"I thought Maplewood at Orange was great. The staff was very nice, very open, very talkative, and letting me know everything. They were getting ready for a production of snowflakes or something that night. It was like a dance or something like that. Very, very nice, very clean, very well-kept rooms. They had lunch for us, my mom said they were good. I gave her the lunch because she didn't come with us. She liked it. They were having lunch when I came. And they explained that if she couldn't get downstairs herself, they would either bring up a wheelchair and bring her down, or send food to her room. They had a beauty salon, a fitness center, and a PT place. They had arts and crafts and a library. They have a patio outside with a garden. You could see it through the dining room. There was nothing dirty, it was very clean."

"Charter Senior Living of Orange is absolutely beautiful. It has plenty of options for what kind of room, how much care you need, and how big a place you need. However, it was a little over the budget at the time, with what Mom wanted to spend or what she was expecting, so it was a bit of a sticker shock, and so Mom kind of got cold feet with the whole thing. The people who were running the tour were great. They were fine. They did a great job. They showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to find out. The place was only a couple of years old; it was just a great place."

"We went to The Village at Kensington Place. Overall, it's a very nice place. They have everything. They have nursing staff, they administer medications, and they have someone clean the rooms once a week. In the memory care section, there are no kitchens in their apartments. Some of them have few cabinets, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Others don't even have that. So, the patient has to leave the room to get anything they want. There's a small kitchenette with snacks, coffee and other drinks they can help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots of activities that challenge memory. They have snack areas where they can just grab a snack, sit down and enjoy it. I looked at both memory care and assisted living. With assisted living, they have a small kitchen but no stoves. They don't want anyone cooking in the room. They have a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a couple of cabinets, and that's it. The staff who toured me was very cordial, professional, listened to your concern. They're good listeners. They listen to their customer's requirements, and they'll show you what's available to help. They're all very good. The facility was spotless. There is no dust on the railings or anything. It's just beautiful and perfect. They have a nice yard in the back that is fenced in. They have long furniture and picnic tables. There's a walkway so you can take a walk around, you can take a ride in a wheelchair or use a walker. You can walk and go around the backyard."

"Long Hill Home is a beautiful, clean and warm place to call home. Management and members of staff are very friendly and professional, they make your visit very pleasant and of course they ask you to stay to enjoy a meal with them! They’re very hospitable. The rooms are all en-suite, clean and modern bathrooms with walk in showers. The environment and the view outside is so calming and serene! It is a beautiful home indeed!"

"Beautiful, well appointed home that has considered all the possible needs of memory care residents. The staff is attentive. The security system prevents residents from wandering off the premises. Medications are kept locked and distributed to residents as required. The Home provides a much more personalized care than the larger care facilities I have toured."

"It is lovely. The apartments were nicer than any other place we had seen. The layout was very good. The bathrooms were very large with a lot of grab bars and safety features. Architecturally, this was the best place we saw. There are a lot of big windows, the ceilings are high, the hallways are wide and that makes a huge difference more than other things that people might be looking for. All the residents we talked to had wonderful things to say about this facility spontaneously which I thought was pretty interesting. Everybody looked pretty happy. The staff who helped us with the tour were excellent. They were well-informed, very understanding, and very interested in feedback and preferences. The dining area and the food were excellent. "

"I liked it very much; that one was my second choice. It’s a younger clientele ,and they are very busy; people are walking in the hallways. I like the rooms as it is like an apartment. The people were very friendly, and the location just a little bit off for me, so I have to decide. "

"Old Glory Days was wonderful. It was beautiful. It was very clean. I liked it because it was open. I didn't like it because there were a lot of stairs. They were very expensive, too. The staff was very down-to-earth and neat. It's a converted old house. I wouldn't recommend it unless you lived in town, and if you had a lot of money and you were by yourself. I don't think it was good for a couple. It was very well put together. It was nicely painted inside."

"I'm living in Spring Meadows Trumbull and I love it here. I'm doing workouts and I'm into arts and crafts. I also play games, and I'm doing workouts with Keith, who is one of the physical therapy guys. They offer three meals a day and the food is very good. The staff is very nice and helpful."

"We went to Avery Heights. The staff members were very friendly. The dining area looked OK. The place was impeccable. It looked wonderful and really nice. The pool was a huge draw to us. And if my mom was transitioning into needing more care, I felt like they were going to handle it the best. I was surprised the grounds were very pretty, but the rooms were very, very small."

"Maplewood was excellent. They had lots of different activities. A bus was just getting back; they’ve gone out to lunch, and they had someone coming in with a therapy dog. They had a regular children’s program so the older people get exposed to see cute kids singing. I was impressed with the staff; they were interacting with the residents, and everybody seemed to know the residents’ names. The location was good, and it was easy to find parking. It feels personal, small, and like a family. I saw them doing some brain games. "

"My husband moved into Maplewood at Stony Hill. I'm not there enough because it's so far away from me. It takes me two hours to get there. My husband has private care there right now, and they're not the ones taking care of that. The facility is excellent. They play music sometimes. They have textile-type things that they can do on the tables. I have to pay for 24-hour care there, separate from their fee. The rooms are very nice and exceptional."

"brand new and spacious rooms. staff is always friendly and happy to talk to. they know their residents and are welcoming. residents are able to enjoy interactive activities with other residents that are engaging and great for socialization. i recommend this community for anyone's loved one who needs assistance in their every day life.
