"Long Hill Home is a beautiful, clean and warm place to call home. Management and members of staff are very friendly and professional, they make your visit very pleasant and of course they ask you to stay to enjoy a meal with them! They’re very hospitable. The rooms are all en-suite, clean and modern bathrooms with walk in showers. The environment and the view outside is so calming and serene! It is a beautiful home indeed!"

"I toured Carriage Green at Milford. The tour was fine. I thought it was really excellent. They have everything you ever need. The staff showed me three different rooms. The two 1-bedrooms were perfect. I wasn't interested in the studios, but the other two rooms were very large. They were certainly enough for one person and lots of storage. It was an excellent place. We went into the dining room. She explained everything to me, which was very nice. I thought that you had to have meals at a certain time every day, but that was not the case. Their restaurant was open all day, and you can eat when you want to. She also showed me the game room, the TV room, the conference room, the ice cream parlor, and the library. The staff was very nice. Even the people living there were very nice. When we walked through, they were very friendly. It was my first visit to that type of facility, and I was very impressed with it. I just have a lot of considerations, and I'm really not quite ready yet."

"My father is currently at Sturges Ridge of Fairfield. They have very friendly staff, wonderful activities, and a very caring environment. They also have a wonderful movie theater, trips to the beach, live music, happy hour, social gatherings, and a very nice dining room with really good food. I ate two meals there while we were looking, and it was a very good food. They have lovely grounds. It actually butts up against a high school football field, so they can see the kids playing on the football field. It's a very nice facility. Everybody's been very friendly and helpful."

"brand new and spacious rooms. staff is always friendly and happy to talk to. they know their residents and are welcoming. residents are able to enjoy interactive activities with other residents that are engaging and great for socialization. i recommend this community for anyone's loved one who needs assistance in their every day life. "Charter Senior Living of Orange is absolutely beautiful. It has plenty of options for what kind of room, how much care you need, and how big a place you need. However, it was a little over the budget at the time, with what Mom wanted to spend or what she was expecting, so it was a bit of a sticker shock, and so Mom kind of got cold feet with the whole thing. The people who were running the tour were great. They were fine. They did a great job. They showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to find out. The place was only a couple of years old; it was just a great place."

"Everyone is very kind. They know your name and what you need to help you out. The room is great. The interactions and activities are too. The meals are very good. "

"I toured Coachman Square at Woodbridge, and it was excellent. The memory care section seemed very organized and professional. The layout is very organized. It is in a busy section of town, so it probably isn't as aesthetically pleasing for somebody who would want to drive up to a nice country-style setting with lots of gardens and things; they don't have that. I think it's a little outdated. It had the overall feeling of not being a nursing home."

"Brookdale Wilton was very nice. It's not as new as some of the senior places we visited, but the staff was super. They went the extra mile. The man who interviewed me, Kevin, was outstanding. Even though he knew we'd be keeping my relative where he is, he'd still call to see how we we're doing. The rooms and the atmosphere were very warm and open. The people want to talk to you and they were just very nice and very different from the other places. The receptionist here was very nice and the people were really open. They go along with whatever you, as a resident, want to do and see."

"My dad has moved into Maplewood at Newtown. It has been excellent. I like the place, the accommodations, and the staff members. When I have a question or concern, they address it immediately. Food is excellent. Yesterday they have a Thanksgiving dinner that families could attend and I said to the girl, 'Oh my gosh! This is like a fancy restaurant!' But I see the common meals on a daily basis over there too, and certainly it isn't cafeteria food. She said, 'No, this is all high-level food.' My dad is getting adjusted and it is a slow process, but I know the activities are there. The price is higher rate but you get what you pay for."

"I like Motif by Monarch. It's very nice. It fits my needs. The location was great. The people there were great. The activities seemed to be good. It's an A-plus. They had a library and a gathering room with a bar, and that was nice. They can eat outdoors in good weather. Some of the rooms have a kitchen, and some of them don't, so it depends on what you need. I only interacted with one employee and she was very nice and very informative. She did a good job explaining everything to me. She was very knowledgeable."

"Maplewood at Strawberry Hill is a lovely facility and it is brand new. The design is much more conducive to seniors and I like the arrangement of their apartments. And of course, it's brand new so that definitely makes a big difference. The staff were very helpful although I didn't really interact with very many people. Some staff that walked by said hello. We have friends there and they said the food is very good. Their rooms, the windows are high enough that you can put furniture it. The walls also have windows so people can bring more of their furniture with them. And because it's new, you got new carpet, new bathroom and that makes a difference. "

"My former husband is a resident of Maplewood at Stony Hill. The place is lovely. The people are great. A couple of times he tried to get out of bed himself, and he ended up on the floor, but they call me every time he does, and he's not getting hurt. The staff is very nice and very kind. They're all good. The food is nicely prepared. In the summer when it's nice weather, he goes outside. They have a lovely patio, but they also have grounds. It's just really a nice place. I have no complaints about the place other than the fact that he was having to pay extra, and they don't take Medicare. These people do a nice job on the food. Unfortunately, my former husband is on pureed food, but that's okay. It's kind of cute because what they do is they make it look kind of like what it's supposed to be, in the right shape and stuff like that. This place has been top-notch. This place is lovely. They're just trying to keep them occupied and try different things. They have an arts and crafts room, and another room to play games and stuff."

"It is a very modern and up-to-date facility. The price is reasonable. The staff is very good and nice. They really care about their residents. My uncle is there now and he has a lot of ailments and they are a very good help to him. I really will recommend them to others. "

"Our family member has been at Maplewood in Danbury for the past 2 1/2 Years. When I was looking for a special place for dear Esther I visited 8 facilities between NY and Ct. I was just about to put a down payment at a facility when I met a visiting nurse who spoke highly of the care given at Maplewood in Danbury. She did not work for that facility so I thought that her feedback must be sincere. When I went on my first visit to Maplewood, I was not disappointed. The staff were very attentive to the residents. The regular assisted living floor was lively with activity & people seemed happy. I knew Esther would need the dementia floor and I was surprised how calm & nurturing that environment was. There was a resident who preferred to sleep on the couch in front of the tv and that was perfectly acceptable. The nursing assistant spoke lovingly about the residents, telling me they are like grandparents to her. I later met the Director of that floor, Patti who sets the loving example of meeting each resident’s individual needs instead of forcing them into institutional standards & rules. I also learned that Maplewood provides extensive training to better understand and care for dementia patients. That is very obvious when so see the care given. Patti is a very “ hands on” Director of the dementia floor and is often in the great room sitting with a resident or providing support to her staff. She sets the tone by example and all the residents benefit. The food and activities are excellent & they always seem to come up with something fun & creative for the residents. They take them on nice rides on their bus, even during the winter months. It’s not easy when a loved one’s memory is fading and she can no longer live on her own, but at least I have peace of mind knowing Esther is safe, cared for appreciated for her uniqueness !"
