My mom is currently at Brighton Gardens of Stamford. We moved her in December shortly before the COVID situation happened so that impacted everything. The staff is good, and her room is very nice; she's in a 1-bedroom. Their dining area is nice. Normally they have activities when it's not COVID. There are all kinds of things, there's flower arrangements, exercise classes; they have a variety of activities. They also have a hair salon. The food is fair, but because of the COVID situation, they had to shut everything down even though we're still paying for everything.

The tour I had at Brighton Gardens of Stamford was just fabulous. It was very informative. I met a lot of the staff and I felt like I was informed about putting my mother-in-law in that facility. I met with Helene, who took me on the tour and showed me the facilities. I also met their administrator, their head nurse, and the physical therapist people. I toured the two available rooms (a one-bedroom and a studio), the dining room, and the outside gardens, and they talked me through the whole thing about transferring her to Connecticut. They actually made me a pie and it was really good.

I chose Brighton Gardens of Stamford. I toured the whole place and met with the head nurse, the physical therapy guy, and the chef. It's not the prettiest place I have seen. I interviewed a number of different facilities, but there was something very homey about it, and the staff was very warm and welcoming. I just had a better feel. I got to see a couple of rooms and toured the building basically. There's a lovely patio and a walking trail. It was really nice. I'm looking for a studio because I will be there no more than 60 days and it could be only 30 days depending upon my recovery. A studio apartment would be just perfect for me. I walked in and they were having a St. Patrick's Day party. There were balloons all over and the kids from the local Irish dance school were dancing, and all of the residents were sitting around and clapping and tapping their toes to the music. There was all this Irish music going on and it was very jolly. When I left, the chef provided me with the best apple pie I have ever eaten. It was all boxed up with ribbons and they sent me home with that, so I thought that was very nice.

We toured Brighton Gardens of Stamford. The look and the feeling there are very comfortable. It's very clean and very safe. There are lots of rooms for privacy that are small, not like a big hole but with easy chairs, carpeted, a TV, and looking out on a window. The dining room is very nice with a carpet, tablecloths, and flowers. It's quite a lovely room. There's a grand piano, and they have entertainment. There is a recreation room and another little room with a Scrabble board. My sister's room, the one she will take if she chooses a studio, is small but it has everything that she needs. She can fit a queen-sized bed, a nice table and lounge chair, and a TV on the wall. There's a nice window that looks out onto a woodsy area. There's a kitchenette, a large storage closet, and there's a clothes closet bathroom. About 10 steps out in the hall to the right is a small, but 3-chaired, comfortable sitting room with a table, a TV, and two nice windows. So, it has nice little places for privacy. The feeling of it was, very comfortable, and homey. The person was very knowledgeable and gave me all the information I needed this morning. The financial person, the director, called me and we spoke for about a half-hour about what the different levels are with the progression of depression in her physical health might be, a lot of good information. They can do a virtual physical assessment because she just came out of the hospital, and she's not in the state. She's going through a traumatic life change from independence to dependence. They did not let us try the food there because of Covid. She can talk to the chef; the menus look very good. I saw the tables while people were eating. I did not see the physical therapy room, which overlooks a balcony. I think that's a very good thing to have in place. They are pet-friendly. From what they showed me and from what I talked about on the phone this morning, I would say that it's very doable. I really couldn't say, I just think it's very nice for someone like my sister, and that's a very individual thing.

Brighton Gardens of Stamford was very nice. They're very polite, very courteous, professional, polite, and willing to show me everything and answer my questions. They even offered that when my husband will be discharged from rehab, they will send a nurse to evaluate him so they can come up with a plan and the price. I saw the room and it was nice, too. However, it was just too small for the price they asked for, and for me, comfort is more important than anything.

My husband will be moving into Brighton Gardens of Stamford. It was a clean older building, but I think they maintain it well. They also had a nice menu, nice food options, and a lot of activities. It seemed like there's something always going on. I went on a Sunday, and they had plenty of things for people to do. They had beautiful grounds in a nice secluded area. I viewed the common areas and saw one room. They were very clean and very orderly. There were aides and nurses helping people to get from their room to the dining hall and things like that. They've got very friendly staff. They have the skilled nursing on-site, which is important for my father. The price point was a little better than others as well. I spoke with the director, and she was very accommodating.

I visited the memory care area of Brighton Gardens of Stamford and it was very nice. It almost had a New England kind of bed and breakfast cottage look about it. It looked very comforting and relaxing.

Brighton Gardens of Stamford was older than the first place we went to, but it looked aesthetically appealing. The staff was very friendly, the facilities were smaller, but they seemed pretty good. They had lots of activities, there were stuff going on when I was there. The rooms were nice enough, they weren't high-end, and it's like a 3-star hotel. It was a nice community, they had a pet dog that roamed around, and it was a very open, nurturing community.

The place is outdated needs an overhaul. Prices are high already and then they raise your rent for no reason. Food is mediocre at best. It's clean though. No smells. Care is good when there is enough staff which doesn't happen too often. Workers look tired.

Brighton Gardens is not the fanciest place, but I think they take the best care of the patients. My wife has been there for a while now, and she is doing well. They may not have as many activities as some of the other places. My wife is in the Alzheimer's unit, but they keep them pretty busy, and they always have attendants close by. The medical services are very good. My wife doesn't mind the food, but I don't particularly like it. The staff is very good. The building is good and adequate. It is on two or three floors, whereas most of the other places have eight or ten floors, which would be confusing for the residents.

The staff at Brighton Gardens of Stamford are very good and have a good sense of community. The only negative is the place is not as nice as the other places I’ve been. They don’t have as much common space for community activities.

Brighton Gardens is very nice. It is low-scale, but very nice and very private. The apartments seemed to be nice, and the view is very nice; it is a country setting. It is nice and large. They try to provide entertainment and things for people to do. Of all the ones I have visited, their prices are a little lower. They have games and activities for seniors, and they have outside entertainment once in a while.

I moved my husband to Brighton Gardens last month. They had a beautiful wood garden outside. They have a very affordable private room with private bathroom. John's room is on the first floor. It is small but it is perfect. There are at least two caregivers in the same room with the residents and that is something fantastic. He is happy there and well taken care of. He has no memory and they tell him everything. They give him shower, he is always very clean, shaved, and his teeth brushed. I am so happy. I go there in different times to make sure every body's hands on and I hope it stays that way. He loves the food and they have fruits. The services are very clean. The tables are very neatly set. Tomorrow is Valentine's day. They are having a little party for the residents and I am invited to have dinner with them. They also had activities in the morning like chair exercise and stretching for 20 or 40 minutes. They put in music, they have some trivia questions and they divide the residents into three groups and do games. They bake cakes, do puzzles, play bingo and they play word games. Honestly, I am very happy with the service and the care. My husband is clean, safe and happy. That's what I want for him because that's what he can appreciate. They are also less expensive than the other one like almost $2,500 cheaper.

I have my father in Brighton Gardens. This facility is near my home. We chose this one because the facility for memory care was a nice area within the building. Also the staff ratio seemed good. The building itself is well-maintained. The memory care area is cheerful. My father's room is nice. Their residents appeared to be happy when we visited and that is something that is important to us. They have activities for them. Overall, I'm pretty happy about this place for my father.

Brighton Gardens was less expensive than the other facility we visited. I was impressed with this facility. It looked nice, clean and very beautiful. The people there were absolutely wonderful even the fellow that runs it. They did a hard sell. However, it should be made know that it's private pay and that there's no transition to anything else. You have to start looking for another place a year before you run out of funds to go to a different place. It's tough for an elderly person who had made friends and got used to a place that they have to be booted out.

Brighton Gardens seemed like a very pleasant facility. It was clean too. The staff that we met there seemed very pleasant. However, their rooms were a little bit small compared to what my parent is used to.

Brighton Gardens is really hit or miss, especially when it comes to dealing with many of their staff members. I feel like there are no full time employees as it always seems to be different people working each time I visit. However they are all trained and knowledgeable and very caring for my grandma. She has alzheimers so she appears well most of the time and because of that she does not get the attention she needs. Either me or my mother visits everyday not to do certain tasks but to maintain a presence at the facility. Other than this, the grounds are in luxurious north stamford in a quiet wooded area. Inside my grandmothers apartment is very nice and I would even live there myself if it wasn't intended for elderly people. The food is alright but the staff really needs to force my grandma to eat more because she doesn't think she's hungry.

My grandmother lived in Brighton Gardens for 2 years. The place itself was amazingly beautiful and the experience was great. She had her own bedroom which was cute and quaint and we enjoyed bringing things to her to make her room more personal. The cost of the facility was pretty expensive though and my grandmother feared running out of money to stay there. But we assured her that if she ran out of money she'd never have to leave. She did leave when she moved to North Carolina to be with my parents, as her health had declined. The facility offered her the opportunity to be independent at the same time safe because of the staff that was always there. It was a very positive experience for her. Stamford, CT is her home town and being close to those she loved, and those relatives around her that were getting older, definitely made some of the last years of her life positive. She is now 93 years old and failing in health, but those were very good years for her at Brighton Gardens. Friends she made and connections that she kept were invaluable to her and visiting there was a thrill for all of her many grandchildren.
