"Ormond In The Pines was very nice, but it's not where I want to live. Nevertheless, it was very good, informative, and helpful. The community was just fine, but I like it. There wasn't anything special that stood out. It was just a nice community. It was good and open. The staff was excellent. The facilities were clean and well-organized."

"I visited Blue Palms Senior Living of Deland. The tour was very good. The person giving the tour was very knowledgeable, and the place was clean. The apartments were small but adequate. The dining area was very nice. It looked like it encouraged people to gather there and to talk and spend some time there. It was welcoming. I'm really not interested in the amenities or activities, but they have quite a few. They have painting, crafts, and games. They had many things that would be appealing. We met different people who were sitting around outside enjoying the weather, and no one was at the front desk, so someone came in and helped us and got us someone to give us the tour. The people were very nice and friendly. The buildings were different. They weren't a high-rise or anything like that. They were spread over some beautiful land, and you could walk and enjoy yourself there."

"My husband moved into the Grand Villa of DeLand. They had a lot of things going on to keep people busy if they wanted to. They also have a salon and a movie theater. They have a lot of things to pick from and a swimming pool. The staff is very nice. The food is excellent. He has no complaints about the food whatsoever. There are always extra choices, and he looks forward to eating. He went to the salon, and they gave him a wonderful shave. Everybody was very friendly. It's a very nice atmosphere. The people there are very nice. Everybody always smiles and says hello."

"My mother-in-law lived at Woodland Towers. I didn't like the marketing director, but besides that, the place and everything else were great. The cook did a good job, and all the food tasted good. I was satisfied with the food and ate with her once or twice. It's a very nice facility. They had different spaces on different floors and two sides: senior living and assisted living. They kept the residents busy with enough activities to get them through the day, and the value for money was good."

"I visited the independent living community of Sky Active Sterling Court. It was one of the first places that was recommended to me. I went there and it was very nice. I was impressed. I like the location, and that it's modern and inviting. Everybody was also friendly. The person who gave me the tour was very friendly. She showed me all the amenities that they have there, and they were very nice. She took her time and was not rushing or anything like that. They showed me the outdoor space, but I didn't get a chance to see the pool area, since I can't walk a lot. She did mention that there was a pool."

"My ex-wife is in the memory care at Grand Villa of Palm Coast. I can't say anything, but good about it. It's a very caring group of staff. I was initially shown it and helped choose it along with my daughter. They've been very kind to her and helped her through it. It's very well cared for, and the food is good. I've seen what they feed her, and I can tell it's nutritious. She shares a room now. Initially, she wasn't, and it was a good-size room. It's in a nice area. It's not crammed in the middle of a city. The administrators have always been very helpful. It's top-notch, fairly new, and well cared for. Outside the memory unit, activities are probably a five. In the memory unit, they're mostly sitting in front of the TV, asleep."

They had a library. It seemed like they had everything they needed. The staff was very informative and very pleasant."

"Briarwood was very nice. They only have one place available. Everything else was all filled. It had everything I wanted: a galley kitchen and a good price. The staff was excellent. They were very caring people. They really wanted me to take the house and have me in that society. They have a nice big gym, classes that you can go to, a swimming pool, and almost anything you could think of."

"My wife moved into Majestic Gardens Living. It's a fairly small place. It's almost a brand-new building, and it's very nice and very clean. Her room is very nice and very big. The staff has been very good. They provide 3 meals a day. They're not gourmet, but they're OK. They have activities all the time, like bingo and board games. I would recommend it to anybody. It's owned by a lady doctor, and she comes in every day. She has a pretty good crew there."

"Crane Lakes is very immaculate and very well-maintained, and we just signed the contract today. The one we are getting is 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, and the view is terrific with small lakes and a clubhouse in sight. They have card and craft rooms, pool tables, tennis courts, shuffle board, and swimming pools. It has a restaurant that we can use. What we saw in the dining room was very well-designed; however we have to pay for the meals. We do our own meals at our own unit. The staff was great; it’s clean and beautiful. "
