My aunt is doing fine in Holiday White Oaks. She is very happy there. It's wonderful and it's impeccable. The staff made us feel so comfortable, like a family. Their food is very good. My aunt has no complaints. The staff members are wonderful. I've seen the activities, and they look great. My aunt would definitely participate. Right now, she's on oxygen in her room, which is fine, but she doesn't have a portable one yet and so we're waiting for the oxygen people to come out and put her a portable one on her arm so then she can walk around and do the activities. Nevertheless, their activities are wonderful. The rooms are filled with people, and they're all so happy. They have wheelchairs and they have walkers, but they get around and they just want to be with other people and have fun, and that's just what White Oaks allows, and it's wonderful.

I toured Holiday White Oaks. It had the rooms arranged in the plot of land that they were on that allowed a lot of light into the building, so that was more appealing. But it's right off a very, very busy street, and they don't have enough of a sound barrier there, so that was not particularly pleasing. With regards to staff, they have a very, very energetic, outgoing marketing person, and she is directly involved in a lot of the programs they run there for their clients. She is very passionate about making sure that people have appropriate things to have during the day. However, I wasn't too impressed with the food. And even though programs are going on, it didn't seem like it was all very well-orchestrated or connected. And I wasn't sure if people were aware of where the activities were.

I toured Holiday White Oaks. It's very clean. The people that I met there were friendly. It looked like a really nice place for people who need to be supervised a little bit. This is independent living, but they have aides you could hire. The staff was very nice, too. I had a nice gentleman show me three apartments and told me everything about their services and their activities. On the second floor, they had a little game room, and they had a piano there. They have a library. If you have a lot of family over, you can use a certain area to cook and eat, and even order pizza if they want. They have a barber and a hairdresser area. In the summer they have a grill in the courtyard. They have picnics and the chef comes out and grills for everybody. And so it's like a nice little tight community.

I had an in-person tour of Holiday White Oaks. I liked it there, except for the food choices and the age of everybody. I didn't feel that I fit in. I saw more people walking around in the craft area, just sitting and reading in places. I was impressed by a lot of it. The tour guides were excellent, very nice, and comfortable, and went out of their way to try and find something for me and work something out. Money-wise, it just wasn't working. I saw they had a movie showing, which was nice. Everything was small. They showed me an apartment that was being used, and the woman who lived there gave me a tour of her apartment, which was nice. She hadn't been there that long, but she showed me how she set everything up, which helped me visualize what I would have to do. There were several ones in different sizes that they showed me with different price points. I liked the two-bedroom ones, so I have a little more room. The balconies were all different sizes. I was glad that I could pick one that would be better size-wise. They didn't have a kitchen on each floor. They had a lot of laundry facilities, and that was good. The facility was very nice, bright, and clean. The food that they gave me was very good, but it wasn't on the menu. I was told later that they normally won't do that. It was just because I was visiting that they did, so that's not good.

I toured Holiday White Oaks. I like the size of the apartments but the only kitchen they had was a sink and refrigerator. Every once in a while we would just like to fry an egg for ourselves, and they didn't have that. I was very surprised. They have a community dining area. The people that I met there seem to be very happy with the place. It's just unfortunate that we're still very independent, and we don't want to go down to or go to a kitchen for a cup of coffee. The common areas are very nice. The staff was good. Christy was very nice and pleasant. She did a very good job.

I have not found anything that I dislike about Holiday White Oaks yet. They were good. We are in the process of moving Dad in. The staff are super nice and super accommodating. The tours that we had were great. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They've been fantastic over there. Some of these retirement facility-type places are very busy with all their programs and stuff. This place still has a good amount of activities and programs, but it's a little less intrusive or invasive. It's a little more laid back. My father's not big on doing stuff like that and in a place like this, he's not going to have somebody beating on his door three times a day to see if he wants to go to play bridge or go to happy hour or whatever. He can go if he wants and if he doesn't want, he doesn't have to go. They have people on site that take care of people. So, they seem extremely flexible as far as their ability to provide care. If you need a lot of care right now, you can get it, but you don't have to sign up to pay for something the whole way through if it turns out that you end up not needing it once you're OK. My father's blind and that is one of the big issues. He is kind of new to it and getting answers about how he would be able to function and what he would be able to do and get around in the place, they were super good with that. They have a couple of other residents who are blind and they got us in contact with them. We had a great sit down with one of the other residents there who was sort of in the same situation and got to talk with her. She was amazing. Christiana is the woman that I dealt with mostly over there. I go on tours with her and she's fantastic the whole way through. I'm pretty happy with it. A lot of their units are pretty newly renovated and nice and everything's clean.

I visited Holiday White Oaks. The facility was very nice and beautiful. I was not necessarily a fan of the parking lot being in front of the building the way it was. It made it look kind of like a hotel, but the facility itself was gorgeous. They were updating some rooms. I saw an updated studio with a balcony, and it was very nice. The way the bathroom was set up was great. It had a mini kitchen with a refrigerator, a sink, and things like that for an apartment. They had a piano, a library, and a fitness room that had stuff in it. The people could get on the treadmill, which worked. They had the laundry set up very nicely, and it was fully accessible. It was very safe and clean. The lobby was absolutely beautiful. The staff was phenomenal. She was wonderful and caring. She even offered suggestions about things to look at for the units and how to make them feel a little bit more spacious, how to interact with my mom, and having a discussion with her about possibly moving and things like that. She was very knowledgeable and extremely accessible. Some of the rooms were a little dated.

I visited Holiday White Oaks. What I saw was independent living with additional care services as needed, which was nice. The interaction between staff and residents was very minimal. I was surprised, I saw three residents total while I was there. It was a nice facility. They're undergoing a full remodel nearing the end. There was still a lot of construction and remodeling going on. Some of the areas that she showed me were filled with furnishings and different things due to the remodel. It was very nice, the sections that were done. The person I met was very nice, offered a lot of information, and was very caring. I saw one resident doing a puzzle. The facility was pretty empty, and everyone was somewhere. They have a library planned, but that's empty right now and being remodeled. They have a craft room. They're doing carpeting and painting, so everything's cleared out, but what was completed is very nice, updated, and clean. We didn't go outside. There were some rocking chairs in the front of the building. I think everyone was hunkered down in their room watching TV or something. I was only interested in the studio. It was very nice and had lots of closet space. Kind of like a fair studio, it has its own bathroom.

We toured White Oaks in Manchester. I like the activities they offer and the community areas they have. The dining options seemed very good. They had movie nights, Happy hour, and every day they offered chair exercise. They have on-site physical therapy and they also have a library and a book club. It's an independent living and the staff who welcomed us was very knowledgeable, very nice, and very welcoming and accommodating. The only thing was my mom has limited mobility and there was a lot of walking for her. The available apartments they had were very far from the main entrance and everything so that was a little bit difficult to move around for her.

I looked at White Oaks. They had a lot to offer, they offered meals, they had the cleaning service once a week, and they had the shuttle service. It was nice because it was close to all the shopping, the restaurants, all within walking distance. For dad, it was good because he wouldn't have been as isolated. There was a Dunkin Donuts next door, and they had a path that went right through it. They had a salon on the premises, they had an exercise room, and they had another company that was right on the facility if you needed extra care as far as occupational therapy or anything like that or nursing, visiting, something like that. The staff was very, very friendly. She was sympathetic toward my father, as far as compassionate, she understood. She went in with the gloves on. She was very understanding of the situation. So she was politely giving him the tour. We had gone prior to that before we took my father. So we kind of had two apartments already picked out, but once we went down to the dining room to talk about the contract, it just went south. The price was reasonable. But depending on the size that you wanted the price went up. But for him, it was enough. Depending on the room that you had, you could have a view of the courtside. They also had a beautiful marshy area if you wanted that view. If you were in the front of the building, it was on a busy street, it had traffic, but it was convenient. If you were a shopper, or you like to dine. The convenience was there, for sure. Every Friday night they had a bar, they had to drink night, they had card night, movie night. They had a monthly calendar. They had a chapel, they had different denominations, as far as religions go.

White Oaks was great. The facility was incredible, and the staff was amazing. The rooms were super small though. The price matched exactly what the other place was offering, it just came down to it being too busy of an area for what my uncle could potentially handle if he was going to drive around town. Even though they offer buses or transportation, my uncle still drives. Manchester, Connecticut is a shopping area and it's super, super, super busy. I pulled it off the list based on the fact that it's busy for me to drive in. It was too much. It wasn't a fit for us. The facility was beautiful, very upgraded, and very new. All of the community areas were large, open, and spacious. We looked at studios for two people, which didn't fit us. If it was one for one person, it probably would be great. They had an open area for TV, a library, and a spot for physical fitness. They had a gorgeous dining area with a fireplace. They had music people come in and they had entertainers. They had two grand pianos. They were over the top. It was like a hotel. I was there during the meal and the meal staff was great. The residents seemed like they were happy and they were all eating.

White Oaks is probably where my mother is going to go. It was very clean, the people were very helpful, and the rooms were nice. They had an outdoor balcony that was very important to my mother. She wanted to have a balcony to sit out on and she wanted to be able to look out on nature. They had a nice library. While we were there, the residents came up and talked to us and invited us to do something. It was very inviting. She will be receiving nursing care while she's there. They call it independent living but they have nurses on-site, so we're paying for that extra. They have 24-hour people there, you just pay additional. The meals are included. It could use a little remodel.

White Oaks Manchester was very nice. It has a nice dining area, a nice library area, and a nice little gym area. It's an independent living and the facilities were very, very, very similar to the other places I looked at. The young lady that helped me, her name is Adore, was wonderful. I'm looking for a 2-bedroom, and so they showed me one of the smaller 2-bedrooms and that was fine. Then they showed me a larger 2-bedroom, which was outstanding. I think she said it was 1100 square feet or something like that, but it's a good size. They have a small outdoor patio that you can go out and sit in and it's private. Or you can come down and sit outside in the front where they have rocking chairs, tables, umbrellas, and things like that. I like that aspect of it. You have the option of socializing if you like. I'm a pretty social person, I talk to strangers all the time. You also have your own private space. I didn't get to see the menu but the snacks that the chef left for us were very nice. I saw a nice library, a game room, puzzles, cards and stuff like that. You can see there was plenty of those types of activities available.

My mom is very happy and settling in at White Oaks. It's a very nice community with a lot of different activities, socialization, and a nice group of women that she's gotten to meet as well. They have bingo, movies, and different things to do in the activity room. They have some trips too. She hasn't been on any yet, but they do some trips and things like that. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and the place is clean. It's close to home and it gives me peace of mind that she has someone available 24/7 if she needs it, and she's in a secure environment. Everyone is just very helpful and very nice.

The people at White Oaks were very friendly. They had a lot of activities. I had a nice lunch. The view in the back was really nice. It's all woods and there's a pond. There are places where you can go to sit and relax. Personally, the apartments were a little bit small for me. It was a nice apartment, but there's really no kitchen, and I understand why. I'm going from something that's so big and I have so many things; I think it's too much of a change. The gentleman during the tour was great. He was very helpful and very personable, and he really gave me a lot of information.

I toured White Oaks, and they weren't as personable as the other facility we visited. They were kind of standoffish, like they were better than everybody else. The attitude just wasn't there. One person was pretty cold too. There was one room that was pretty decent. It was a very good size and that one worked out pretty well, but the others were too small or too cramped as far as I'm concerned. The facility was also very clean. All in all, to get from point A to point B, it was a very long walk, which my husband can't do. We would have to definitely be on the first floor at that rate, so that way we could get around to the parts of the building. We didn't want our apartments down on the first floor so that was a no win situation there. They just need to try to be more people oriented instead of just having it showy. All the pretty pictures and stuff were all well and good, but they need to be more attentive to the people than the atmosphere.

The staff at White Oaks was not only friendly but accommodating, and the layout was kind of the environment that I know my mom and dad would be comfortable in. The rooms themselves had patios, which were really nice. It was something where my mom would not feel so confined, so having a patio was a big aspect of why we really liked that place. They were very accommodating. There were two people that walked around with us and they answered our questions. One thing I liked about it was that they had a driver that was available to take my parents to doctors' appointments on Tuesday and Thursday. It was a big piece, too, in making sure that they would have transportation to their appointments, and not only that, they offered trips, too. My mom is a huge fan of the casinos, and obviously right now with COVID they can't do much, but they had trips to the casinos. There are things that are really appealing that I know my mom and dad would really like. However, one of their commons rooms, which was a big room where everyone can congregate, was not as clean, modern, or welcoming as the other ones.

We have decided on White Oaks in Manchester for me and my wife because it's close to us and our family. The staff seems to be very nice and they take care of the meals and everything. There's plenty of rooms and they are clean. The dining area looked very nice. They have social distancing. They don't have a pool, but I believe they have a gym and a pool table and lots of things to do. The place looks good and it has an elevator. They seem to be very caring and polite.

My dad has adjusted well after moving to White Oaks. The reason we chose this community was because they had independent living. We compared this place to another independent living place, but the difference is around $2,000. So far White Oaks have been great. They have taken care of all his concerns and our concerns and will continute to do so until he's adjusted. Overall, they're fantastic. I had one meal there and I thought that it was very good. My father is a little picky considering that the food is bland at times but, you know, just add salt and pepper. The biggest complaint I witnessed first hand is that lunch takes a long time. We were probably there for lunch for an hour and a half. I would rate the cleanliness a four because he has a cleaning woman once a week, but when she was on vacation all of a sudden his room didn't get cleaned for a week. He hasn't really taken advantage of the activities yet. The only thing he has done so far was go to the casino, which he thought was great.

White Oaks was a beautiful place. Everything was very clean and there was no dust in the corners. It was very friendly and beautiful, and everything was included. The rooms were very nice and an adequate size. You could get a queen bed in the bedroom with dressers. The only thing I didn't like about it was you couldn't cook your own meals because there was no stove in the kitchen. The food looked nicely presented. There's plenty of things to do and you wouldn't be bored. The staff is very pleasant and friendly.

White Oaks was good. I was pleased with the cleanliness and most of the staff. It's a fairly new establishment with new management. They have been pretty good on their word and have rectified mistakes, so I'm happy with it. They claim that they have healthy meals, but they sometimes give sandwiches during dinner, so the food could be better. There's many different apartment options and we chose the 1-bedroom unit. It has its own bedroom, a living room, kitchenette area, and a bathroom. They have been very good and accommodating to her. I can look past the negative aspects because the care is good and she's happy there.

We visited White Oaks and decided that it fit the needs perfectly for my mother. It's a very lively, up-to-date community of seniors interacting with other seniors. The average age is about 74. The apartments we saw were beautiful and had balconies and patios. She is moving into a studio apartment with her own door to a balcony that overlooks a beautiful courtyard. The staff showed us the apartment types that we wanted to see and brought us on a tour around the entire building to show the amenities, which included a beauty salon, a library, a chapel, game room, dining room, and more. We experienced lunch, and the food was delicious. My mother is looking forward to moving here.

At Manchester Senior Living White Oaks, the rooms were done very nicely. In many rooms, people had a lot of their own painting or pictures, which I thought was really good for them to be able to bring things with them. We just didn’t think it was a good fit for us.

White Oaks is very clean and three minutes away from my house. The people that run the place are fantastic, and the staff goes out of their way to make themselves available whenever the residents need them. The dining area is very clean, and the servers are so accommodating to everybody. They have a salon, a chapel, a library, movie nights, and activities every day. I would highly recommend this place to anybody. The people are so welcoming and so nice, and it was an easy choice. The staff went out of their way to make the parents feel welcome, and they do a fabulous job. My parents had an issue with the cable TV while I was there and the manager personally went down there and spent 45 minutes on the phone getting it fixed.

I visited White Oaks. It was very nice facility, and we had a very nice visit. Unfortunately, I thought my parents had progressed beyond the point where they weren’t going to be looking at independent living and would probably need assisted living. The staff was excellent, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. The rooms were very nice as well. We were able to see the dining room, but we did not have time to try the food. My family member has lived there several years. Quality seems to have deteriorated. The current managers are warm on the surface, but difficult especially to employees. The good chef was fired last year and replaced with months of temporaries. Food now is scanty and low quality. The goal seems to be outward appearance rather than real concern for the residents. Hopefully new managers will be appointed who will restore the previous warm environment.

White Oaks was a beautiful facility. It was very clean. My parent thought it was a wonderful place as far as cleanliness and friendliness. There were plants and benches to sit on in front. It was a pristine-looking place and it was homey. It was also too expensive. It was unaffordable for her budget. A two-bedroom was almost like $5000 a month and to go in a little apartment for that much money, I would have to say no. I also asked them what happens if she runs out of money, they said she would have to leave but they'll try to find her some place. That's not good. Older people don't want to move, they want to find a place that they're going to enjoy and it's a trauma for them to move. We were invited to White Oaks for a 100-year-old birthday party there. It was for one of their lady residents. The food was very good. You can tell that their chef really loves to cook. There was also a man who was hired to sing at that time and it was really nice. They also have their own bus for them to do things. Regarding their staff, my parent liked them. They were very nice. As a whole, if people can afford it, White Oaks would be an ideal place.

I visited this facility

White Oaks is absolutely beautiful. I like best how clean it was and how friendly the people there were. The rooms seemed adequate for my needs. I would definitely recommend them because they have everything that a senior would need. I like it very, very much, it is just way above my income.

I visited this facility

White Oaks is just an exceptionally well-maintained facility. The management was very warm and welcoming. They spent a lot of time with me touring the facility and answering my questions. They have even kept in recent communication with me about where it stands with my parents. They have been very supportive to us. I felt very strongly that they were a very caring and supportive community.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law lives at the White Oaks independent in Manchester Ct. The staff is amazing with all the residents and are very aware of each of their needs. They all have gone above and beyond for our entire family. The whole place is very clean and absolutely beautiful. They have over 150 residents and all the managers and every staff member knows each of their names. That is a wonderful feeling for anyone but especially elderly. My mother-in-law is 94 and felt comfortable there from day 1. I would be hard-pressed to find a complaint about this place.
