Glasswater Creek of Plainfield was kind of new and it was very clean. They had a sitting area as you walk in the door where I think a lot of people or residents come down and sit. The outside area was a community area where everyone went out. It wasn't just a courtyard for individual apartments. We did not try the food there but one of the things Mom liked there was they offer once a month where the residents can come down and do hands-on cooking if they wanted to on a special dessert or something. Mom liked that idea. As far as the apartment area, the kitchen cabinets had a lot more storage and everything. I know there are no ovens in them, but it made you feel like you were in a small kitchen and then the bathroom was off the bedroom, which was big. To me, that made a lot more sense. What I didn't like about it was that it wasn't one level. It reminded me more of a motel than an assisted living. The staff was very helpful. They went through all the paperwork and explained everything. Mom could see a doctor there at the facility instead of having to get out. She liked that. She still could keep her special doctors and they explained all that about getting her out and going out to eat or shopping or whatever. The staff was very knowledgeable. As you went in the door, the back side of it was the dining area and it seemed like people were sitting around the tables after lunch and doing card games or something. It seemed like more people got together down on the first floor instead of being scattered around the facility. They were all in that area doing different stuff.

Glasswater Creek of Plainfield is very nice. The moving coordinator and the marketing person were very professional and very helpful. They helped us coordinate a smooth transition for my brother from one assisted living to another. The facility is beautiful. It's only three years old, so everything is new. They're putting him in a one-bedroom apartment but only charging him for efficiency (because they don't have any efficiencies available). So, he's in a larger apartment than he would normally have. There's lots of room and lots of light. He's got an end unit with lots of windows and a huge kitchen. The only downside is storage, but other than that, it's nice. They have a movie room, an exercise room, a PT room, laundry facilities on each floor, entertainment (last night, he went down and watched the sock hop and the Elvis impersonator), and a transportation van that takes people out on outings or to the stores or when they arrange special events. The staff helped coordinate medical transportation, too, which is very nice.

I moved into Glasswater Creek of Plainfield. I've only been here a month. They have a lot more activities than the other place I was at. They provide transportation. They take us shopping. Something is going on all the time. The rooms are small, which is to be expected, but they're not extremely small. They're a little bit smaller than what I had before. Cleanliness is good. The staff is very nice and willing to help. They've been having trouble keeping a cook. We got a new cook and it's just not up to par. I think they could be better.

This community is beautiful and the staff are top notch. My family and I are so happy we made the right choice for our mother. The new administration and Dietary team are doing a great job moving things forward. Thank you Glasswater for letting me rest at night while you take such good care of my mom.

I toured Glasswater Creek of Plainfield. It's the one we're considering. It's closer to our home, about 15 minutes away. The facility is very clean, the residents seem to be clean, and their clothes are clean. I've seen the menus and spoken with the chef briefly, it seems that they will be able to accommodate all the kinds of things my mother-in-law likes to eat. They're willing to take a Medicaid waiver which is important to us because she has a very small income. The rooms seemed to be set up nice, and they have room for her right now. All the staff I met were very nice, I saw their interactions with the residents, they were kind and patient.

The room at Glasswater Creek of Plainfield was beautiful. The place I'm going to is a studio with a kitchenette in there. They have dining downstairs on the main floor. They come and bring you the menu for whatever you want to eat, and their chef is top notch. I've tried the food, and it was great. I've seen residents doing different things like arts and crafts. They play bingo, they have a recreation room, there is a movie theater, and it's really nice. It's clean, it's just nice, and it's a beautiful place. The staff was very pleasant and informative. The chef who cooks the food there has been on the Food Network -- the food is fantastic. The rooms were clean, and the setup with the rooms is really great. It's really nice out there, and I have no complaints about them whatsoever.
