Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell

I was at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell's rehab for one week. I was an unhappy camper. I think nobody likes rehab because it's uncomfortable, and they have uncomfortable beds and crappy food, but they were perfectly nice here. I just wanted to go home. The staff members were good. They were all very pleasant. I was lucky that my room was private. It was a little bit homey and wasn't that institutional. I was there to do rehab every day as they were trying to get my strength back. That was the whole purpose of it. I had physical therapy every day; they brought me down to the gym for that, and they did a great job. I think they showed movies and had events that went on during the week, too, but it was not my cup of tea, so I didn't go.

My husband is in a rehabilitation facility, still at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell. I have never seen the place. They don't allow visitors in. He was discharged from there, he came home on a Friday, and when the visiting nurse came to see him to set up the homecare on the following Monday, three days later, she was appalled of the condition that she said they never should have let him out. He couldn't walk, and he has Parkinson's. He never seems to make it at home for very long. He was taken from the house. The visiting nurse called the ambulance, they took him to the emergency room and admitted him to the hospital, and he had a slight workup there and then he went right from there to the rehab. I talk to him every day, and he's content with it. He said the people are nice, and he has a private shower. They seem to be taking care of him well. He's not fond of the food, but he likes his own cooking best. He's in a private room at this point.
