"We really wanted to go to Belmont Village Rancho Palos Verdes, but they didn't have any two-bedrooms available. They were very friendly. We got to meet the chef, and they will cater the meals to you. The food was excellent, too. They were very warm and accepting. The marketing director was very sweet. She tried so hard to get us in there, but we could not wait for a two-bedroom unit to be available."

"It was very attractive with very bright colors, open areas, and lots of windows everywhere. The staff is very nice. They have a little room where they listen to music and have movie nights with popcorn. The food was excellent. "

"My father has been placed in Vista Del Mar's assisted living and they have been wonderful. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they call to make sure that everything is going OK, and they want to see if there's anything extra that they can do or provide. I'm very pleased with them, and everything there is fine. They have many activities there. He gets physical therapy, they have card games, dominoes, chair exercises, movies, dances, and casino nights. They have a wide variety of activities; today they had a barbecue for Father's Day and they invited the family members to come participate. They really are very good. "

"Palmcrest Grand Residence was a very nice facility. They have a memory care section, other than just assisted living. It was clean. I liked that the memory care was on a different floor than the regular assisted living. It was a smaller area, but they had more staff watching them. They also have a courtyard and a patio area. The woman who gave the tour was very nice and very attentive. She's actually the person that referred us to the skilled nursing home, where my mom is in right now. She went out of her way to help us."

"I toured Westmont of Culver City. The facilities are very new. It is very nice, clean and organized. It looks like there's a lot of space, and the staff seems to be quite professional. The staff members were very responsive, too. They greeted us quickly and they took care of us. They seemed very helpful and professional. They offered us some snacks and drinks, but we didn't take any. The atmosphere felt okay but it felt like a shopping mall. The layout of the rooms was very modern. There are wide hallways and high ceilings, so it felt very open."

"The tour I had at Coral Oaks Care Living was decent. The staff was very friendly. They were really good with what they needed to do. I did not care for the facility as much though. I felt it to be outdated, and it had more of a hospital feeling to it. It seemed a little outdated from what other living situations were. The rooms were OK. It's more of the environment that everyone's in. So, they can't really move anywhere else besides the rooms. There weren't really facilities to go anywhere, and then their outdoor facilities were very basic. It was just a concrete patio and a wall around them. I understand that it is winter, but there were no plants. I could see there would be nothing to do, and if I was there and I was elderly, I would be bored out of my mind. I believe their rooms were shared or one room. It's like a hospital room setting where you can have one room for yourself or you can have two and you share. It's OK because you pay a little bit less for that. The reason I'm also listing it as a three is because they have a salad bar that they offer at all times of the day. You can just come over and get some potato salad, macaroni salad, and stuff. It was 11:00 when I went to go to see this facility, and it looked like they were out the day before, and then they put it back out. I would not eat it, and I would not have my father eat it. Nevertheless, the staff was willing to answer any questions. They showed me everything I needed to. They were going to work with me on all my dad's issues that he had."

"We toured here, it is a very nice facility. It's a nice old historic building, and they've done a very nice job remodeling the entire interior of the building to a modern configuration. They have studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments. Each floor has a different kind of care, and each floor has got a central social area that's nice with its own little cafe, a dining room, and a main kitchen. There was onsite nursing and it was a full-term facility. The person who gave the tour was very professional, very nice, and extremely informative. We've observed the people doing a social activity on one of the floors. there was a rooftop garden with a nice view and a library, and the lower level of the building had a gym that they can use for physical therapy. The people were mostly individualized. The person who gave the tour was really friendly and the tour was very good."

"I was disappointed with Bentley Suites by Serenity Care Health. It looked to me like it was a converted apartment building into a home and it was just very small, almost depressing. I didn't like it, but the lady was very nice. The staff seemed like they were friendly. They were mostly out in the courtyard. I was on the second floor because I had to go down some stairs and they don't have an elevator, but they have a lift that takes people up and down. Their TV room was small. Their kitchen was moderate. It was a humble place, but it was almost too dark. I went about 11:00 and it just seemed the sun was being blocked, probably because of the ginormous buildings around the place. It didn't seem very, very warm, but it was OK. It's kind of pricey because it's Santa Monica, but for the extra thousand, I'll send Mom to the other facility instead."

"My mother is in Welbrook in Santa Monica. I like that it specializes in memory care and is very clean and open. I like the openness of it because a lot of the places we were looking at that had assisted living and memory care would dedicate one floor to the memory care, and the people were isolated. This is only memory care and it has two levels, so they have access to both levels. The staff is very friendly and helpful, caring, and skilled at redirecting. It's very new. They take the residents out to the beach or to the park. Pricing is average compared to other places."

"My grandfather was in this facility for 6 months. Every interaction I had with staff was pleasant. The facility is clean and they provide daily activities for the residents as well as a monthly theme with a party. Birthdays are celebrated monthly for all of those in the month. My grandfather's mood would change from crotchety old guy to flirting old guy and the staff was patient with all of his various moods. As a family member they made us feel welcome and never degraded our requests. Those that they could not meet, they told us why and helped us with other options. When he passed they grieved with us. We are very grateful for this facility. "

"My friend David moved out to this living facility some months ago. He always told me that this was a wonderful place to live. I thought he was lying, but I visited him some days ago, and I could believe what beautiful was this place. My friends room was very comfortable and clean and the staff was really good. I really liked this place. I said to my friend that this place was much better then my house. I think my friend is enjoying living there because it's an excellent living facility. I will recommend this facility to my friends for sure. "
