"Belmont Village Rancho Palos Verdes is very flexible and accommodating to increase the level of care based on each client's requirement. Everything is modern and clean. It's very upbeat. Mostly older people were socializing, having meals together, doing outings, and that kind of stuff. It was very festive around the holidays. They were all very friendly and informed, and everyone smiled. They have dining areas that are very spacious and nice. The residents order from a menu, just like you were in a restaurant, and there's lots of access to snacks and all that between meal times. They have a beauty parlor, a gym, rooms for crafts, and other special events for people who want to do that."

"I have a family member who lives at Palos Verdes Villa. The staff have been nothing but kind, very accommodating, above and beyond. I've found them generous, responsive, and unbelievably hard-working. The facility itself I found clean, well-maintained, in a nice area next to a large park. I'm hugely grateful knowing my family member is safe, comfortable, well-cared for. My experience with PV Villa has been nothing but positive."

"Harbor Terrace Retirement Community was very nice and pleasant. The size of the rooms was bigger than I thought. They have a salon, and it was very good. The upkeep was very pleasant. There were no odors or anything like that. The staff members were very nice, direct, and pleasant. I was able to pass by their dining area, and it was very big and nice. It was also very clean. They have a very clean and nice area for parking."

"My sister has been at Vista Del Mar for two years. While her health has declined, the care she received has ramped up! She has a degenerative muscular disease so when we moved, we wanted the reassurance that she would be well cared for. I can’t say enough good things about this facility. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is delicious. The staff is WARM and CARING. She feels like she is living with family. There are fun activities, field trips, movies, cooking classes, etc. It’s like Adult and Elderly Camp! Other residents have the same claims. They really enjoy being in a place where family is always welcome and the staff treats clients with kindness."

"We went to Bay Towers at Bixby Knolls. We loved it, but the price was too high for us. But it was so clean and so nice. It's a beautiful facility. Everything was well-kept. I liked that the floors were clean, and the rooms were maintained. It was a nice community, but it was too independent from my father-in-law. The dining room was beautiful. They had a nice table and nice chairs. It's also like their social room. It was very clean. They had a nice garden. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and very informative. The doors in the rooms were very wide and each room had a different doorknob like a bird, an anchor, or a butterfly. So they customized them for the residents. We wish my father-in-law could have done that, but he's beyond that level of independence. He needs more assistance."

"The rooms are various sizes and configurations, bright and cheerful. Everyone on staff learns personal information about each resident in order to be well acquainted with them making them feel very welcome and comfortable. My husband has been on the memory care floor for two full years at this point and he has always received excellent care and attention. I am treated like family when I am there. The chef and his team are excellent. I have joined my husband for dinner many times and even when I am not able to stay for dinner I do give his dinner a taste test. Everything has always been top notch. I do visit with the others on my husband’s floor and those who are able to, agree that the meals are always good."

"I did visit Ivy Park at Culver City, and it's more high-end and more expensive than the other place. It's in Culver City. It's in a nicer area. They showed me a room and the dining area. The staff was very nice. It was like rooms around a garden, and their memory care looked a little more upscale. They can't bring their animals into the memory care, but what they did was they would have stuffed animals."

"We were really happy with Terraza Court. I went to this facility, and I highly recommend it. It's nice. Even I would want that for myself, that's how much we love that facility. And I love the attention that was provided to us. I forgot the lady's name, but she attended to us on that day. They allowed us an opportunity to check the entire memory care floor. We were able to tour the dining area and the outdoors where they would walk the patients. It was very clean. No smell that the other facility had, so I know how clean it was, and the care being provided to the patients is really up to par. Even the restrooms for the vacant rooms that they had available were very clean, well-updated, and maintained. Even my mom was happy with Terraza Court."

"Studio Royale is taking very good care of my friend. They're very kind and they take care of his medications. They have a beautiful room for him. He has three meals a day and they have recreation there. The staff is wonderful. I've had a couple of meals with him there. They offer rides to the doctors and his dentist appointments."

"Lakewood Park Manor provides a healthy environment, excellent food, comfy amenities and activities for all residents. It is a safe place to call your new home. I have wanted to post this 5-star review on behalf of my mother. She highly recommends this place. The care my mom receives at this facility was definitely appreciated by all of our family!"

"It is a home in Lakewood. It is an older home. They put their money into having great caregivers. It's not fancy. The care was outstanding. There are ramps for wheelchairs and walkers. There are two patients to a room. Most were bedridden. All of the meals are freshly cooked for whatever the patients want. When my mom first arrived there I would sample bites of her food. I liked it. If she didn't like it, they would make her something else. Every bedroom has a med size screen TV. The comment about the caregivers sitting on couch is dumb, where else are they going to sit? They do not stand over the patients and stare at them until they need to eat or have a diaper change or be bathed or be helped to the restroom if they are ambulatory. It never smelt of stale urine. Of course there will be odor when a diaper of feces is changed. When she could still get up, they helped with her exercises. Caregivers are allowed to have breaks just like any other workplace. Most of staff are continuing their education to be RN's. My mother loved her caregivers there. My mother had a lot more personal contact there than my mother in law does in the $7,000.+ place in Culver City."

"My favorite place is Ivy Park at Cerritos. I went there two weeks ago. I liked it, and they invited me to the Easter egg hunt last Friday, so my mother and I went. They asked us to stay for lunch, so we sat in the dining area, had lunch, and everything was perfect. It seems like it's well-managed. There were lots of employees and all the residents living there are all well taken care of. There's a lot of help. The staff was very nice. It was very clean. There are a lot of facilities, a lot of places where residents can go and play with puzzles or Monopoly or something. There were lots of rooms for them to enjoy themselves and be together. I liked it. The atmosphere was very friendly and very open. Residents were walking around when you walked in. They're very friendly, saying hi, and welcoming us."

"My daughter, a longtime resident of Santa Monica, found this place for me, an elderly widower. I am glad she did. The location is perfect, across the street from the beach, and near the pier. The 10th floor Activity area with inside and outside facilities, has a beautiful view of Santa Monica harbor and its surroundings. Outside entertainment is brought in and there are in house activities for every taste. Transportation is provided for medical appointments, shopping, as well as errands. There is a lot of variety in the meals, and they are tasty. The staff is great, particularly the activities department. They know your name and are most accommodating. The residents are welcoming and have interesting backgrounds. I love it here and know you would to."
