"We have chosen Seagrass Village of Fleming Island because of its location. It just has what was right for us. The staff I spoke with was very, very nice. She was good. She went over and explained some of the things that we had questions about. She showed us around the facility. We have tried the food, and it was very good. The service was good, too. There were no complaints at all. We're very happy with it. There were a few things that could use tweaking but not much. They have a courtyard, they have a swimming pool, and they have games. They have several different things that we would like. They have a gym, physical therapy, and all kind of things."

"I visited Brookdale Southside for my mother. Everybody I spoke to was wonderful and a big help to me. This was the place I chose for independent living; however, my mother went rapidly downhill. I thought this facility was very nice. The rooms were larger than any other place. It was more like a regular apartment or condo than what you would normally get in assisted living. They have happy hours and play cards. I like the fact they have a doctor and a podiatrist who come in, have an on-site pharmacy, and take people out shopping and doctors' appointments. "

"I'm very satisfied with Sky Active Las Palmas. I like everything, and everything is fine, but I haven't been here long enough. I haven't participated in a lot of things. It's excellent. My room is always in good condition. If I leave the room, everything I go to is in very good condition. It's very clean. I never have a problem with anything. The staff is excellent. They're always asking me if I need anything. They're very, very good. They have a lot of activities. They have an excellent library. They have an outside pool, which we can't use yet. They have every kind of exercise class. They have a lot of games, card games, and socials. I'm eating three meals a day. The food always isn't what I like or whatever, but the food is very good. I have no problems. I've never gone away hungry."

"It was a beautiful place. I liked it. My friend would have had memory care there. I would love it for myself. The place was clean. The people that worked there were nice, pleasant, polite and willing to answer every question. They brought me around, and it was nice. The only thing was there were only very few in memory care and it was locked up. I don't know what my friend would do in there. They have a beautiful dining room for them in there, too. The rooms were beautiful and roomy. They have large bathrooms and closets. You could bring your own furniture if you want and your own items and decorations. I saw people decorating their rooms. The staff was very polite. I asked them questions. They told me everything I wanted to know. They're nice and friendly."

"It was absolutely spotless. We had lunch there. A young woman in a server's dress served us and the food was delicious. There was always an alternate to the menu that you could select if you didn't want what was in the menu. We saw four rooms. They had an outside balcony that wrapped around the whole building and they had access to every room on that balcony. The windows were huge. It was so light and sunny and the woman that we dealt with knew every person that we came in contact with whether they were staff or people who lived there. It was ten minutes from a hospital, across the street from a pharmacy, two minutes from a doctor's office, but there were no buildings on either side of it or behind it. So, it had a very private feel to it and the road that runs in front of it was just a two-lane road and there wasn't any heavy traffic. They had activities like bingo. They had a piano and there was someone who came to play while they ate. Sometimes, they have a small band playing for them. "

"I live in Starling at Nocatee Independent Living. I love the flower arrangements in the rooms, the layout of the facility, and the pool. I like everything about it. They have putting championship tournaments, bowling, music, art, and everything you would want. It is excellent."

"I went to Vicar's Landing. It is very pleasing, very clean, and very friendly. The business end was very clean. For me, it is just all-around better than any of the other places I visited. The employees were excellent. They're very business-like, interested, and friendly. The dining area appeared to be very nice. They have everything that you would need. They have lounges and a small bar, which I thought were nice; you could go there if you get bored. They have parties, a swimming pool, and walkways. The grounds are very nice. I only dealt with two or three staff members, but they were extremely qualified and very informative. I was impressed with them. Everything seemed to be very clean, very nice, and up to my standards. It was probably one of the better and more attractive places."

"I visited Westminster Woods last month and the facility ended up being the one that interested me the most. I am satisfied with what I saw. The apartments seemed okay. It's a spacious. The kitchen was really good. The environment seemed to be a very friendly place. The residents there started treating like family and I thought that was important. They seemed to have a lot of activities like bingo and card games. The staff seemed to be very friendly and helpful. I ate there a couple of times and I am okay with the food. The entrance fee is a little more reasonable than many of the other places. "

"I visited Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast. They have a new building that's separate from the assisted living and there were only three people in it the day I looked. They have to go over to the main building for all the activities and stuff. It has the memory care as well. They have everything there including a gym and a fitness center with machines. It has the feel of an Italian. They have a big area where every Friday night they make pizzas in the oven that they have right there. You sit out there to see them cooking and all. It's a gathering place on Friday night for people. I only really met the gal that took us around, and then just waved to people that we went by. It's topnotch. It's expensive, but it's brand new, and large. The outdoor was very nice. They have a garden, a little putting green, and an area for sitting out there."

"I liked The Coves at River Garden. It was very clean, not large, and had a lot of activities. I met the director. They had an indoor pool. The only problem is there's a waiting list of a year or a year and a half because it is small. The cost is about the same as the really nice ones, but you don't have to have a huge buy-in, which was very interesting to me. I saw a one-bedroom with a bath and a half, but the one I liked was the two-bedroom with two baths, which was very spacious. They had remodeled the kitchens with beautiful new cabinets and glass backsplashes, and it's very well kept. They had large walk-in closets that I liked. You get dinner, which is included in the rent, and they have lunch available, but you have to pay for it. They take you to the doctor and to the grocery store, and they have activities planned every day. I saw the independent, assisted, and the nursing home. The staff who toured me was very knowledgeable and very kind."
