"I'm in Apple Rehab Rocky Hill. It's very good. They're very nice. The food is hot, so that's good. The food is good. The staff is very nice, and they come when you call them. The place itself is very nice. It's comfortable. I'm in a private room right now, though I won't be when I go to Medicare. Sometimes the food is better than others. Most of the staff members are very nice, calm, and very accommodating. They're really good at cleaning every day, washing the floors, and emptying the garbage. The outside looks very nice, and the facility is nice."

"My mother moved into Jefferson House. She had been there for three months of rehab. The upkeep is good. The layout is fine. The nurses and CNAs are just wonderful. They're a caring group. My mother, who is fussy, likes the food. They have activities. My mom has been very happy there."

"My 90 year old Uncle was treated with dignity every step of the way. The last year of his life was the very best it could be because of the competence in providing care as well as loving support that he received. In addition, communication with me as his health care representative was very timely and helpful. I always left the conversations knowing they were doing their very best on his behalf. "

"My mom was in rehab at Bel Air Manor for two weeks. The people were nice. The facility was clean. My mom hated the food there. Her room was larger, and she had her own bathroom. Some people spoke, but not all of them. They were not as friendly as the other facility. They were more expensive."

"Newington Healthcare Center is very clean. The staff is very nice and genuine in caring for my mother. They have activities for them every day, like bingo and music. There are 2 people in a room, so it's a little different from an assisted living but it's still very clean. I'm surprised the food is very good. It's kind of expensive, probably the price per month is a lot. Compared to others it's not. It is convenient and because we like it so much there and we're happy, we wanted to stay with them. "

"The staff my okay, mostly left people alone with their family when guests where there only popping in to give food, medicine, and to check up. The food wasn't very good but that's something you kinda expect in an assisted living facility. The hospital was very clean and the dietary staff was very good and accommodated my grandmother excellently. Building it self is very nice and is and is in a very nice area next to Goodwin park on the Hartford Wethersfield border. It is a very secure facility, but is nice, not industrial and sterile looking like some look. They have all the activities and amenity that youd expect in a nursing home like haor salon, cafeteria, bingo, and community rooms and such. The people there are mostly elderly and some younger patients in need of physical rehab and such. "

"I was at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell's rehab for one week. I was an unhappy camper. I think nobody likes rehab because it's uncomfortable, and they have uncomfortable beds and crappy food, but they were perfectly nice here. I just wanted to go home. The staff members were good. They were all very pleasant. I was lucky that my room was private. It was a little bit homey and wasn't that institutional. I was there to do rehab every day as they were trying to get my strength back. That was the whole purpose of it. I had physical therapy every day; they brought me down to the gym for that, and they did a great job. I think they showed movies and had events that went on during the week, too, but it was not my cup of tea, so I didn't go."

"My grandfather stayed at Salmon Brook Center after he could no longer care for himself. This was his final home before passing. I visited him here often. It was a very nice place, with kind caregivers. He made some friends and participated in the activities and events held there. It was very quiet in his room, which was his alone, but he could always call out for help and have someone there quickly. He was a quiet man, and didn't complain about much, but I think he enjoyed his time at Salmon Brook Center. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building was always clean and looked pleasant, both inside and outside. He was able to live a somewhat independent lifestyle, while being taken care of medically and not having to worry about cooking or cleaning. "

"My mother is in Ellis Manor. I think it is serving her very well. They are taking good care of her. However, it is struggling like a lot of the nursing homes. They’re struggling right now because of funding, and it is not their fault. However, the overall care is excellent. They’re taking very good care of my mother. She needs more care now than she did before. My mother has her own her room, but she shares a bathroom with somebody else. It is not spacious because it’s a nursing home, but she has a TV and her bed. It is nothing like living in a facility, but they are taking very good care of her. Right now, they’re in the process of changing how they do care for people there. They’re dropping their staff for one thing, and they’re also putting a new thing at the place, that if you’re walking by and somebody needed your help whether you were their aide or not, you are to go in and help them no matter what. I think they’re upping their care level. I think they’re trying to do the best they can. "

"My mom is at Avery Heights and it has a friendly atmosphere. They got friendly and caring staff. The facility is clean. They have quite a few musical events, bingo, game nights, and movie nights for the residents."

"My mom has been in Portland Care & Rehabilitation Center. I really like it because she was in another rehab facility a couple of years ago, and it was horrible, and the staff is very caring here and they are treating her so well. She has therapy twice a day in the morning, and then in the afternoon OT and PT. They have a weekly schedule of bingo, cards, games, trivia, and all those kinds of things. Tomorrow, she said they're going to have mass and the stations of the cross, which is very important to her. They do the rosary every other week and she's a religious person, so that's important to her. The staff is very nice. When she pushes that call button, they're there, whereas at the other place, she waited half an hour before somebody got there. It's a smaller place, and the staff seems very, very attentive. They're very friendly. Everybody from the cleaning people, to the nurses, to PT, to the aides, everyone is very friendly, they treat my mom like a queen. Every day, the cleaning lady comes in and wipes everything down, like the floors and all the surfaces. It's very clean. It could use a tiny bit of updating, the furniture is little bit old, but I'd rather have older furniture and go to help than it being fancy and lousy help. My mom said the food is fair. They seem to have a lot of activities. They went outside and she was happy with that. They have stuff but she doesn't go to some of it because she is tired in the afternoon. Insurance is paying, so it's worth it to me."

"Ledgecrest Health Care is old, but the staff is outstanding. I like the people the most. They do activities mostly during the day. Overall, they've been great."

"Glastonbury Health Care Center was one of the smaller nursing homes with short-term rehab, which my mother had started out in and then she ended up in the long-term part of the facility. The staff was wonderful, very nice there, and answered questions readily. They were very sympathetic and understood what was going on. They treated her very well, and we were very happy with the care that she received. She shared a room with another woman initially. The room was on the small side, and she wasn't on the window side, so that was hard for her, but we could put her in the wheelchair and wheel her down into the lounge room. They had a sunroom, which was a really nice part of the facility. The food was very typical hospital food. She didn't eat all that much when she was in the long-term part of it. She liked the desserts mostly. She was on a soft food diet, so everything was chopped very finely. She did tell me that some of the food was good. She received occupational therapy and physical therapy every day, and they were very good. The recreation director came in and asked me a lot of questions. She was very nice and very thorough about patients' likes and dislikes and former jobs and activities, trying to find out what they were like. "

"My Grand mother was a resident at this facility she has alzheimers and diabetes. She was just recently admitted to the hospital because her sugar level was crazy high she almost slipped into a diabetic coma cause of this facility. My aunt and myself just went to visit her the day of the incident when we arrived she was slumped in a chair sweating sitting by the nursing station and no one (NURSES OR CNA'S) noticed something was wrong? so who knows how long she's been sitting there. When we arrived we tried to say hi and she wasn't responding so we called the nurse so she could check her sugar levels she did, it was like 800 then we asked was it done in the morning and didnt get an answer. An ambulance came took her to hospital and when she recovered she didn't go back now she is at amberwoods in farmington ct. "
