instance, on Saturday, you only get 1 meal between 4 and 5 o’clock. On Sunday, you get a brunch at 11 to 12. They could raise your rent anytime they want to, and on Friday, you can’t go to any doctor because they don’t do anything on Fridays. They don’t do anything after 3 o’clock. I was in the west wing. There are people in there that are so far gone with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, they do need individual help, but the system itself doesn’t give it to them. If you need help of any kind, they get Medicare to come in, and they have their private nurses from outside. They do nothing.

I am very satisfied with the staff of Brookdale Southside. The place has great programs. The only concern I have was they increased the rent this year, and it was unexpected. I am moving from a 1-bedroom apartment to a studio to lower my rent. The food is very acceptable. We have arts and crafts, chair yoga, and chair exercises daily, as well as Flex Your Brain which is a good program that we play. We have swimming exercises and water aerobics.

Brookdale was nice, we liked it, and it was clean and maintained. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms looked good and roomy.

I visited Brookdale Southside for my mother. Everybody I spoke to was wonderful and a big help to me. This was the place I chose for independent living; however, my mother went rapidly downhill. I thought this facility was very nice. The rooms were larger than any other place. It was more like a regular apartment or condo than what you would normally get in assisted living. They have happy hours and play cards. I like the fact they have a doctor and a podiatrist who come in, have an on-site pharmacy, and take people out shopping and doctors' appointments.

On January 7th the residents of Brookdale were told the water supply would be turned off for construction activities on January 10, 2016 at 9:00PM. After the water supply was restored the residents were advised to boil their drinking and food prep water for a minimum of one minute prior to using. Brookdale Southside offered to sell bottled water to the residents for $12.00 but did not stipulate what size the container would be. The "all clear" to use water from the tap was given on January 14, 2015. My concerns are multiple: This is a private paying community for senior living. Brookdale Southside has seniors in Independent living, assisted living and memory care. Independent living apartments have their own kitchens. 4 days without drinking water is a long time for this age group. This is a community of many levels of understanding and ability to communicate. Not all residents are able to or do go to the mailroom on a daily basis to pick a paper notice from management. $12.00 for water? I purchased my mother several 2.5 gallon jugs from Publix for $2.75 each. This is a population at higher risk for complications from coliform exposure than the average population. Since the water outage and ban on drinking the water was due to construction being performed by Brookdale, Brookdale should have provided the water free of charge to all residents. The dining room used paper plates, plastic utensils and paper cups while the water was being tested for potability. I am sure this was thought to be a convenience for the residents but try cutting a institution cooked pork chop with a plastic knife. Shame on you Brookdale for not taking the needs of your residents into consideration in this construction. This was more than an inconvenience. It was disrespectful to your residents to charge them for water (which granted they did not have to buy from you at inflated prices but not all your residents drive or can carry boxes of water) and poor communication on your part to make sure all residents were taken care of.

My father-in-law is in Brookdale Southside (formerly Carriage Club of Jacksonville) now. The facility seems very nice. I like the dining room, the rooms are nice, and the staff seems to be really friendly. They have swimming, happy hour for the guests, outings to dinner as a group, and cards. They offer to take them to doctors' appointments. They get two meals a day and one on Sunday.

I don't like Brookdale Southside (Formerly Carriage Club of Jacksonville) very much. My mother was in there for about 15 months. It's too big for people that have dementia -- too many people and too little staff. Lots of things that she needed for care were overlooked. I had to go in there and drag out all the stuff that hadn't been done. The staff was nice, but there was not enough of them. They're very expensive. They were getting $6094 a month for my mother to live there, and they charged me $450 when the doctor asked them to administer breathing treatments like nebulizer. I told them not to give them to her as I went to the doctor and asked something else to use. I was angry about that, so they shut it down. They had inadequate parking for visitors. There was a number of people who have pulled out of there in the last several months because of the food. It's institutional food -- really bad and flavorless. They overloaded with desserts. It's overpriced, and the food was lousy. I used to come to get her and I'd tell them in advance that I was taking her to the doctor at a certain time and I needed to pick her up at a certain time. I'd get there, and they hadn't told her. I wouldn't take anybody there, and I would not recommend them.

My wife and I stayed at Carriage Club of Jacksonville for three years. The facility was OK, but the service was terrible. I don't think the upkeep was that good, and there weren't many people there to help. The programming was very low. After being there for a year, they raise the rent on you. I guess the activities were so poor or the programming and the people available to assist in those things were all really poor.

We visited Carriage Club. It was a little bit simpler. It was very good too; however, it was not as good as the other place. It was not as luxurious as the other one. Carriage Club was also smaller, but you don't have to pay an entrance fee just to rent a house. You rent a house straightaway there. The places we visited all have activities, but this one doesn't have an indoor swimming pool. Activities were simpler. Food was very good. Overall, I think for the money, Carriage Club is a very good deal. If you don't want to pay the entrance fee, I think it's a very good place to go.

The Carriage Club of Jacksonville was a very nice facility. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that I was going to be stuck there. There was no way to really leave the facility because there was nothing else around it. If I even wanted to go to the convenience store, it wasn't around there, so that was one downfall plus my age. I have to be a hundred percent disabled to qualify to move in there. We ate lunch there, and I thought the food was excellent -- outstanding. The staff was very nice, and she has followed up numerous times with me and asked what my status was -- very accommodating. It was very nice, except that you'd be stuck in the facility with nowhere to go.

Brookdale is a nationwide facility. My mother currently lives in an independent living which is why I was kind of thinking she might need assisted living soon. They have an Alzheimer’s wing, an in-house doctor, and it has been wonderful living there for the last two years. It’s a beautiful community with great people and services. All the employees take good care of the people. I feel like I live there. The food was not three meals a day -- she doesn’t even like getting her own coffee in the morning -- but it’s independent living anyway. The dining room is open for lunch, and they get a one meal ticket. It used to be called the Carriage Club. I would recommend it for anyone who can afford it. I think it’s great, very safe, and they go to doctors and churches.

I went to Carriage Club of Jacksonville because a friend of my mother lives there, and it was very, very big. It was huge, and the lady who lives there has lived in several places and she really likes it a lot. They had lots of activities. It was a place that we visited, but not for my mother. It was not a good location for us, but I think it would have been very, very nice for her. It seemed either newer or recently renovated, and they had long hallways, but it wasn't quite as homey. I thought it was a little plainer and more institutional-looking, but the apartment was very spacious and nice.

Carriage Club is a very good place. It’s really nice. The only objection I had to it was if they had about fifteen or sixteen ladies there that worked for meals, they only had two people serve the food. Like my wife had a little difficulty feeding herself; but when one of the nurses stops to feed a person for quite a while, then everything exactly stops. There’s one person serving all the rest of them. If they put on, say, some of the young high school girls who want to be nurses, that’s the ideal training for them there and this would help expedite things. The kitchen's right there where you can see other things going and all it takes is if someone who could take a dish out and take it to a table. It takes no talent. It just takes a personable person who would like to know about taking care of other people whether they want to get into nursing or not. The food was adequate. It was all good solid food, and I thought it was pretty good. The dining room was a nice large area and it’s all new. It was well lighted. They have a nice counter there where people can sit. The facility was clean. When my wife went in she had a brand new room; in other words, you get what you pay for. She was there for two weeks and she liked it there. The rooms were situated nicely around the dining area, and so people got to know each other. I thought it was an ideal place. There was a patio where they can go out and walk around. When you look at the most qualified people personally and professionally, some staff was better than the others -- more sociable, I should say.

I liked that Carriage Club of Jacksonville provided independent, and then later on assisted living, and the activities that they have scheduled. My mother is in a two-bedroom apartment that is equipped with a full kitchen; it has a living room and a small dining area just off of the living room, an eating counter, and she also has a glass porch. The dining area is a full dining room; they offer lunch and dinner, but no breakfast. The facility is well-maintained. She gets a cleaning service once a week. The area itself has a full staff, and one director just for maintenance, so it is well-kept. They have a full-time nurse; she has made herself available to us in a matter of minutes when we call. The front desk is cordial; the management staff that we've been dealing with had been very, very helpful; and the general staff that is around, they make sure that they say hello to everybody. She would have picked another facility, but the key thing that drove her to pick this one was the full kitchen. You get thirty tickets a month for the meals and that is a negative. So, if you would eat lunch and dinner there, you would exhaust your tickets before the end of the month and then you would have to buy additional tickets, so it is unexpected expenditure for the residents.

Mom likes the Carriage Club of Jacksonville for my father because she saw that the staff were very nice, and the apartment would really fit him, as it would have enough room. The staff were very helpful and easy to get a hold of. The facility is only two stories high, and it felt very homey. You have everything you need there. They have a bank there, which opens two days a week, and a store where you can buy stuff whenever you need it. They also offer rehabilitation, and they have a fitness room. They have a doctor who comes in two or three days a week, so it is very, very convenient when he needs something. My father picked this facility, and part of the reason was that he felt comfortable with the place. I think if there's one thing they need to improve on, it needs renovation.

I liked Carriage Club of Jacksonville. My neighbor recently moved in there for about a month now and she recommends this facility. It's a large and busy community. The lady that I interviewed with was very knowledgeable, nice, and friendly.

I would move to the Carriage Club. It was phenomenal, like living in the Riviera. When a resident checks in, they actually have a little community of fellow residents that go and welcome them and make them feel like they're part of the community rather than just stuck somewhere. They become part of a family. It's just a really great environment. It's a fun place to be. They've got everything from transportation, drugstore, and library. They've got planned activities every single day for the residents. They're accommodating to the resident's special needs. All the residents were rolling away in their wheelchairs and their little scooters and they were laughing and flirting. It's all about having fun. It's a really great environment.

My parents live in the Independent Living side and have received excellent care. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The facility is well maintained and has been wonderful since I am 2500 miles away. I can call anytime and get information or help.

The assisted living area was like a ghost town. Very quiet- almost like a hotel setting. The nurses at the "station" very nice and friendly. The only action was lunch time when the folks who could, headed downstairs for lunch. This was on a weekday mid week. No camaraderie or activities in sight.
