"My ex-wife is in the memory care at Grand Villa of Palm Coast. I can't say anything, but good about it. It's a very caring group of staff. I was initially shown it and helped choose it along with my daughter. They've been very kind to her and helped her through it. It's very well cared for, and the food is good. I've seen what they feed her, and I can tell it's nutritious. She shares a room now. Initially, she wasn't, and it was a good-size room. It's in a nice area. It's not crammed in the middle of a city. The administrators have always been very helpful. It's top-notch, fairly new, and well cared for. Outside the memory unit, activities are probably a five. In the memory unit, they're mostly sitting in front of the TV, asleep."

"I took a tour or Ormond in the Pines, and my first impression was that it was welcoming. The grounds were gorgeous, and the pool looks very nice. The place was clean, and the residents seemed content and happy. Jenny was the name of the one who gave me the tour, and she was a very nice gal. The dining room was lovely; it looks very homey and very welcoming. I saw several postings of the activities that were going on, and it all looked nice, and interesting."

"My mother has been a resident at the Riviera Senior Living Center for several years and enjoys being there at their assisted living quarters. They also have on-campus facilities for independent living and nursing home options. The Riviera has old world charm, courteous and responsive staff, and great food. It is very convenient to shopping, hospitals, medical parks and just 5 minutes from the shores of Daytona Beach. "

"We visited Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast. It was all very nice and very well updated, but it was way over budget. It was like $4000 for what you got. But the facilities were very nice, but I didn't think that you got what you paid for there. The base price for the rent was way over budget and then it would be a plus level of care pricing, too. It was just going to be so far out of our budget that it was just not doable. The guy that gave us the tour was courteous and professional, but I don't think he was as knowledgeable as some of the other ones. They had amazing amenities. I think they put a lot into bells and whistles as far as chandeliers and crown molding and some of these things that made it look really pretty, but just because it looks good doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a better quality for your money. It was beautiful and very well maintained. There was a higher quality of finishes there than what it was for any of the other ones."

"Clyde Morris Senior Living Communities seemed like a good value. They had a nice-sized room. I looked at the two-bedroom apartment. They had nice facilities. They had everything but a pool. They had a washer and dryer, a physical fitness room, a lounge, and a balcony. The facility was brand new, so it all looked nice. It was clean and empty like a new apartment would look. The staff members were busy, but they were helpful."

"I lived in Allegro - St. Augustine for a year. It's very good, but it's expensive. It's physically a very nice place. It's very new looking, very well maintained, and quite physically attractive. There's nothing negative about it. I was very happy living there. I was happy with the food. They had trouble getting adequate staff though. When people ate, there were short waiters and you had to wait longer for the food. Except for being short of waiters, the staff themselves were very good. The other staff made up for the lack of waiters. Every once in a while, some of the regular staff would wait on tables just to try to help out. The people in the front office were wonderful. I went to exercise class every day and I loved it. The facilities were very good. They had a courtyard, a salon, and an exercise gym with not a lot of equipment. They had an exercise bike and a treadmill, and there was a guy there to help you."

"My wife moved into Majestic Gardens Living. It's a fairly small place. It's almost a brand-new building, and it's very nice and very clean. Her room is very nice and very big. The staff has been very good. They provide 3 meals a day. They're not gourmet, but they're OK. They have activities all the time, like bingo and board games. I would recommend it to anybody. It's owned by a lady doctor, and she comes in every day. She has a pretty good crew there."
