"Colebrook Village at Hebron offers 24-hour nursing care. I probably would have opted to go with this facility, because it's closer to us, but they didn't have any availability when we visited. We toured the memory care area and they were very kind, understanding, empathetic, and very welcoming. It was well-kept and very clean."

"My mother is all set, and we moved her into Bluebird Estates. I like everything about it. I love the place itself, I love the apartments, I love the way they are, and I love the atmosphere of waiting it out in the dining room. The food there is good, and they all get out to the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It encourages socialization among seniors, and they have all kinds of group activities going on. They have people coming in playing guitars or the piano for them. To me, in my opinion, you couldn't do any better. I am so impressed. It's expensive, but when you look at expense, now there's no more all those bills at home, so I think it's an extremely good value. They have a small chapel, and it is right on my mother's floor. They have an organ, and anybody can go sit there at any time and play the organ. They have a non-denominational service sometimes. They have a beauty salon, but no one is currently working there, so I guess one way to improve is to get somebody to work at the beauty salon. My mother has a kitchenette with a small number of cabinets, a sink, and a counter enough to get herself a little meal. She can't cook in there, but it's enough for whatever she wants to do in the kitchen. It looks good, and it's fine."

"Quail Run was clean, and the people were nice. They had a demonstration on blended food or smoothies -- that was interesting -- and it kept the people occupied or interested. The property was more than adequate for my needs. "

"We went to Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam. It was very good. The facility itself was beautiful. It was spotless and well-staffed. The people that we met were all very, very nice. The units were very, very nice. We looked at a studio and a single room and they were actually really, really nice. They got everything you would need."

"My uncle will be moving into Elmbrook Village within the month. We liked everything about it. We thought it was a perfect place for him. The friendliness of the staff is great. The residents that we met are extremely happy. The dining area and menus are fantastic. It is a beautiful facility. They offer everything that he would be requiring. His apartment is fantastic. It is clean, cheerful, and has an excellent setup. They have a calendar of activities every month. They do arts and crafts, music, and card games. They have laundry services. They'll deliver packages to your room if needed. The whole place is extremely clean."

"My tour at Arbors of Hop Brook was excellent. The woman that gave me the tour was very knowledgeable. She had been working there for a long time. She showed me all the rooms and all the activity rooms and the cafeteria. I was very pleased with her tour. The rooms were good. They were big. They had a mini kitchen as opposed to the full kitchen that you get through the other facility. They had an exercise area and a library."

"My mother is in Welles Country Village. It is good. She's been there for a while. She was there for ten years before dementia, but she moved away to Michigan for two years, then I brought her back. She's been where she is now for three years. She's in assisted living. My interaction with the staff is great. I have no problems. Her apartment is very clean. She has someone come in and clean once a week. They do her laundry. They bring her food in, or she goes to the dining room. It's very comfortable for her. Her apartment has a living area, a bedroom, a walk-in shower, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. They have something going on every day, five days a week. The dining room is closed on the weekend. They have bingo and karaoke. They have birthday parties. They celebrate the holidays. They have a knitting class. She's at the point where she doesn't even get involved in anything. She just wants to sit in her apartment. It's State approved and I know they're limited with certain things that they can only offer. The staff could be more hands-on with her. The food is not very desirable. When she's in the dining room, I don't know what they're serving her, but when they bring her meals in for the weekend and every dinner at night, it's all prepackaged, and it doesn't look good at all."

"The tour was fantastic. The facility was like a 5-star resort. Everything was beyond expectations. It was just beautiful. It was fancier and better than I expected. The staff during the tour was amazing and super friendly. The memory care woman was just the best. They had all kinds of great programs and they're very involved with the residents. It was very impressive. The food was fantastic. The individual rooms were very spacious. They had a common area and different restaurants within the facility. They went the extra length to personalize the rooms and then showcase each resident."

"My mother was at the Residence at South Windsor Farms until mid October, and she passed away Tuesday. I would recommend it 100%. Excellent care -- very loving and caring people. They gave 110%, so I am very happy with everything. She had a private apartment for a while, and they did move her downstairs called the Reflections Memory Unit. She experienced both of their living areas. It’s quite a new facility, and everything is new, clean, and bright. Very nice. The grounds were beautiful with nice little areas for them to walk like a garden area. It’s setup very nicely. "
