The staff at Bishop Wicke Health & Rehabilitation Center is excellent. They're very professional, always pleasant, and very prompt with any questions. I have no complaints whatsoever.
The facility is very well kept up, very clean, and very welcoming. The grounds are beautiful too. They go out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible during the pandemic, which is surprising as it's a very difficult thing to do. They try to accommodate my mom as much as possible during the pandemic so that she can see her family.
They have a lot of different activities. They have indoor activities and they're starting to have outdoor activities. They've done bingo, crafts, and outdoor activities for Mother's Day. My mom mentioned music, game playing, and some dancing that didn't include family because of the pandemic, but they are saying that they will be able to include more family eventually. I know that they said that before the pandemic, they were able to have picnics outside with the family, but as of now, they have not been able to do that.
We have not been able to sample the food as family members, but my very fussy mom, says the food is very good there. We've made a couple of requests that my mom enjoys and they accommodated. They told us to just ask and as long as it's safe within her medication list, she can have it.
I think we are getting what we're paying for. She's getting good care, everyone is very friendly. They remember, not just my mom, but each one of my sisters and me. They remember our names and who we are. They remembered to tell us my mom's needs especially because my mom has dementia.
