"My husband is in Emory L Bennett Memorial Veterans Nursing Home, and we are having a good experience with it. They're very good for veterans and take care of them very well. I can't say one thing bad about them. They have 170 residents in a huge building with two wings called Alpha and Delta. In the center is a dining room and a big, covered and uncovered, half and half, indoor-outdoor relaxation area for them to go outside. They have libraries, beauty shops and doctors and nurses right there, so it's very convenient. I've never found a place that's any better. The food is very good and caters to veterans' needs, whether it needs to be ground, cut up, or whatever. The facility is very clean and neat, and they have buses that take them to places."

"I recently was a patient at coastal health anf rehab and i had a wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Therapy was amazing. Everyone is extremely nice. Honestly i didnt want to leave. I wluld highly recommend this facility to anyone. One of the best in the area! "

"My wife is currently at Solaris HealthCare Daytona. I chose it because of the rehabilitation that they offer. They do a great job in rehab. The rooms are very nice. It's a shared room, and they're usually wallpapered with paintings or pictures on them. The shared room has curtains that are helpful. The staff is friendly and accommodating with whatever you need. The meals are tasty. The only thing I would object to is the fact that they have a rotating menu, and it gets kind of old after a while if you're using the same thing over and over. They have very few activities, and it's usually one activity a day and they're limited."

"I am a 66 year old hip replacement patient and was there mid Sept 14 to mid Oct 14 and could not have had a nicer rehab or nursing staff "

"Terrace of Daytona Beach had a small number of residents in the assisted living portion, which is only 10, and during the course of the tour, the person who gave the tour seem to know them all. The staff seemed very accommodating and seemed to go out of their way to preserve the dignity of the individual residents, and those were all pluses. It's also nice because it's near a shopping area. They did not have their own independent transportation for a lot of out-of-resident activities. They do have a van that takes them to doctor's appointments. Their dining room and their dining selections were all similar to the other facilities we've toured. Their rooms were actually a little bit larger and nicely appointed. It's a clean facility. "

"Family was in there , on call bell for 20-45 minutes, nurses arguing with residents about what meds were given , nurses look like they are all in something "

" The Good Samaritan Society in Daytona among many other things is an assisted living facility as well. They are a shelter and provider of homes for the assisted living facility aspect, at little cost if any depending on your needs. Numerous people are always on hand to help out with anything you may need to meet your accommodations.The company is church oriented so if religion and faith is something you participate in, you won't be disappointed. You cant go wrong if this facility is your choice, as they have over two hundred and forty centers across the united states. I visited here and my stay was quite pleasant in my opinion. "

"Upon arrival I felt as though the security was minimal. I was able to walk in a side door in which there was no desk or sign in sheet. I actually had to walk to a nurse's station to ask for a sign in sheet. That made me feel uneasy because that meant that anyone could walk in and walk into a patients room and do only God-knows what to a patient without ever being detected. As far as the staff the appeared to be very friendly. I did not have much interaction with the staff though. My grandmother seemed to enjoy the nightly/weekly events that were offered at the nursing home. She doesnt have any complaints about the food. Another positive seemed to be that there were a variety of activities for the patient to choose from. Another area for improvement for the facility could be the way patients can be contacted or how they contact you. There is no direct line to patient. You have to call a portable phone in which they walk down to the patients room which is really inconvenient to the person calling and the patient "

"My wife is presently at Seaside Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. It is clean but crowded. Their staff members are good but some are not so good. It is a very busy place. I have never seen a nursing home that is so busy."

"Port Orange Nursing and Rehabilitation was wonderful. The rooms were very nice. My mother-in-law was in a shared room. She did not like the food that much. They had ice cream parties, and there were people coming in to sing. They had arts and crafts. It was clean. There was no smell. The people working there were very nice. "

"Most rooms are shared. The facility is generally clean. The staff on the floor is competent and caring although response time could be improved. The food is tolerable for being in an institutional setting. Better attention to meal planning for heart and diabetic patients could be observed. The real focus is Physical Therapy of course. These PT folks are top notch and extremely helpful when putting you through your paces, the goal being to get you independent again. The not the most upscale of rehabs but adequate for regaining independence."

"My father-in-law was at Grand Oaks Health And Rehabilitation Center for a short time and they were a really good rehab center. They had him on a hoyer lift so they were able to get him out of bed and get him back on his feet. So, that was good. They had scheduled times for him to be able to complete his physical therapy multiple times a week, they always kept up with his bathing schedule, with his care, and he never got bedsores or anything like that. They also had a very, pretty good menu, and they always had a great schedule of activities for their seniors to be able to opt-in and attend. They posted those in their rooms clearly so they could see what was going on each week. So, I liked that. They're also close to home. I liked their staff. They're very good people. I was there when he got meals and they provided a menu in advance, so he could choose what he was going to get. It wasn't just bringing you this and that, but instead you can choose what you'd like every day. If you're looking for a Medicaid or Medicare type of places, this is a good option for you."

"I received great care, the facility was nice and clean. Therapy did a great job at getting me back on my feet, I couldn't have asked for better treatment. "

"My mother is at Oceanview Nursing Center. She's there at the current time and as soon as she is able to walk on her own, she will be released. The staff are extremely helpful. Their rehab people are really skilled. The physical building is not much to look at, but they are amazingly capable – the staff are really, really good. "
