My mom moved into AVIVA West Hartford, and it was great. It seems like the best value for quality of care. It's a beautiful facility at an affordable price. The move-in was pretty easy. The facility is very clean, well-maintained, and has interesting architecture. The staff members are very nice and friendly. The food is pretty good. They have a lot of visiting artists, like singers. They have a game room, a billiard room, a cathedral on the third floor, a couple of grand pianos, and a library that's well stocked.

My in-person visit to AVIVA West Hartford was wonderful. The apartment was very nice. The people were really great. They're very helpful and very welcoming. It was a very nice visit. The rooms were very nice and very spacious.

I toured AVIVA West Hartford. They seem to have a lot of different room options. The price was incredible, really good. The food looks decent and good quality. I was able to talk to residents and I said, "Tell me, what do you think is the best thing here?", and they said, "The food." So clearly, that was a plus for them. The staff did a nice job. The layout was not billed as an assisted living place. The rooms and everything are nice, but to get from the room to the dining halls for someone with dementia, can be difficult.

The location of Aviva West Hartford is good. The staff seemed caring. It's an old historic building. Aviva West Hartford came in a close second, but we decided against it because of the older hallways, and it's a little confusing for my loved one or for anybody. There's a beauty salon, a movie theater, and organized activities, things like that. The staff who gave the tour was awesome. However, because of the age of the facility, they need better lighting and new carpeting. At that time, the residents were all getting ready for dinner and things like that, but they seemed happy. They were fine. They had typical activities like bingo, card playing, cribbage, and things like that.

I toured the memory care unit of AVIVA West Hartford and I liked very much what I saw. Of course, it's contained, but with an emphasis on cognitive stimulation, sensory stimulation, and a variety of activities. I like the environment. I like that it had some outside access like a patio area for the residents, but there was no availability, and the staff couldn't tell me when there would be availability. The staff though was a very informative and caring person who made some recommendations to other places down near Stratford, so I appreciated that. I like her a lot. I also like the fact that their nutritionist is paying attention to the needs of an older population. The building and the memory care are different. The building is a much older building. It certainly was clean and neat. The memory care unit is not a lot of bells and whistles. It's pretty bare-bones, but that's okay. I think what's more important is the staff and I like the staff that I met. I felt that they were involved and caring for the people that they were working with.

We toured AVIVA West Hartford. It was spacious, it was clean, and it had plenty of activities for people to use. We liked the theater, the restaurant, and the dining area. We liked the type of activities that we saw going on. The people who live there seemed very happy and the staff was very friendly. The people at the front desk were very welcoming and very helpful.

I toured AVIVA West Hartford. The outside of the building is very attractive, but the inside is very old. The staff members who assisted me were fine. However, they need to put more money into the building. It's pretty dated inside. It hasn't been redone in a long time. With regard to the atmosphere, I felt a little bit depressed. The rooms that we saw were very small.

AVIVA West Hartford would have been purely accessible for our son to get there. However, they didn't have much in the way of the grounds. It was a nursing home facility for quite a while, and they're off the street. They are close to Elizabeth Park, which has a nice path and beautiful garden, but I felt the building was too old and wasn't very appealing. For the staff, they went out of their way to engage us. They were pleasant and helpful. They sent us home with some very nicely baked pastries, and they were delicious. My reaction when we walked in was very disappointing because the original front entrance is completely non-accessible for people who have mobility issues, and yet the signage didn't direct you to the back of the building, which is accessible. I mentioned that to them and I said, I would think that putting up some signage would be helpful to people because here we are just wandering around the property looking for an accessible entrance.

We are choosing AVIVA West Hartford for my dad. The building was extremely nice. It's got a lot of character to it because it used to be a school. It's not like a cookie-cutter place where not all the rooms look alike. So, you can kind of have your own style in your room, and my dad liked that. All the staff was extremely nice. They had a lot of outside areas where you could hang out and do your thing. They would do a lot of traveling, like shopping or going to events. My dad liked the fact that they had a movie theater and they would do movies regularly. The dining hall was nice.

We are moving into AVIVA West Hartford. I went there three times and I just got very good vibes about the place every time. I felt that this was the place for us. The staff was terrific. They were very friendly and very nice. The food was excellent. I had a burger, my husband had grilled cheese and fries, my son had a salad, and my daughter-in-law had a chicken sandwich. They had a full schedule of activities, several that I'd be interested in. The residents there seemed more lively and out and about.

AVIVA West Hartford was nice. It was actually an old school that was renovated into all living quarters. It was very nice, but it was an older building. They didn't have as many two-room apartments as the other place did, but their one-bedroom apartments were very nice. I saw a two-bedroom apartment that was empty, and it was very nice. I like that their dining area was open all day long, so whenever you were hungry, you could go in and get something to eat. I took the tour about 10:30 in the morning, and there were people in there having breakfast, and the lady giving me a tour said, "These four people like to eat late." So I thought that was very convenient to have the dining area open all day long instead of just a couple of hours in the morning, a couple of hours at noon, and a couple of hours at night. It was very convenient for the residents. The staff who assisted me was very good. They also have a good variety of field trips each week for the residents. They have buses coming in to take the residents to different places, which was nice, getting them out. Their gym was not extensive, but their library was better. I like their library area. The people I ran across seemed very pleased with living there.

AVIVA West Hartford was a lot better community as far as upkeep. The only thing I was a little concerned about was my mom uses a walker and there was a lot of walking distance between various places within the facility. They said that we could go ahead and get a motorized scooter or a motorized chair or something, but that was my only major negative about the facility. They had an actual chapel so Mom would be able to go to church. That was a plus. They also do transportation to houses of worship if the residents so choose, which I think was another plus for me. They had the ethnic mix that would have made my mom feel more comfortable. The staff was good. They knew the resident's names and the best stories in their history. So, I was impressed with that. They had more of a personal touch.

I went to AVIVA West Hartford. The facilities were very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and enthusiastic about the place. It's a renovated school, so it was very calming and just a very nice place. It's a beautiful facility. The rooms were very efficiently designed. They're all very clean, very spacious, and nice. The staff took us to the library, to the eating place, and to the chapel, which is more like a cathedral than a chapel. It's beautiful. The place was very quiet and very serene. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. We went in the main entrance which has quite a few stairs to get up to the front door and that's a bit of a challenge. People who can't walk upstairs can always take the side entrance. It's a renovated school, so there are things that it was built for as a school, that probably aren't the best suited for elderly people, but they've done a wonderful job and if you're a healthy person that can walk up the stairs, it's fine.

Mom is currently in the assisted living portion of AVIVA West Hartford and I have found the staff to be very responsive to my mom's needs. As her needs have changed, they have just stepped up to the plate and adapted to her needing more assistance. I've also appreciated that they are very good at encouraging my mom and escorting her to different activities to keep her engaged. Their chef just started doing demonstrations weekly, they frequently have musicians and musical performances, and there are also craft activities like painting. Their food is very good, too.

I toured and I liked it a lot. I liked the programs that they had to keep the seniors busy for assisted living. I also liked the apartments that they had. There was the efficiency, the one-bedroom apartment, and the two-bedroom apartment. They were all very updated. They were lovely, lovely apartments. I never saw any assisted living rooms that were actually as nice as these. The staff was very friendly. I met them, and I met the chef that prepared the meals. He was very nice, and he shared menus with me. The menus looked really good, so I liked all of that. They had another room for socializing. They had a popcorn machine in there and different things that they would have during social hours. I liked all of that.

I've chosen here and will move in probably in August. The rooms were huge. It was a former girls school, and it was an older building. The more modern places don't build with large enough rooms. It was very good. They were very helpful. They have their own theater. It's a pretty good size, and they deal with Amazon. They told me that all the meals are provided there. I can live as a resident, but down the road if I need assisted living it's there; I don't need to move.

This was the one we selected. It's nice, antique, has character, and friendly. The staff was great. The rooms were nice and clean with great window views. The activities looked great. There was an activity room or a day room, a pub, and a chapel.

It was a beautiful facility. Everything looked really nice. The staff was extremely friendly. There was no doubt in my mind as far as how I wanted my parents to live there. However they had decided not to go an assisted living and just stay here at home.
