"I went to Stonebrook Village at Windsor Locks. The location was a good location, as it was right off the highway to my house. It was clean. It seemed to have quite a few amenities. The pricing was reasonable. The staff were great. They were excellent. They were very personable. They seemed to know the residents by name. They were very good. They have an exercise area. They have an activities room. They have a movie room. There was a library there. They ask the residents what they would like, and them try and create different activities based on the wants and needs of the community. I thought that was really nice."

"White Oaks is really great; I was impressed. I like the people and the facilities. I like the proximity to everything that I know. It looks like the couple of people that live over there are more like my type and my style. The people that I saw there were well-maintained people; I didn’t smell any odors. The dining room is great, nice, and clean. I enjoyed the visit. "

"Our tour of Covenant Living of Cromwell was great. It was awesome. It was like a hotel when you walked in there. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was amazing. They had a cafeteria, a restaurant, and then they had a coffee shop. So there were three places you could go for a meal. They had a snack room, too. They allow you to have three meals a day, but it was like a credit card setup where they give you so much money every month and allotment for food. I think it was $300 for each person a month. The menus were awesome. The apartments were very nice. They even had a deck where you could go outside (each one had a patio deck). It's very quiet and you could bring pets if you wanted to. They had a movie theater, a music room, and an activities room where you could crochet or needlepoint or have any hobbies, you could do it there. They kept their residents engaged with a bunch of activities going on. We would have picked it, but we just couldn't afford it. It was a little on the high side."

"Colebrook Village at Hebron offers 24-hour nursing care. I probably would have opted to go with this facility, because it's closer to us, but they didn't have any availability when we visited. We toured the memory care area and they were very kind, understanding, empathetic, and very welcoming. It was well-kept and very clean."

"I went to Holiday Quail Run Estates. They showed me some nice cottages out there, one- and two-bedrooms with a garage on a couple of them, and some without garages. It was very clean and the security looked good. The staff was good. The facility was decent. It's just a long way off from where I am now."

"Bluebird Estates was very nice. The rooms were extra large and very interesting. They were really good-sized rooms. I could fit my furniture in with no problem. They had a veranda there, too."

"They provided three meals a day, and it was not too far from my house. The staff was very fine and very knowledgeable. They showed me the calendar for a month of what they did. They had an exercise room. They had yoga. They had rider's group. The atmosphere was very peaceful. We looked at a studio, but I guess she's going to be in a one-bedroom. They were a little small, but they did need a lot because they did not cook. The food was provided for them so they did not need a big place. "

"We are moving into AVIVA West Hartford. I went there three times and I just got very good vibes about the place every time. I felt that this was the place for us. The staff was terrific. They were very friendly and very nice. The food was excellent. I had a burger, my husband had grilled cheese and fries, my son had a salad, and my daughter-in-law had a chicken sandwich. They had a full schedule of activities, several that I'd be interested in. The residents there seemed more lively and out and about."

"I have lived at the Holiday since March of 2023. Moving from a larger facility to a smaller home like environment has been a welcome change. Not one for large gatherings, I would recommend the Holiday for for a feel at home comfort."

"We moved to The McAuley a year ago and love the independent living here. We continue to live our lives as we did before we came, visiting friends and families, but not we also have the friendship of the other residents. And we are free of the troubles related to home and condo ownership!"

"We are interested in the Court of Saint James. It was very good, very nice, and affordable. We looked at two bedroom apartments, and they were very nice, spacious, and clean. They were in the process of renovating it, but it looked very nice. We like the Court of Saint James. The facility was very nice. From the independent living ones we looked at where everything is included, I would say this facility was the best. They impressed me very much."

"The care is excellent, and the staffs are excellent at Avery Heights. Everybody is caring and attentive. It is very clean and updated. My mom went to a nice music activity the other day that she really enjoyed. They do a lot of music therapy there. "

"I visited and was happy with Seabury. The residents all seemed happy there. The people that I dealt with were very good and very informative. The place was just lovely. I have nothing bad to say about it. I was actually surprised that the size of the bedrooms and kitchens was quite large and that the living room would accommodate a good amount of seating. They had cabinets, which I was really happy about. They had exercise programs and a swimming pool. They had buses that would take you to appointments or different venues to offer entertainment. They had something for everyone. They had speakers, music days, and pretty much everything. It looked to me like a very homey place to be. I have not been accepted yet, but I'm trying to get in because it looked like a place where I would be happy. "
