My mother-in-law was at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden for 3 months and the care and attention that she got there was good. She was in their assisted living and the staff was fantastic and caring. She, of course, needed help and assistance with medication and showers and they were amazing with it. They were there and they were kind. If there were any issues, they told us about them. When she needed something, we were made aware of it. They're beyond compassionate. She ate very well there, too. She enjoyed the food and was always pleased with it. They had activities there like bingo, and arts and crafts. It was hard with COVID but they did what they could and kept them separate. They got them out to see other people and talk with other people. They sat them at the lunch table to discuss what they did, and that's just what they needed, a camaraderie. It was perfect. The facility was clean and very secure and we felt very safe for her there. They were very attentive to their place, going through COVID and everything, they're very on top of it. When there were any issues like any positive cases that broke out, we got an email notifying us and they told us when we went to visit that there are cases, they are segregated, and they were doing what they have to do. They didn't hide anything from us.

The Village at Kensington Place is big enough, but it's not humongous. The memory care unit has a fabulous setup. The rooms are clean. The food was great. I thought it was a really nice place. The people seemed very caring. The girl who was going to do the tour had something come up, and she asked if I would mind going with the head chef. The chef was wonderful. They sent me home with a fresh loaf of freshly baked cranberry bread and it was fabulous. They had an outdoor space in the back of the building. They have two other little areas where they can go outside.

The Village at Kensington Place was a very comfortable place. The staff was very friendly. The living quarters were nice. They had a lot of activities and stuff. They had bingo, card playing, exercising, cooking classes, and movie nights.

The tour experience at The Village at Kensington Place was very good. They were very informative. They took us through the entire facility and showed us several different units that were available. We got a good idea as to what services they offer. The physical appearance was good. It seemed very homey and very comfortable. The rooms we saw seemed nice. They were having some activities when we were there. They were doing some card games. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions.

I liked The Village at Kensington Place. It was really pretty. The apartments were nice. The only reason why we didn't go with them was that it was priced higher. It was really beautiful. I have nothing negative to say about the staff, or the rooms, or any of their amenities. The staff that I met with was very friendly. They sent me a thank you card for going and looking at it, which I thought was nice. No one else did that. They seem to have a big calendar filled with activities like speakers coming in, music. They had a library and that's important, because my dad likes to read. I was pleased with the Village, it was my first choice.

We went to The Village at Kensington Place. Overall, it's a very nice place. They have everything. They have nursing staff, they administer medications, and they have someone clean the rooms once a week. In the memory care section, there are no kitchens in their apartments. Some of them have few cabinets, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Others don't even have that. So, the patient has to leave the room to get anything they want. There's a small kitchenette with snacks, coffee and other drinks they can help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots of activities that challenge memory. They have snack areas where they can just grab a snack, sit down and enjoy it. I looked at both memory care and assisted living. With assisted living, they have a small kitchen but no stoves. They don't want anyone cooking in the room. They have a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a couple of cabinets, and that's it. The staff who toured me was very cordial, professional, listened to your concern. They're good listeners. They listen to their customer's requirements, and they'll show you what's available to help. They're all very good. The facility was spotless. There is no dust on the railings or anything. It's just beautiful and perfect. They have a nice yard in the back that is fenced in. They have long furniture and picnic tables. There's a walkway so you can take a walk around, you can take a ride in a wheelchair or use a walker. You can walk and go around the backyard.

The Village at Kensington Place is affordable. We looked at the one-bedroom, the expanded one-bedroom, and the two-bedroom. It was a very clean facility. They have excellent food. The introduction was outstanding. They had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, coffee, and tea. They took us on a tour of what my mom was interested in. It was very nice, and we liked it a lot. They have different levels of care. The staff was very friendly. They had no COVID-related death. It's in a very secure location and a nicely wooded area. It's within walking distance of the mall. It's conveniently located for us, and she likes that. They still do your laundry and serve you the food. Another great part about it is it's walking distance from the hospital in Meriden. They could use new carpeting. The carpet in the halls was a little worn and was not pristine. We got the cheapest option we could for my mom as far as the level of care. It's pretty standard that they offer the laundry, the housekeeping, and the food. They also take cats.

My overall experience at The Village at Kensington Place during my tour was very good. The staff who walked me through was very good as well. It was very nice, clean, and my mom is interested in going there. Their rooms were very nice, the dining area was very big and the people there seemed to be happy. Everybody was friendly, it was clean, it was like isolated from other places. It sits back by itself and the grounds are nice. They got a place where they do exercises, they have machines there. They got a beauty salon, which my mother likes, and they have a place where you can have a beer or a glass of wine. They also have a nice library.

The Village at Kensington Place, it definitely had very warm, friendly staff. The woman was excellent, that toured us around, the clients there seemed extremely happy, and I would definitely have considered moving my dad there. They were great. They were more the feel that I was looking for. This was just more my style, I would say my dad's style. They have a lot of programs. They tried to do a lot with socialization. That seems to be a priority for them, which I liked. They also had a barber shop. I think they had a little storefront for the clients, a dining room, a private dining room, and they had a very nice memory care unit. It wasn't as new and as pristine as the other place I went to.

The Village at Kensington Place is like a hotel with a lot of rooms and studios., one-bedrooms. I like it because they have a variety. They have a one-bedroom with a porch, a one-bedroom without a porch, a large studio, a small studio, so they have more variety of rooms. They have pretty much all the same activities, they have bingo night, dancing night, but I did like them because they also had extra rooms. If you want to go there with your family, you can reserve a room and have a birthday with your father.

My mother-in-law is at The Village at Kensington Place. They've been great so far. We chose the place for its location. They are very professional people, it is very clean, and it is homey. I have not tried the food because they are being very cautious right now, and so they are not having family dine in their dining room yet. They have art, karaoke, and dancing, they have jazz bands outside, and they take their residents on tours; there's a lot going on. That was the first and the last place I looked; there was not any need to look further. I think their price point was very competitive and very good, so we went with it, and the location was perfect for the family. Everything seems great. It is new, and there have been no issues or conflicts. They've been calling us to let us know how mom is getting along there. We just have peace of mind now where we didn't before. And I think there are more than enough activities for her there.

I visited The Village at Kensington Place. They were excellent. It was a little bit older than the other facility I visited, but still very nice, very comforting and warm. It seemed very home-like. I was very impressed with the staff as well. They had a nice entryway that had some landscaping, but I didn't get to go to any kind of common area or courtyard. There was ample parking, and it was easy to get to. I didn't get to see the actual room, only a blueprint floor plan.

I think The Village at Kensington Place is fine, but it’s not going to be the facility for me. It was functional versus charming. It was clean. The woman who conducted the tour was very nice. Also, the distance was a little far out for me.

The Village was very nice. My aunt was there for four years and she enjoyed it there. The apartments were very nice, clean, and there was plenty of room. The food was wonderful, and they had a great menu. They had dining rooms for their families. They had everything when it comes to activities. They had bingo, TV, and a movie room. They had pool tables and a library with internet. They had a bar where they could drink every Tuesday night. It was like a hotel.

I picked The Village at Kensington Place for my mother, and I’m very pleased. It's not easy for my mom because I took her out of her community, which is in Norwich (that’s about 50 miles away), to come here. She was sick when got to Kensington Place, and she got bronchitis, but it’s been very good there. The place is excellent. It’s very clean, and they’re good at giving the medications. They have lots of activities, which she has not taken part in, and they do listen. I’ve been able to talk to the staff about any issues that I had. I wanted them to cue her a little more on activities, and they were able to do that. I’ve had a couple of meetings with them already, and I talk to the staff. I’m there a lot, I’m there at least every other day, sometimes every day. They do welcome the family members to participate in activities there too. It took her a while to warm up, but I was just talking to the staff today, and they said she’s really participating in a lot more activities. She’s looking for things to do. In fact, I had to go and look for her when I was there today to find where she was. She was at the block party. She is definitely happier than where she was before. I think the added services are just so helpful to her, and the staff is just very nice about it. It’s not easy for my mom to accept help, but they’re very good about it.

The Village was a benchmark facility. It was a very nice and well-kept place. I had beautiful dining room and nice apartments with balconies and porches. The food was excellent. It had very good, friendly and helpful people. They also had a very good activities director.

What I like best about the The Village at Kensington Place was that the wing that my mom is in is just a small wing. I feel that people who works with her there are very caring and I think that is important. It is a lockdown facility and you have to ring a doorbell to get in, so I know my mom is safe there. The room that she got there is spacious. I have also tried eating there and it is good. When it comes to activities, my mom is always looking forward to their bus trips twice a week. I think that is important for their residents instead of just being in that one wing all day. I had some issues with them before, but when I discussed those with the director, they readily took care of them. They also encourage me to inform them if I am not happy with anything so that they could work on those things. I would have to say that I'm pleased with this facility.

Very disappointing. Clothes and belongings were stolen the level of care for the cost was not worth it. Seems pretty nice when u visit but after a few weeks we could see that the resident was not being taken care of properly.

Extremely helpful with my 92 year old father with Alzheimer's. Their memory care unit is exceptional, very welcoming and comfortable. Care level from everyone, aides, nurses etc. is what you would want for you loved on.
