This was an excellent rehab facility for my mother. Therapy was amazing. The nursing staff absolutely top notch. Very caring and concerned for my mother. I met with the nurse practitioner who really explained everything regarding my mothers health. I cannot thank Coastal enough for the amazing heart and kindness showed for my mother ❤️❤️❤️

Horrible experience with admin and staff in 2021. Removed my mother after 24 hours. Do not bring your loved ones here. Truly a scary experience.

If I could have left zero stars I would have. Dealing with staff at Coastal has been an awful experience. They do not pick up the phone, you have to leave numerous messages and some staff are completely disinterested in the welfare of their patients. They deal with a vulnerable age group but have little compassion. Please do not send anyone you care about to Coastal.

My mother picked this place even though her entire family was asking her to go elsewhere. We have known this nursing home to be terrible for years and years and has had many different owners. This facility has some of the most unprofessional employees I have ever dealt with in my entire life. When asked what the facility phone number was (because google has all information wrong). I was told “google it” right after she just told me google info was wrong?! Not me or my family members have been able to reach her on the phone and if you want to visit her you have to wait 14 days and only with appointment. I understand about covid but they could be friendly when telling people they can’t come in. The place is disgusting dirty and messy. I have called to speak to her case worker 4 times and have not got a return call!! Totally unbelievable!!! My mom is now begging me, literally begging me to get her out of there... my mother said she would rather die then to stay there any longer. If you have any choice over where you out your loved ones DO NOT OUT THEM HERE!!!! Please don’t or you will regret it.

Care was not as good as I expected. My husband was left up in a wheelchair for long hours. P.T. was neglectful in their duties to try to get him to stand. Rarely saw an employee other than aides and higher ups were closeted in their rooms with the door closed. Never received an information packet on and. Had to ask for it. Terrible experience.

I would visit my cousin at Costal I feel I need to voice my opinion. Some staff were good. The few of the staff that were terrable were very terrable. Left an a bedpan for over 45 minutes when confronted with this was told by the RN that she doesn't do bed pans. Some had very bad attitudes and should not be in the health care profession. I have to say the therapy workers were very nice and very careing and most of the day nursing was good. The bad ones when you are expecting to get good care took away from the good ones. This is the second time my cousin was at Costal and I must say things have gone down hill. Concerned family member

Clean and the staff take great care of my Dad. Visited last week and they were taking residents to a local pool to swim. Always something going on for them to do, and I am very pleased with the care he has received for 2+ years now. Would and do recommend for great care and environment.

My brother is currently a resident at Coastal, and has almost completed his therapy stay. Excellent caregivers and therapists at this center. I love that when I visit, they always have an activity going on with the residents, and that the staff smile at you when you walk past them. Positive atmosphere for him to have therapy, and I would highly recommend to others.

My mother recently had a short rehab stay in this facility. The therapists and staff were wonderful, and the facility was clean every time I visited her. Mom's pulmonologist recommended outpatient rehab, and she is going to continue going back to Coastal twice a week for that as well. I recommend this facility for the excellent care that they gave my mom, and because they treated her like family.

I am writing in regards to our visit to Coastal Health and Rehabilitation Center. I was with my husband and mother and we all were very impressed. When we arrived, we were greeted by several staff member that were all friendly and eager to assist us in answering the many questions we had for them. My mother noticed right away how immaculate the facility was. My husband learned that they have 6 full time physical therapists on staff. I spoke with the residents and found that they were honestly pleased with their accommodations, treatment and the care takers. We were so amazed that they have an outdoor vegetable and flower garden that the residence care for; as well as the customary outings, art n crafts and holiday celebrations. After touring several facilities, hands down Coastal Health and Rehabilitation Center is the place we will place my mother when she is ready. Thank you all for your help and guidance.

Catalina, Coastal Health, Halifax Convalesant Center speaks for it self. First thing its is an unorganized staffed with some of the same people in the past Halifax Conval.Center unqulified Administration and short of staff with CNA'S Nursing staff and overworked. Patients receive MEDS late and lack of care because of staff, Restoreing Rehab needs an overhauling because of lack of quilified personel and the facilites hold departments are not organized lack of communication in the departments can't keep good help because no one no's what they are doing they are there just for a paycheck, food is very low key food temperture is poor and presentation of it is bad fly's be around in the dining room. lack of staff in housekeeping to keep the building cleaned and the building smell bad no kind of ordor detected installed and building need a lot of work done inside especially the room and the kitchen areas. Men share the same shower as women and the bedroom bathroom has an ordor coming from it all the times no parking when you come there staff parking where visitors and family should be parked and staff parking in handicapped areas. In my overall experience as I came in out of this facilitie as family member its under staffed and disorganized and some unqulified people call themselves running it but creating more problems than solving them.

I was a patient from 10/2010 ti 2/2011. While there they gave me another patients med's, the wrong dosage and when my blood pressure was 70/50 they tried to give me my blood pressure med without checking my pressure. Several times they wrote down my blood pressure without even taking it (they must by psychic). The staff will pick up silverware from the floor and give it back to the patient. When dealing with the business manager you must get EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING in writing. If she tells you something has been done or is pending make her prove it. When she screws up, and she does, she blames it on lack of working with a particular insurance company or a misunderstanding. When you tell her that something has not been done she says that you do not know what you are doing and that she is the expert with years of experience. She treats patients like simpletons and then show a concern that I find very fake. She says that she will look into helping with the problem that she caused and then just does nothing. When you take a serious problem to the Director of Nursing you get the results. All talk and no action. As I stated on more then one occassion I was either given another patients meds, the wrong doseage or a med that could cause great harm to me at that time. All of this was reported to the DON and I was told it would not happen again but it did time and again. The quality of the staff is based on which shift they are on. The shifts that do not have senior management around are not that great. They know they have no one around to watch them and I believe they feel that if a complaint is forwarded that it will be glossed over. Overall this place lacks leadership and commitment to the patients.
