"We visited Spring Meadows and had a delicious lunch there. Our waitress was a young, friendly girl. She engaged us, asked us questions, was very friendly and social, and we watched her interact with the community members. People's mood in the dining room was happy. They have older residents, a very nice salesperson, and had a very nice layout. My in-laws actually loved the layout of the rooms. They were bigger and much more spacious. They were just gorgeous apartments with laundry in the units, and a full kitchen, so you could just cook your dinner right there. The common area was great and had a fireplace. They had a library and a place where you can get a snack. It was a state-of-the-art, wonderful place and good for people who can afford it. "

"Covenant Village is very attractive, well-kept, and well-managed. The staff was very efficient and friendly. The highlight for me would be the variety of services. It was a good experience. "

"We went to Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam. It was very good. The facility itself was beautiful. It was spotless and well-staffed. The people that we met were all very, very nice. The units were very, very nice. We looked at a studio and a single room and they were actually really, really nice. They got everything you would need."

"This is a wonderful community. It is spacious, airy and open. The residents have a full schedule of activities and a lively Happy Hour every day. The staff are friendly and helpful whenever I visit. I see them interacting in a caring and compassionate manner. I would definitely recommend this community."

"We toured Avery Heights. Everybody in there didn't need any assistance as far as I could see, but it was very nice, comfortable, and pleasant. The staff was very pleasant and informative. They seemed to care about their community. The place was beautiful and very clean. My husband and I both said to the person who was giving us the tour that this is the place where we would like to live. They showed us the menu. The residents have a choice of what they want to eat, and it was prepared by a chef there on the scene. Their dining area was like an upscale restaurant. They even had a movie theater."

"Both my parents were residents of Summerwood. As their oldest child I felt it was my responsibility to ensure they were in a clean and safe environment. Summerwood offered that but so much more. From the delicious meals served in a lovely dining room, to the in-house events, parties, entertainment and activities as well as the trips offered off the property, they could do as much or as little as they wanted. The apartments are lovely and brand-new looking. Mom and Dad's was kept very clean. On one occasion I was notified by the staff nurse that my Dad was ill and they handled getting him to the hospital. It was comforting to know that both Mom and Dad were always being looked after and I didn't have to worry. The staff was a pleasure to work and they went above and beyond to ensure Mom and Dad were content and happy. My parents also found the staff to be very caring and fun. I highly recommend Summerwood for your loved ones (or yourself!). "

"Whitney Center has a hotel like setup. It has restaurants, a fitness center, post office and doctors onsite. Everything was under one roof and you don’t need another facility. The staff was very nice. The rooms were spacious and it had a kitchenette. "

"My brother and his wife have already moved into a community called Masonicare. The rooms that they chose are quite large and very clean. Their amenities are very nice also. The staff seems quite knowledgeable. Everybody, even the people we didn't interact with, were very friendly in greeting people. I have eaten there with my relatives, and the food was very good. We did lunch. It was served very nicely, just like a restaurant, where you're getting each course separately. There was one thing on the plate that my sister-in-law didn't care for and they asked her what she would like instead, and they were just very nice. Everybody is very pleasant. The grounds are gorgeous. They have a very large water area with fountains in it and a walking trail. They have a number of different meeting rooms and a library. Every day they have different activities going on. They also have trips. "

"It was a community of varying living options, like cottages and free-standing villas and apartments. They had all kinds of amenities. We had lunch there, and the food was very good. The dining room was very attractive. The residents we met seemed to be very happy and very enthusiastic about their living situation there. "

"My grandmother hasn't moved in yet at Tower One, but it is a nice place. The facility is clean. The staff is cordial and nice. They have a café. They have laundry at each floor. They have physical therapy and a doctor on staff. They have a hair salon, and there is like a little convenience store. "

"The staff at Bishop Wicke Health & Rehabilitation Center is excellent. They're very professional, always pleasant, and very prompt with any questions. I have no complaints whatsoever. The facility is very well kept up, very clean, and very welcoming. The grounds are beautiful too. They go out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible during the pandemic, which is surprising as it's a very difficult thing to do. They try to accommodate my mom as much as possible during the pandemic so that she can see her family. They have a lot of different activities. They have indoor activities and they're starting to have outdoor activities. They've done bingo, crafts, and outdoor activities for Mother's Day. My mom mentioned music, game playing, and some dancing that didn't include family because of the pandemic, but they are saying that they will be able to include more family eventually. I know that they said that before the pandemic, they were able to have picnics outside with the family, but as of now, they have not been able to do that. We have not been able to sample the food as family members, but my very fussy mom, says the food is very good there. We've made a couple of requests that my mom enjoys and they accommodated. They told us to just ask and as long as it's safe within her medication list, she can have it. I think we are getting what we're paying for. She's getting good care, everyone is very friendly. They remember, not just my mom, but each one of my sisters and me. They remember our names and who we are. They remembered to tell us my mom's needs especially because my mom has dementia."

"Crosby Commons (Wesley Heights - Wesley Village) is my top pick, although it's not a brand-new community. The staff is just amazing, the food is great, and the people are very friendly. They are doing work on the grounds and it looks absolutely amazing when you look out. It's a very active community, and it just seemed that everyone that's living there really liked living there. There are so many activities, it feels like the staff members like working there and they know all the people and call them by their first name. It's very clean and beautiful inside. They were redoing all of the grounds and also the inside."

"The staff at Crosby Commons at Wesley Village is excellent. The food is also excellent, and the people are very caring. I have nothing but the best to say about them. My mother-in-law has been there for years. She has participated in a lot of the activities, and she has enjoyed most of them."
