"We have had numerous meetings with the director of the facility (Tom) and the staff or "Team" in charge of my mother's "Care". Unfortunately despite the meetings and our voiced complaints the same issues continue. One of our main concerns is my mother is supposed to get her medication at 8:30 AM, very seldom does this happen. She will get her meds as late as 10AM and at times after 11am. Even after pleading with the nurse that our mother is in pain could she please get her the medicine, we were told she needs to wait her turn. The delivery of food has been very inconsistent as well 8:00 Am breakfast not coming until well after 9:00 Am and dinners served at after 7 PM at night. Our mother has to use a bed pan and has been told at times by staff on duty a bed pan is unavailable and that she should just relieve herself in her pants/diaper. She has also been told that she needs to urinate too much and will just have to wait to use the bed pan. This is even after my mother pleaded with staff letting them know that she is taking a lasiix's for the swelling in her extremities, this helps her pass fluids and causes frequent urination. This doesn't mean all the staff there are bad, as there are some very caring individuals, When they those people are not around our mother suffers the consequences. "

"I just finished a 5 week stint at the rehab portion of Water's Edge. I had never been in Rehab before and had no Idea what to expect. The people who work here are the nicest and most caring professionals I have ever met. The nurses, aids and therapists go out of their way to help and care for their patients. I had several health issues while there and they were all addressed and handledwith care and professionalism. The food was good. There were some misses but many more hits. If I had to give them a grade it would be an 80+. The staff is great and I would recommend Water's Edge highly. I'm home now but I miss many of the caregivers there."

"I can't say enough about this facility. The aides and nursing staff are so caring and work so hard to see that all the residents are happy. My dad has been there for 2 1/2 years and is thriving! There are daily activities with a wonderful recreation staff that treat each resident like a family member. The social service staff is always going above and beyond to see that each resident's need are met. The kitchen staff is always asking what Dad would like and see to it that he gets it. I love this place and highly recommend it. "

"From the moment we arrived at Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center, the staff made us feel supported and cared for. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a warm and comfortable environment. The food is thoughtfully prepared and caters to residents’ individual needs — my loved one actually looked forward to mealtime! The nursing and rehab teams are outstanding — they are not only professional and knowledgeable, but truly compassionate. They took the time to explain each step of the care plan, answered every question, and treated my family member with dignity and respect. The therapy department was especially impressive — they were patient, motivating, and instrumental in my loved one's recovery. I felt reassured knowing my family member was in such capable hands. I would highly recommend Whitney Rehab to anyone looking for skilled nursing or rehabilitation care. The dedication of the staff and the overall environment made a world of difference."

"Salmon Brook Center is a nursing facility that has a rehab wing and a residential wing for memory care patients and patients who need 24/7 nursing care. The staff from the orderlies all the way up to the head nurses are wonderful. Everybody, including the physical therapist, is so kind. Families can visit anytime they want, day or night, any day. They can also bring pets to visit their loved one if they want to. It's a very friendly kind of family atmosphere. There's not enough parking, but it's conveniently located close to a bus line. The actual building has just been remodeled. The rooms are mostly double rooms and have windows. The residential rooms have singles, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the residential area because our friend was in rehab. My mother was OK with the food. The facility was a very nice, good place."

"The staff is totally unprofessional and borderline abusive; the patients are relatively ignored and herded like cattle. They over medicate and under-rehabilitate their patients leaving them dependent on substances and waiting out their term. I could never get a hold of someone in charge there to formally state a complaint, either. On one visit, I got into the room and my mother was lying asleep. The nurse came in and forcibly woke her. Afterwards, she gave her a collection of twenty pills, some of which she openly admitted were for later in the day, and then made her take them all. Originally she didn't even bring water for my mother to take them with. The home even has a smoker's club where the smoking patients can go out as a group and smoke! Much of my mother's health issues are directly related to cigarette smoking and i feel like enabling people in this regard is against rehabilitation standards. My mother is now home and worse off than she was when she was in the hospital before she entered the assisted living home which promoted high quality rehabilitation services. I would say that this is certainly not the case. "

"I was nervous to have my father go to rehab during this pandemic but I couldn't help him at home. The COVID caution and rehab care he received at Apple Rehab Rocky Hill was really much better then expected and helped my feel better about his safety. The first 10 days I was allowed to see my father on video chats. I got too meet his care takers and see that he was happy. After his quarantine period I was finally allowed to see him and he had already made so much improvement. I was so impressed with his therapy. I think he even had a little crush on one of the staff :). Thank you Apple Rehab!"

"The staff my okay, mostly left people alone with their family when guests where there only popping in to give food, medicine, and to check up. The food wasn't very good but that's something you kinda expect in an assisted living facility. The hospital was very clean and the dietary staff was very good and accommodated my grandmother excellently. Building it self is very nice and is and is in a very nice area next to Goodwin park on the Hartford Wethersfield border. It is a very secure facility, but is nice, not industrial and sterile looking like some look. They have all the activities and amenity that youd expect in a nursing home like haor salon, cafeteria, bingo, and community rooms and such. The people there are mostly elderly and some younger patients in need of physical rehab and such. "

"My mother is in Ellis Manor. I think it is serving her very well. They are taking good care of her. However, it is struggling like a lot of the nursing homes. They’re struggling right now because of funding, and it is not their fault. However, the overall care is excellent. They’re taking very good care of my mother. She needs more care now than she did before. My mother has her own her room, but she shares a bathroom with somebody else. It is not spacious because it’s a nursing home, but she has a TV and her bed. It is nothing like living in a facility, but they are taking very good care of her. Right now, they’re in the process of changing how they do care for people there. They’re dropping their staff for one thing, and they’re also putting a new thing at the place, that if you’re walking by and somebody needed your help whether you were their aide or not, you are to go in and help them no matter what. I think they’re upping their care level. I think they’re trying to do the best they can. "

Welcome to Trinity Hill Care Center LLC! My staff and I are dedicated to fulfilling our Center’s mission of “Enriching the lives of the Residents we Serve”. We accomplish this goal every day by teaching our staff to look at our patients as guests and making their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our resident rooms have been upgraded to include amenities like flat screen televisions that will make your stay with us more comfortable. Our “Point of Service” dining program is designed to give our Resident’s the widest selection of meal preferences. Our dedication continues even after discharge with calls from our social work staff making sure that discharge arrangements are working as planned. Selecting a nursing facility can be difficult. Even after visiting, it’s hard to evaluate the care that each place provides. In an effort to help consumers, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid developed the 5 Start Quality Rating System to provide residents and families with an easy to understand summary of nursing home quality. Nursing homes are given one to five stars. One star for being much below average to five star for being much above average. Trinity Hill is proud to have achieved CMS’s highest 5 Star rating!

"Jefferson House is fairly modern and up to date. The residents had their own, semi-private rooms and a very nice dining room. One drawback was that the monthly fee was $14,000. Many of the residents were confined to wheelchairs. Some of them were well into their 80s and 90s, and snoozing in their wheelchairs. They were highly rated on Medicare.gov. "

"I was able to visit Hughes Health & Rehabilitation. There were a couple of reasons why I didn’t want to place my husband there. One was that there wasn't a separate parking lot, so you had to park on the street. I do have a handicapped parking permit tag to be able to park wherever I wanted, so I had to use one of the three spots on the side of the front lawn for handicapped people. I would improve the parking. The facility was a very old building. Part of the patio was attached to this huge house, like a mansion. Unfortunately, I found this to be a very old a facility; although it seemed adequate, and I didn’t think my husband would like it there. It was just kind of dreary and dark, and the atmosphere was quite depressing to me. I did see the rooms, but only from the doorway. I would not feel comfortable driving there and being there, especially at night. I was uncomfortable. I would like to have brought my husband to this facility, not only for rehab but also for long-term care, but I don’t think he would be comfortable. The dining area was located off one of the corridors with nice, big, round tables. It was bright, and the food was attached to a kitchen for that particular wing or section of the rehab facility. I could see that they had celebrated holidays, and people are allowed to visit anytime. "
