"I LOVE Mary Wade! My husband, the Reverend Godburn, was a patient there several times in the period from October to December 2014. Where to begin? If you need care, RUN to Mary Wade From administration to Nursing to Dining staff, Mary Wade is the best! Did you know, if you (a spouse) are there during meal time, you will be offered a guest tray? And allowed to eat with your spouse? I would be remiss if I did not mention their outstanding LOBSTER SALAD. YUMMY!! Who ever heard of such a thing? Did you know a ride to medical appointments can be arranged, if necessary? May Wade offers a wonderful, thoughtful, caring attitude, during a very stressful time. All of Connecticut should be very proud that Mary Wade is part of our state and community. There is no better facility in the entire country, in my opinion. "Senior Moments is an adult day care center recommended by my wife's physician. It is a very small operation and they probably don't have anymore than 20 to 25 at most patients at any one time. They care for both dementia and stroke patients. My wife has dementia. What I like best about this provider is the ability to see my wife in an environment where she is socially responsive to other patients with a staff that understands geriatric care. It is a complete program. They start with exercises in the morning through a series of various different activities from craft production to some intellectual and social ones. They have their activities published monthly and they vary from day to day, so it is a good one. Food, in my opinion, is very good, but my wife has mixed feeling about it. However, being a dementia patient, that's not surprising. My wife stays there from 9 am to 4 pm and she enjoys it because she has a lot of attention. There is probably a minimum of 3 and most of the time there is 5 staff members working in there. They all appear to be experienced with geriatric care and they do an excellent job. The only drawback for me though is that they would only pick up patients when they are within 10 miles of their facility and unfortunately, I'm 13 miles away. What I would like for this facility is for them to grow and expand. They have a large facility of which they're only using half of it, so they could easily expand by a factor of 2 or more. "

"My father attended the Orchard House for many years before having to go into an assisted living facility. I can't speak highly enough about the Orchard House. The staff, especially MJ, Stephanie and Lisa are exceptional people who have left a lasting impression on me. The care and support they provided for my dad were wonderful. Whenever I asked my father if he liked going there he always said the people were terrific and he liked being there.. They always had great activities that were engaging and stimulating. I found the entire staff to be caring, nurturing and attentive to the needs of my dad and the other people as well. I am grateful that my dad was able to have a caring, nurturing place with extraordinary people who took great care of my dad each day! "

"Partnerships changed my grandmother's life. She went from depressed and sitting in a dark room to full of life and awake in the morning dressed and ready for her bus to Partnerships. With a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, we needed help to maintain our daily work and school schedules but wanted to keep her living at home. Daycare was the best option and Partnerships' staff treated her with such dignity and love. The staff is amazing. I can't thank them enough. They have engaging activities and even help with showering. I highly recommend this organization. Plus the first day is free!"

"Its a busy place. My mom didn't want to go first then once she started to go she loved it. Thanks to the staff making her feel welcome. lots of activities and the Bird makes her very happy. the food also gets a good rating. "

"My mom is in rehab at St Mary Home. The facility is very clean. The people are friendly. If my mom needs assistance, they are always there, so I have no complaints. My mom is in a private room that's right next to another room, but they share the same bathroom. They have a room where they play music, and somebody plays the piano. My mother has physical therapy every day. She has a walker, but she's beginning to walk better. My mom loves the meals. She has insurance, so it was covered."

"Mother goes to Day-Break for day care, and the best thing is they provide bus service, which is a critical need for us. They do Bingo, exercise, and music. They serve lunch. They provide nursing and podiatrist services. They have a game room, a reading room, a TV room, and a big area for functions like Bingo, and any other games they might play. The staff is very helpful and nice and communicate very well with me."

"This faculty is top notch!! My mother in law has been going to the senior day program for a couple years now and the staff have been wonderful with her. She suffers from dementia and has done well here! Candace and Jennifer and Valerie are warm, friendly and compassionate!! I feel my mother in law is safe and in good hands! They offer me suggestions and always keep me informed of her day. They offer many fun activities , meals and my mother in law really enjoys the salsa dancing! Great place and great staff!!!"

"I been wanting to leave this place for a long time but realistically I I can't do it all on my own right now.If I could take Maggie and Allison with me I would do it .They both are Ambassadors here at Abbott. These girls work hard and they do alot for everybody. Allison always makes sure my hair is straight. Maggie got my computer working twice already. My aide Arlene be hooking me up too. I LOVE the girls here They are all hard works .Deep inside I still want to go but leave my Ambassadors and my CNAs .I'm going to just chill cause they got me and I'm good here."

"Sheltering Arms just didn’t have the best levels of services. It wasn’t quite on the level of assisted living, and that’s why it just wasn’t working for my mother anymore. I can say that it was a good place; she just needed more services. When she first went there almost four years ago, it was fine for her, but by the time she left, it just wasn’t enough for her. It was a good facility. They’re very clean; it’s just not for her at this point. They don’t do that much for people. The staff and I talked about that, and they were the ones who told me I would either have to get more assistance in there or move her, because they could not provide the services that she needed. The staff was very good. They were very nice, but they didn’t have quite enough, so they couldn’t give her the assistance with dressing, changing, bathing and things like that. They weren’t understaffed; it was their level of care. I knew that when she went there. Mom just got a little older and deteriorated a little more, so it just wasn’t right for her toward the end. She would’ve stayed there a few more years, but she couldn’t. It just didn’t have the services that she needed. They had daily activities as well. Because the high school is close by, they have volunteer students that would go over and do things. "

"My brother was at San Simeon by the Sound for a month and a half. When he first went in, he was almost legally blind, and he was a little off-balanced on his memory and stuff. When they worked with him, with the therapy for walking and the therapy that helped with the brain and paying attention, within four weeks, he has come all the way around. It was amazing. It helped him out a lot. He had a fantastic time there. The food was good. He liked it. When he first went in there, he could barely tell what was on the plate or where the plate was. In the end, he was eating fine. They helped him a lot and that's where we got the permission that if he has someone that can help him just do a few things, we'd be allowed to take him out. They were very good to him. He had a shared room with another person. You can go and play bingo or other games. There's TV all the time and they had special shows on, but he didn't do a lot of them. They had a lot to offer. I liked the staff. They were very good. It was very easy to get around. They had a nice patio outside. We could take him outside every day. Value for money was good."
