"The tour we had at Middlebrook Farms at Trumbull was very well done. It was done with the director of community service. We saw every place. We saw the various locations, the dining area, the rec area, and the other areas. I didn't talk too much to the staff. We met with the director and a couple of other people on the staff, and they seemed very nice. They had activities as far as games and television. They were doing some renovations."

"My father has been a resident at Maplewood of Darien for 5 months. We have been very pleased with his care. His room, which is a studio, is very generously sized , the handicapped bathroom is large and the kitchenette is perfect for him. The staff is very attentive. When I am there even for the shortest visit, invariably a staff member will knock on his door to check on him. They have a broad range of activities. My father's favorites involve the outings such as scenic drives, concerts, plays and luncheons. He enjoys having lunch with a good friend he has made at the facility. Maplewood also allows me to coordinate his care with the V.A. where he receives his medications. The managing and administrative staff is very responsive and are always working to develop programs that the residents enjoy. I would highly recommend this facility."

"For the first Saturday of every month, my church youth organization and I would visit Spring Meadows to entertain the residents. The facility always appeared to be clean, beautifully designed, and well-furnished. The flowers, sprawling staircases, and chandeliers made the facility a beauty. The staff was always kind and helpful. The dining staff would always bring delicious, baked cookies and beverages for us. The residents were always respectful, and encouraging. The staff also helped introduce each resident to one volunteer. This made it easier for everyone to become well acquainted. On another occasion, I received the opportunity to volunteer for Spring Meadows. When I visited the facility to complete an application, the front desk receptionist was courteous and helpful. She immediately handed me an application, answered any questions I had, and even offered to give me a tour of the facility. Although I received a call to volunteer, school and other priorities made it impossible to do so. In the near future, when I have more free time, I plan to volunteer. "

"We had a good experience with Meadow Ridge. There are people who are very active there and they have programs. We visited twice and we had some of their food, but it was not a sit down, so it's difficult to really say. It was quite expensive."

"Atria Darien is a wonderful home for my mother. The staff is always helpful with any concern my mother may have. All the activities keep her busy and involved with life. The social interaction is rewarding. The apartments, social rooms, exercise studio and dining room are all top notch. "

"I'm a resident of Spring Village Stratford, and I've been here for about a year and a half now. I absolutely love it here. I love it, love it, love it! They're very helpful. They are here all the time, ready to help you with anything. You're assigned people to help you as your aides. They're always there for you. No matter what questions I have, whether it's for nursing or doctors or whatever, they help me with everything. They take good care of me, they really do. They're just excellent. Food is excellent, too. It is always very, very good, very tasty, and you always have choices. The facility is beautiful. Today I went down for mass, and the room was wonderful. It is very clean. I actually don't participate in activities too much, because I'm kind of a loner, but they have many things. They certainly have a mass for me every Sunday. They have news every day and get-together on everything that's going on. They have activities all day long and every day. Like this week, they're having a little activity here with 'Make an Irish gnome for St. Patty's Day.' That's always fun to do. There is another one for me to look into, and that's a Perry Mason mystery, and that's for one of the afternoons here. They have easy listening piano all the time. They have bingo and rosary. They have so many things. Value for money is excellent. Everything is beautiful and amazing. It is affordable. I'm a little tight for cash because I don't have any family or whatever to help me. It's all on my own. So, it's a little difficult. but they help me as much as they can."

"My impression of Carriage Green is it is a very nice facility. There is nothing not to like about it. They have everything there. They serve good food and have nurses on the staff. It had nice rooms, but I can’t afford $5,500 a month. "

"I like the atmosphere at Benchmark at Split Rock; it is a very caring place, and it has everything I want. It was very clean. "

"When I walked into Long Hill Home, I realized where the name Just Like Home came from-it is just like home! I didn’t know what to expect because I have never been in such an intimate memory care home. It is perfect! Everything is new, clean, spacious and beautiful. A lot of homey touches everywhere to the pretty bedspreads and matching bathroom shower curtains. Each room is different. I love that all of the furniture is there. All my mom has to do is bring her clothes and toiletries and she can move right in. Each bedroom had their own TV, I liked that too. Each resident’s laundry is done separately, so there is no mixing up of clothes. And whatever my mom requests, foodwise, will be on the shopping list. Can’t beat that! I loved the whole atmosphere. The caregivers were sweet and attentive and really seemed to love their jobs. They seemed knowledgeable in memory care and treated my mom with love, kindness and respect. It is really a special place. We are happy we found it."

"I saw Dogwood Home featured on Channel 12 News and I was very intrigued. Never had I heard of this concept, an actual home for seniors who have memory loss. When you arrive at the home, you pull up to a house in a lovely neighborhood, and that was our first impression of it feeling like a home. Once inside, the home was meticulously detailed for seniors; wide hallways, special sinks, showers that you walk into. My dad really loved the bedrooms with private bathrooms, and the idea of someone cooking and cleaning for him! I loved the way the caregivers were so warm, loving, kind, and the way they looked after the residents there. Very warm and inviting."

"The rooms are very bright with large windows. There are one-bedroom apartments in the memory care unit which is hard to find. The dining room is big and the food is very good. There are always snacks, fresh fruit and cookies for in between meals. The staff is friendly and very patient. The communal areas are nicely furnished. There is always something happening, like a music concert or dancing, games, puzzles."

"The staff at Atria Stamford has been very nice and very kind. My relative is in the memory care section and we have an aide from an outside agency coming in to watch him 24 hours a day. They have activities to keep the residents busy like arts and crafts, bingo, and they have a library where they read and get books on their own. There's a snack bar where the residents can just go and get snacks, and they also do exercise and therapy. The staff is superb, and with all that's going on they still have a smile on their faces. The food is unreal, and the place itself is spotless; it's very clean. Their activities are great, and they take the residents out for a ride on the bus and drive around or to wherever they're going and bring them back. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Most of the rooms have a view overlooking Stamford, which is fantastic. You walk in, and the girl, Joy, in the back who answers the phone says hello. They seem to know everyone else's names. I met the nurse, the program director, and assistant director, and when they see you they always ask how you are. They're very warm."

"My mom is currently at Brighton Gardens of Stamford. We moved her in December shortly before the COVID situation happened so that impacted everything. The staff is good, and her room is very nice; she's in a 1-bedroom. Their dining area is nice. Normally they have activities when it's not COVID. There are all kinds of things, there's flower arrangements, exercise classes; they have a variety of activities. They also have a hair salon. The food is fair, but because of the COVID situation, they had to shut everything down even though we're still paying for everything."

"I was at Edgehill. It was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. The social worker was extraordinary. It was very nice. The building itself was clean, nice, and neat. It was a wonderful experience. They have physical and occupational therapy. They offer other things, but I didn't want to do them at that time. The staff members were very courteous. They took care of you. They're always watching out for you. If you call for somebody, they come right away. The food was good too."
