"If your reading this review, then clearly you're looking for a place for your loved one to go and must really care about them, so it may be worth the read. I was placed here after an accident falling off a ladder. I was a resident in their Apple Rehab Watertown short term facility for a month. I was finally discharged today and here is a honest perspective on what I saw from a 37 year olds perspective looking in at your elderly loved ones current situation in life. The nurses and aides care, really care about their residents. Probably love them just as much as you. They do their best to make the experience as pleasurable as a nursing rehabilitation place can be. No patient wants to be here. But this staff does. It's a hard job. Nurses here stay an hour or more after their shift change to make sure every detail about their resident is passed on to the next. The social worker, Joni (everyone's favorite family member) and administrator (the nice blond lady in the lower office 😁) go out of their way to make the experience go as smoothly as possible. Behind the scenes there is a lot going on and if you took the time to actually stand around this place for 2 days you'd notice everyone is working their tail off to make this all happen; And they are great at it and wouldnt, not for a minute, jeopardize their medical license to provide sub par care. If there is something you don't like, speak up and let them know nicely. They will immediately help the situation. The food is hospital food. Some meals are amazing at times, but remember the there are dietary restrictions for a reason. If you don't like what's on the menu, feel free to Uber Eats your loved one a meal, you. It was easier for me. What your loved one wants the most is you. You, to help them through this hard time in their life...If you can't make it everyday, then you better call or video chat bc it will make their whole day. I can't tell you how many rooms of residents I visited while here and every single one of these wise old souls said something about the last time they heard from x or y in their family. You were this person's whole life and they love you. Companionship is key. You want the best care, send them here. You want the best life for your spouse, parent, sibling, grandparent especially, then if you can't make it, coordinate others to come stay and visit with them. If not, you better call them and not for 5 minutes. A broken heart can kill you but this staff won't. And I mean this. I had an experience that was life changing. I never did many visits to hospitals and others things of the sort often before this and I will say after this, I will visit as often as possible to anyone this situation, bc I know personally, it will trully make their day. Hopefully you will make the best choices for your loved ones and this review will put in perspective what your loved one really needs for care beyond what this great place provides. Also, to all the nurses and aides and staff in general, thank you for helping me get through my days here making the experience pleasurable in the Crestbrook block and treating me like family.
