"We liked Cedar Woods because they had a full kitchen. Also, they had a little deck area. The staff was very nice. I met Brianna and another person and they were both lovely. Their facilities were right up there with everyone else's. They had good transportation services, game areas, common areas, and activities. They had a salon and that was good as well, and I think they had a workout room. It would be plenty for my father."

"My mom was in Spring Meadows, and she is very happy there. She moved in May and very comfortable. They are very friendly and welcoming. She is outgoing there. They do offer a lot of activities; they have bingo, movies, baking classes, and jewelry making. They have a lot of special holiday activities every afternoon. They meet in the common area and have a snack and something to drink, and everybody socializes. They have the Trumbull Youth Symphony Camp and entertainment in the courtyard. They have a lot of outside activities that she really is able to enjoy. They have exercise class, Wii bowling, and a lot of activities. She made friends. The dining room is beautiful, and everyone likes it. The staff is lovely, they know her name from day 1. A few times that she didn’t make it to dinner, they called to make sure she was OK. She has an efficiency room -- bedroom and living room accommodation. Out of the places I have seen and visited, I am really happy with what we found there. They do have a lot of outside activities also. They do take them to the ferry to Long Island go to restaurants for lunch or go shopping. She seems very happy, and that’s all I can ask for. "

"Hoffman SummerWood generates a lot of people of the Jewish faith. It is basically built by Jewish people, so the food is kosher, and the majority of their residents are Jewish. There is nothing wrong with that, but I didn't think my parents would acclimate to that type of environment. It was clean and beautiful, but it wasn't what my mom and dad would need. The staff was excellent. The individual that showed us around was great. She answered a lot of questions. At the end, she actually had the chef prepare three meals for me to bring back for my mom and dad. It was a salmon salad, which was just very lovely. It was absolutely beautiful. However, it would have been nice if the grounds were kept up a little bit more. There were patio chairs tipped over, and it could have been because it was raining the night before, but other than that, it was absolutely gorgeous, it just wasn't what my parents would probably feel comfortable in. The rooms were beautiful, but I was looking for a place that had a patio. I was a little discouraged that they didn't have that because that's like a big piece of what would probably sell my mom, the opportunity for her to break out of her room and have a space of her own and not necessarily to have to walk through the whole facility to go out into the courtyard."

"The first thing that really made us smile was the way we were greeted when we came to visit. As we met some of the staff, everyone was so friendly and willing to help. Upon moving in and since then, we could tell that the staff really cares and makes an effort to make sure we are comfortable and happy. The apartments have what is needed and are well designed. There is no microwave or dishwasher. However, meals are provided and if necessary, one can purchase a small microwave to warm food. There is a stove if you choose to cook some of your own meals. The food is good. One thing to consider, you don't have to shop for food, cook your meal and wash dishes. Not every meal is 100% but when you consider you didn't have to do anything other than show up for the meals, the meals are satisfying. There is also an alternate menu to choose from so there are plenty of choices. Three meals are provided daily. There are fresh baked muffins daily along with fruit, flavored water and coffee at the self serve station. There are many activities to partake in as well as multiple transportation options to take you to appointments, shopping and events. We are very happy to call Solstice Senior Living at Guilford our home."

"I went to tour here. The layout was very nice. It was very spacious and very clean. The rooms were very nice in size. The staff was average. They have the same amenities as the others. They have a hair salon, a movie room, a dining room, a private dining room, and a library."

"My mom is at Southmayde Homes. They have choices of rooms, i.e., a smaller room, a mid-sized room or a large room. All of them are perfectly able to live in because they're not in the room all day. They are very caring and very interested in each individual. The food is excellent. They serve breakfast and lunch, which is their biggest meal for the day and then at night, they do a lighter fare of food. The dining area is lovely. They set it up like a formal dining room. "

"Nottingham Towers is a secure building. Nobody can get in if they don't have the right key. Even the front door is guarded with ladies who work in the office, which are the most extremely over the top kind of personality women. They're wonderful and helpful. They have services for the older people, community luncheons, and there's always something going on. What I really like about it is the laundry and the mail rooms are on the same floor, which means no one's gonna be messing with your mail. I also like that on each floor between the apartments, there are sitting areas with couches and love seats. I pay very little to live here and I praise the Lord for it. I'm very comfortable and I feel very safe. It's working out well for me and my son. I've been here since February. Linda and Shauna run the office and treat everybody special. "

"We’re going into Masonicare at Ashlar Village. My husband has Alzheimer’s, so eventually, he will be going into a different stage. Included with our monthly fee will be our electricity and all the appliances. They do housecleaning every other week. There is a meal plan if you want to, but we took a villa and I intend to do our cooking there. We have the availability of the dining room or during the day they have another restaurant where anyone can go into if they want to. They have card playing and arts and crafts. They have everything else that you can find in most type of organization. I know other people that have moved in there. It is very highly recommended in our area. This one has freestanding buildings either cottages or villas, which I like. You can have your own garage and laundry. When we opened the door to this place, it felt like I’m home. It’s a nice, huge place. They have apartments and some you can just rent them by the month. They have the healthcare facilities right on the premises. It’s convenient and it seems to answer all the questions. "

"My mother-in-law is staying at Masonicare in Wallingford. She is in long-term care, and they're very good and accommodating. She is in a newer room that they had remodeled. It's a beautiful facility, and their staff is very good. The food is mediocre but they're very good at keeping the residents active. They also go out in the community and things like that."

"Heritage Village is very nice. They have tennis, bowling, and crafts. The place is very friendly and safe. I would recommend the place. They have a library, and the public library is only a block away. They have men’s and women’s clubs. The staff is very courteous, and it’s a big place. "

"I was very impressed with this facility. From the secretary to the President (who was very visible and accessible) my Grandmother, the residents and all visitors were treated with such respect and kindness. I very much looked forward to my visits and my Grandmother loved being here because she met so many great friends. There were also always activities going on throughout the day such as games of chess, trips to local shops and weekly movie nights. I also really enjoyed the food. It was served in a fine dining room where the waitstaff wore tuxedo shirts and bow ties and the food was very high quality. If there ever were any issues the waitstaff, hostess and manager would all make themselves visible and would accomodate any special requests.It was an expensive facility, but it provides you with so many great opportunities and experiences. There is a pool, library, store, bank and even a hair salon all on the premises. There is also a health-care unit which is staffed with many able nurses. This was an empowering community for my Grandmother and I am so glad that she was able to stay here and that I had the privilege of spending time with her and all the wonderful staff. "

"It is a more modern facility. It has some nice places to be inside like nice balconies, verandas, a nice park in the middle of it, and wide hallways. I went on the tour twice. One was a more in-depth tour, and one was less in-depth. The food was okay. The sizes of the rooms were not as large as I would like. They were average sizes. For what I was looking for, their sizes were too small. For the facility's atmosphere, I felt like I was walking into an upscale hotel."

"I visited Luther Ridge with my son. It was very nice. The people were nice. They have lots of things to do. They have things that older people would enjoy doing. They have a bus that takes you where you want to go. I thought Luther Ridge was very nice except for the fact that the rooms were small. "
