"I toured Avery Heights. It was very well kept. They had two-bedroom living quarters, which were plenty of space. Their amenities were very good. They have a nice gym area to keep oneself fit. I couldn't say there was anything I didn't like about it. The dining room seemed very nice. The people I ran across there seemed happy to be there. The staff who helped us were very helpful and very pleasant. They have very good options for independent living. You could live in one of their apartments in the big building, and they also have separate cottages where you could live independently. The variety was very good."

"Both my parents were residents of Summerwood. As their oldest child I felt it was my responsibility to ensure they were in a clean and safe environment. Summerwood offered that but so much more. From the delicious meals served in a lovely dining room, to the in-house events, parties, entertainment and activities as well as the trips offered off the property, they could do as much or as little as they wanted. The apartments are lovely and brand-new looking. Mom and Dad's was kept very clean. On one occasion I was notified by the staff nurse that my Dad was ill and they handled getting him to the hospital. It was comforting to know that both Mom and Dad were always being looked after and I didn't have to worry. The staff was a pleasure to work and they went above and beyond to ensure Mom and Dad were content and happy. My parents also found the staff to be very caring and fun. I highly recommend Summerwood for your loved ones (or yourself!). "

"I toured Bluebird Estates. The facility is great, and the dining facility is great. They introduced me to the staff that does the programming, so I met one additional staff other than the supervisor. There's a gym, a library room, and a rec room. They have a lot of areas."

"My wife has moved into Brookdale Chatfield. I'm very satisfied with it. The living atmosphere is favorable. She has a very beautiful, large corner room. It has free window, a large toilet facility, and a shower. The staff is favorable. The meals are feasible. They do exercises, listen to music, they go on trips, and there's a TV room. The facilities are very nice and very bright."

"Our tour of Covenant Living of Cromwell was great. It was awesome. It was like a hotel when you walked in there. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was amazing. They had a cafeteria, a restaurant, and then they had a coffee shop. So there were three places you could go for a meal. They had a snack room, too. They allow you to have three meals a day, but it was like a credit card setup where they give you so much money every month and allotment for food. I think it was $300 for each person a month. The menus were awesome. The apartments were very nice. They even had a deck where you could go outside (each one had a patio deck). It's very quiet and you could bring pets if you wanted to. They had a movie theater, a music room, and an activities room where you could crochet or needlepoint or have any hobbies, you could do it there. They kept their residents engaged with a bunch of activities going on. We would have picked it, but we just couldn't afford it. It was a little on the high side."

"Holiday Quail Run Estates was nice. There were lots of stuff for the elderly people to do. They offered a lot of things to try to make people feel welcome. It was a great place. The staff was very friendly, answered all of the questions that we had, and was accommodating. The dining hall was nice. It had a waitress and everything. There were lots of choices and lots of people there. The food was good. They gave all of us a free meal just so we could try it and it was good. There's a pool table, a couple of libraries, and TV rooms. There was a huge calendar with events that were happening every day. They mentioned something about having even bands come in. It was a little bit expensive, but everything else was good."

"I toured Elmbrook Village. It's a newer facility. It's only about five years old. It's very well-kept. It was spotless. In the memory care unit, the patients had huge rooms. There were suites. I couldn't believe how big they were. It was nice. Their lobby was very elegant. The residents seemed to be very happy and I liked that they had a little area to salute for veteran residents. It was just really nice. I only dealt with Mike who showed me around. He was nice. Matter of fact, he followed up twice with me already, seeing what I was up to and what I was thinking."

"I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam. It was a very good tour. They had a couple of units available, and they showed them all to us. They would have worked out because they offered more services. It was a very pretty location. The facilities were very nice. We saw people doing all different kinds of things, and the staff was very pleasant. Everybody we spoke to was very nice and accommodating. And the cook came out to meet us and asked if we had questions. It was very nice. The apartments were very nice. They were one-bedroom units with bigger kitchen areas and full-sized appliances. I liked the rooms a little better. They were a little more spacious than the other place, although they were both in very nice condition. They had just painted and put new carpets in, and so everything looked very nice."

"Everything was fine at The Ivy at Ellington. It was all new and modern. Everybody was friendly and positive. The dining area was modern and had a good layout. I liked that they take their memory care residents out for field trips every other week. They have plenty of daily activities. They've got physical fitness, crafts, and movies. The staff was very nice."

"My mother has been in Welles Country Village for a couple of days now, and so far everything is great. The food is good. The room is spacious and pretty. It is newly painted and has new carpeting. It has a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchenette. We coose it because you can stay there once you run out of money. "

"I was in awe when I saw this place. I don't know what I was expecting but it was beautiful. The common rooms are all beautiful and varied with TV, computers, games etc. The two apartments that I viewed had new flooring and carpet. Peaceful area out back where tenants can grow herbs and flowers. The senior center is adjacent. Just a beautiful area all together. Very impressed. Eric, who showed me around, was very personable and helpful. I will be renting there in the very very near future. "

"My friend moved in. The facility is very clean and very new. The staff is very friendly, and they're taking very good care of my friend. It's very nice all around. The food is very good. I had lunch and dinner there. You get an appetizer, your main meal, and a dessert. There are choices and it's all very good. They have an area for movies and they have a community room where they do puzzles and other activities. Upstairs, they have a gym. They keep my friend engaged all day with people and not isolated by herself. I think they're doing very well with her."

"Arbors of Hop Brook was very clean and very updated. The place was very well kept. The decorations and the interior design were all very updated. It's very nice and very pleasant there. I went with the family, and we checked in. Whoever was at the desk was very pleasant, and that would be the only staff I would have had anything to do with. The food was good."
