"Heritage Village is very nice. They have tennis, bowling, and crafts. The place is very friendly and safe. I would recommend the place. They have a library, and the public library is only a block away. They have men’s and women’s clubs. The staff is very courteous, and it’s a big place. "

"My mom is at Southmayde Homes. They have choices of rooms, i.e., a smaller room, a mid-sized room or a large room. All of them are perfectly able to live in because they're not in the room all day. They are very caring and very interested in each individual. The food is excellent. They serve breakfast and lunch, which is their biggest meal for the day and then at night, they do a lighter fare of food. The dining area is lovely. They set it up like a formal dining room. "

"It is a clean & secure facility. I understand however that seniors must shovel their vehicles out during the winter months & that the grounds need to be maintained better during this time."

"Chestnut Grove-New Milford was small, very friendly, and very clean. I liked the staff and all the people I met there. The size of the apartment was good. The staff all knew their jobs. They're very good. They serve dinners and a buffet breakfast. There wasn't lunch in independent living. All the rooms had a refrigerator, a stove, and a sink. It was dated, but it was homey. It was not like walking into a five-star hotel. I think that appeals to a lot of the older people who were moving in there, and most of the people who were in the independent side were with walkers."

"I love Glen Crest, An Independent Living Community. It's very, very nice. They have little balconies. They have all the needs I wanted, but the price is too high. However, you can have a pet there, they have parking, and they have a dining area. I like it a lot. The staff who gave the tour was great. I checked the dining area, and it was very nice."

"I have been acquainted with this facility since my grandmother was a resident here back in the 1980s. It was a wonderful facility then and continues to be. At present I am a daily visitor to a long time friend and am most impressed with the care and attention residents receive. The facility now follows The Planetree Model of care which makes it an outstanding facility. There are many daily activities for residents as well as many choices of dining rooms for residents to choose from. Meal preparation is of a high quality and staff with few exceptions assists residents in their meal choices. Rooms are spacious and extremely clean and kept up. Interactions with staff are wonderful throughout the course of my visits. I find the administration and the staff are superior to many other facilities. I heartily recommend this facility. As a licensed social worker I have visited many area nursing homes and found this to be the best in the area. "

"Crosby Commons (Wesley Heights - Wesley Village) is my top pick, although it's not a brand-new community. The staff is just amazing, the food is great, and the people are very friendly. They are doing work on the grounds and it looks absolutely amazing when you look out. It's a very active community, and it just seemed that everyone that's living there really liked living there. There are so many activities, it feels like the staff members like working there and they know all the people and call them by their first name. It's very clean and beautiful inside. They were redoing all of the grounds and also the inside."

"The staff at Crosby Commons at Wesley Village is excellent. The food is also excellent, and the people are very caring. I have nothing but the best to say about them. My mother-in-law has been there for years. She has participated in a lot of the activities, and she has enjoyed most of them."

"Whitney Center was very nice. I like everything that they do for the people that lived there. I had a meal there and it was very well done. It was like a high class restaurant. Their rooms were like apartments and it had lots of closets and space so people wouldn’t have to condense as much as you would think when you move in there. "

"My mom moved into the memory care unit. They give me a lot of feedback, and I'm very happy. They make phone calls to tell me mom's okay, and that's a big deal for me. I feel like they've become kind of a family. When I call the front desk, it's like the staff knows my number and knows that I'm calling. I have high hopes. I'm afraid to say everything's perfect, but right now we're doing really well. We're a little more than two weeks in, and I'm very, very happy, and mom's happy. I visited mom through a glass window, and we can talk through that. It's not ideal, but because of the virus situation, it's what we got right now, and I'm very happy."

"I visited Masonicare at Ashlar Village. I like it in general; it's very clean, modern, and new. The apartments were roomy and had lots of closet space with washers and dryers. They had lovely dining facilities, and they had a luncheon place that was also very good. They had villas that were very nice, roomy, and very clean. We had lunch there, and it was excellent. They had swimming close by, and they had transportation if you can't walk to that. They had bowling, wifi, a gym that was nicely setup, card games, service to a lot of activities outside, a little movie theater, and an auditorium where they had programs and people came in. They had a choral group that sang for other residents. We have friends that are there, and they like it very much. The staff were excellent. Everybody was so friendly -- all the residents and the staff -- and they knew everybody's names. And they were fairly priced. "

"Tower One/Tower East was really nice. The staff members I met were very nice. I saw a one-bedroom and that was nice. They have different things for you to do. They put me on a list. I've received mail from them wanting to know if I'm still available for wanting to move in there and how far up my name is out in the list, so they've been nice."

"It was a community of varying living options, like cottages and free-standing villas and apartments. They had all kinds of amenities. We had lunch there, and the food was very good. The dining room was very attractive. The residents we met seemed to be very happy and very enthusiastic about their living situation there. "

"I found The Plaza at Clover Lake. My parents aren't in there yet, but the place was beautiful. It was clean. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were friendly and warm. The place was very nice, bright, and airy. They have a beautiful patio, and it overlooks Clover Lake. The lake goes all around the facility. When we were there, the foliage was just absolutely gorgeous this time of year. They have a gym, an activity room, a nice big library which has two computers and a printer, and a theater room. They have a beautiful dining room and a beautiful main living room with a fireplace and a pool table. "
