"I've been to Meadow Ridge at Redding for a visit. It's all beautiful and wonderful, but I can't afford it. It's very expensive. The apartments are gorgeous. They are very large. They have a full kitchen. They serve you two meals a day. It's a luxurious place. Most of all, they have some wonderful activities. "

"My mom is a resident of Keystone Place at Wooster Heights. It is very much a welcoming home. The residents and staff are very friendly, helpful, and supportive. They have a two-bedroom, a studio, and a one-bedroom. They have a good variety of apartments. They have a great program of activities. They have bingo, karaoke, happy hour, and movie nights. They have their own theater, library, and workout room. They do non-denominational church services. They have a lot of people that come in for activities to play the piano or sing. They have activities around the holidays. They do have painting classes and a lot of puzzles. It's all in one building, so everybody can intermingle. My mom is very independent. Although she has Alzheimer's, she goes down to dinner regularly. She gets three meals a day, which is good. She has a small kitchen, mini-fridge, microwave oven, countertops, and cabinets. It's definitely worth the money. It is a little bit expensive, especially now that they've moved mom into assisted living. But I would say we feel very good that my mom's there and secure. The nursing staff is awesome also."

"My mom has been a resident of Atria Darien for 5 years. She was quite independent when she arrived and availed herself of the many activities such as, lectures, movies, fitness, etc. She enjoyed the programs, made many friends and loved the atmosphere of the facility. She has a beautiful room and feels at home at Atria. Now, she requires aide and medication support. The staff have been consistently accommodating, helpful and lovely in addressing my mom's needs. I know that she is getting good care in a wonderful environment. "

"I felt that The Village at South Setauket was very nice, very comfortable, and very friendly. We toured for independent living, and the apartment they showed us was on the third floor. It had a walk-in shower, which is what my husband and I would need. However, when we went in, there was a big hole in the driveway that needed to be fixed. Other than that, it looked very clean. The people were eating when we got there, and they were very nice. The staff who gave the tour was also very informative, congenial, and very nice."

"Atria Stamford is more of an open place, but they do have a memory care section, which is very good. If I had to pick a place, Atria Stamford is probably one that I would pick for myself. I brought my wife down there at one point when we were making choices, and I was surprised at what their response was. They wouldn't accept her. It is a building of about nine floors, and the residents go up and down in the elevator. We felt like she would get confused by the elevator. Nevertheless, their food was better, and they have more activities. It was also clean and cheerful."

"My husband is at Edgehill. They have lovely grounds. The people are fabulous, very nice, and kind. It is a very nice place. The staff members are wonderful. The food is excellent. I like everything about it. The management and nurses are lovely. My husband had a stroke, and they have him up and walking. I think he's doing well there. The rehab facility has single rooms, and they are very clean."

"Bishop Wicke was a nice place and I liked that it was all in one floor. You walk in and it feels like you’re walking into little apartments. The location though was not good for my dad. "

"Wesley Heights at Wesley Village was very nice and very clean. The staff was excellent. The rooms were very clean, it was excellent living. You'd have to bring your own furniture, but it was very well kept. We saw their menus, and they had quite several different dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff answered all my questions, and gave a tour to both my wife and me. While I was taking a tour and discussing the location with the director, my wife was taken to an activity with one of their staff people."

"The staff at Crosby Commons at Wesley Village is excellent. The food is also excellent, and the people are very caring. I have nothing but the best to say about them. My mother-in-law has been there for years. She has participated in a lot of the activities, and she has enjoyed most of them."

"It is absolutely beautiful. It has plenty of options for what kind of room, how much care you need, and how big a place you need. However, it was a little over the budget at the time, with what Mom wanted to spend or what she was expecting, so it was a bit of a sticker shock, and so Mom kind of got cold feet with the whole thing. The people who were running the tour were great. They were fine. They did a great job. They showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to find out. The place was only a couple of years old; it was just a great place."

"My mother was very happy with Tower One; it’s just that their waiting list is kind of too long. I thought that it was really decent, and my mother was happy with it so I was pretty much happy with it. My mother has a sister here, and that’s why she likes it here. There are a number of activities you can do there. They have a little church, sometimes there’s bands, plays, and movies. "

"Whitney Center was very nice. I like everything that they do for the people that lived there. I had a meal there and it was very well done. It was like a high class restaurant. Their rooms were like apartments and it had lots of closets and space so people wouldn’t have to condense as much as you would think when you move in there. "
