"My mom has been a resident of Atria Darien for 5 years. She was quite independent when she arrived and availed herself of the many activities such as, lectures, movies, fitness, etc. She enjoyed the programs, made many friends and loved the atmosphere of the facility. She has a beautiful room and feels at home at Atria. Now, she requires aide and medication support. The staff have been consistently accommodating, helpful and lovely in addressing my mom's needs. I know that she is getting good care in a wonderful environment. "

"I did a tour. They took us to two different sites within the facility there. One part for assisted living and one part for advanced care. Some of the apartments have a kitchenette. They had a lot more activities and schedules. They have a beauty salon. They have more planned activities, and they have a rehab on site. The staff were very knowledgeable. They were friendly and welcoming. The residents were the same: very friendly and very welcoming. It was a nice experience. The facility was nice and clean. The grounds were clean."

"I toured Gladhaven Club. They gave me a nice tour. They provide three meals a day. The dining room and serving facilities looked to be perfectly fine. The housekeeping and the age of the facility were fine, too. I appreciate the opportunity to talk with the owner and operator of the facility. However, the sleeping space that I would be assigned to, because that was the only room available, was just too small for someone who is an independent individual such as myself. It's not a one-bedroom apartment, not even a studio. It's less than a studio size. I was taken to the dining room where they were beginning to serve some lunch, and I saw the outside of the facility, too. It's an old house from early the 1900s. It's sort of an antique."

"Bishop Wicke was a nice place and I liked that it was all in one floor. You walk in and it feels like you’re walking into little apartments. The location though was not good for my dad. "

"While Visiting here I found it amazing, as to how many activities they had to keep the tenants busy. While I was there, there was a barbershop quartet like group singing. To see the smiles on all the clients faces was priceless! I had the pleasure of pushing a wheel chair bound person to her "apartment". The decor in the halls has such a warm homey feeling to it. "

"The staff at Crosby Commons at Wesley Village is excellent. The food is also excellent, and the people are very caring. I have nothing but the best to say about them. My mother-in-law has been there for years. She has participated in a lot of the activities, and she has enjoyed most of them."

"My mother was very happy with Tower One; it’s just that their waiting list is kind of too long. I thought that it was really decent, and my mother was happy with it so I was pretty much happy with it. My mother has a sister here, and that’s why she likes it here. There are a number of activities you can do there. They have a little church, sometimes there’s bands, plays, and movies. "

"When my mother's illness got worse, and I knew I couldn't take care of her myself, we had to start looking at homes. We had looked at a few places before The Whitney Center but none really jumped out at us as being a place where my mother would be happy and well taken care of. When we first entered The Whitney Center I was very impressed by how much it looked like an upscale apartment building, the sort of classy place my mother always wanted to live in. My mother was very happy with the decor of the lower floors, and before we got a tour of some of the rooms, our guide took us to dinner in the dining area. The waitstaff was all very friendly and well dressed, and though they did not have the same rapport with my mother as they did with the other residents they treated her just as kindly. There were a lot of options for dinner and the filet mignon that my mother chose was perfectly cooked. She was very happy with the dinner. The residents too were friendly and very welcoming. For the last part of our tour we viewed the rooms on the top floor and there was a lovely rooftop garden area open to all the residents. The rooms were very spacious and came with full kitchens. Our guide told us about events that the center held every week, movies and music, and how they scheduled trips to the town center and the New Haven downtown area. We left that day with a very good feeling about The Whitney Center, and though we've been touring a few other places, I think The Whitney Center is the one we'll come back to. "

"Heritage Village is very nice. They have tennis, bowling, and crafts. The place is very friendly and safe. I would recommend the place. They have a library, and the public library is only a block away. They have men’s and women’s clubs. The staff is very courteous, and it’s a big place. "
