"I toured Holiday Farmington. I loved everything about the community and the tour. There was no reason not to choose them. The person who took care of us was knowledgeable and friendly and didn't mind being interrupted with questions. For every question, I asked some answers and wished they were different, but I could understand why they had to be the way they did. All their answers were good, and that's exactly the way I want to live. For right now, I would pick Holiday Farmington, it is gorgeous. The rooms were perfect, even better than the rooms I'm getting. There was a stove and refrigerator, and a full kitchen. They had coffee service all day long. Whenever you want a cup of coffee, you don't have to make it and have it alone in your room. You go downstairs, approach the machine, select your coffee, and sit down and have it. If Holiday Farmington were close, and if three years ago when I should have been going there, I would have moved there, but my special needs son is very important to me, and I want to be closer to him."

"I went to tour here. The layout was very nice. It was very spacious and very clean. The rooms were very nice in size. The staff was average. They have the same amenities as the others. They have a hair salon, a movie room, a dining room, a private dining room, and a library."

"I went to Maplewood at Southport. I think that was the most beautiful facility that I went to, it's the most modern, a lot of the activities they had been up to date like they provide them, Alexa, for all the different people in the community. They had virtual travel with VR technology. It had a nice courtyard area, and all the rooms were very nice also. The staff was great, and they gave me something to take to go."

"Bethel has the finest staff of professionals. Starting with their rehabilitation center. The staff evaluates the needs of each of there patients. They work together to achieve the goals they have set. It was a blessing choosing bethel . His achievements have been stunning. The nursing staff treats each patient as family . I could not ask for more. My family made the right choice. A facility is only as good as its staff. Bethel is the best. "

"I'm currently in the hospital, but I'm going back here. It's very nice, but they put me in a three room apartment when I couldn't walk. I had to remain in a recliner in the living room, so I never got to the bedroom or the kitchen. I would've been better off in a studio. The rooms were lovely, and the food was delicious. The people who brought the food were very nice, accommodating, and would help you. It's a lovely place to stay. I had to call downstairs to have somebody come up and help me to the commode, and sometimes the wait was way too long."

"The rooms at Brookdale Chatfield were very well appointed and very nice, not overly spacious, but certainly well laid out. The staff and the lady who showed me around were nice and very thorough. It was close to everything as far as shopping and the City of West Hartford. It was a very nice place. The dining room was very nice. They have a room that has billiards, a place where you can get your hair done, and a little gymnasium with machines."

"I'm living in a cottage here at Avery Heights. I've been here almost six months now. I just turned 70 about 2 or 3 months ago, so I'm one of the younger people here, although I have a friend here who is the same age. They're all nice folks that live here. It's the most active, independent living place I have seen. They interact a lot here, and they have activities. It's great. They have been here a long, long time, and it has a good reputation. Some of the staff members are excellent; some are kind of slack. On the whole, it's a nice community. I can walk up the hill and go to the big building, The Heights, and that's where everything happens. The food is good. It's wholesome. The chefs pay attention to what food they're using, but it's somewhat repetitive. They have a lot on the menu, but the menu doesn't change much. They have quite a few activities that happen once a week or maybe once a month. They also have places where they go 4 or 5 days a week; the transportation is always going somewhere. They have movies in the main building every day in the afternoon and evening. You can do all kinds of stuff. You can volunteer, too. They have a nice library, which I like. The value for money is excellent for me. Every cottage apartment costs differently, but mine is great. It's 625 square feet, which is small, but I'm doing what I can do here."

"I've been to Meadow Ridge at Redding for a visit. It's all beautiful and wonderful, but I can't afford it. It's very expensive. The apartments are gorgeous. They are very large. They have a full kitchen. They serve you two meals a day. It's a luxurious place. Most of all, they have some wonderful activities. "

"My mom is a resident of Keystone Place at Wooster Heights. It is very much a welcoming home. The residents and staff are very friendly, helpful, and supportive. They have a two-bedroom, a studio, and a one-bedroom. They have a good variety of apartments. They have a great program of activities. They have bingo, karaoke, happy hour, and movie nights. They have their own theater, library, and workout room. They do non-denominational church services. They have a lot of people that come in for activities to play the piano or sing. They have activities around the holidays. They do have painting classes and a lot of puzzles. It's all in one building, so everybody can intermingle. My mom is very independent. Although she has Alzheimer's, she goes down to dinner regularly. She gets three meals a day, which is good. She has a small kitchen, mini-fridge, microwave oven, countertops, and cabinets. It's definitely worth the money. It is a little bit expensive, especially now that they've moved mom into assisted living. But I would say we feel very good that my mom's there and secure. The nursing staff is awesome also."

"Whitney Center has a hotel like setup. It has restaurants, a fitness center, post office and doctors onsite. Everything was under one roof and you don’t need another facility. The staff was very nice. The rooms were spacious and it had a kitchenette. "

"My mother was very happy with Tower One; it’s just that their waiting list is kind of too long. I thought that it was really decent, and my mother was happy with it so I was pretty much happy with it. My mother has a sister here, and that’s why she likes it here. There are a number of activities you can do there. They have a little church, sometimes there’s bands, plays, and movies. "

"We’re going into Masonicare at Ashlar Village. My husband has Alzheimer’s, so eventually, he will be going into a different stage. Included with our monthly fee will be our electricity and all the appliances. They do housecleaning every other week. There is a meal plan if you want to, but we took a villa and I intend to do our cooking there. We have the availability of the dining room or during the day they have another restaurant where anyone can go into if they want to. They have card playing and arts and crafts. They have everything else that you can find in most type of organization. I know other people that have moved in there. It is very highly recommended in our area. This one has freestanding buildings either cottages or villas, which I like. You can have your own garage and laundry. When we opened the door to this place, it felt like I’m home. It’s a nice, huge place. They have apartments and some you can just rent them by the month. They have the healthcare facilities right on the premises. It’s convenient and it seems to answer all the questions. "
