"Majestic Care of Carmel Assisted Living was very nice. They have a lot of amenities. They're undergoing a major renovation in the entire building. They've been doing a very good job of upgrading the rooms, the common areas, and the dining area. They're doing everything they said they would do. The staff members were very friendly. Everyone spoke to us, introduced themselves, and told us what they did as we walked by. They have craft rooms, game rooms, a theater, a library, and sitting areas. We're looking at a two-bedroom, two bath with a kitchen. We saw the food and it smelled good. The dining area was being completely renovated. We saw it where it was about probably 80 percent done, and they were doing a really nice job. I don't know if they're expanding it, but they have really brightened it up, there were lights, and they were putting down new carpeting and new flooring. Upkeep and maintenance looked very good from what we've seen. They have a schedule of activities that they put out every month with everything that's going on each day and where it's located. They also published a menu for the month. They seemed to have good staff there, and it looked like they were well covered."

"I toured Rose Senior Living at Carmel. It was very nice. The staff members were very friendly. The dining area was very nice, and the rooms were very nice. I saw regular kitchens. We looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath. Upkeep and maintenance of the facility were very good. It's a fairly new facility and very well taken care of. They had a really nice outdoor area up on the top of the building with grills and tables, and it was well maintained."

"The studio room is relatively small; however, as it has turned out is plenty of space for our mom. My mother has been in the Memory Care area for 2 1/2 years. We are so very happy with her care and treatment. They all seem to care so much and do absolutely everything they can to please her and help her. Anything we call about or ask for help with - they are more than willing to help us. We feel very lucky that we were able to get our mom in at The Harrison. The food looks decent and it is a very sizable serving."

"Harmony at Avon was excellent. I could be very happy there. The views were lovely. The place itself was well cared for and very nice. The person I spoke with was very accommodating, but very articulate. She could explain everything to me very well and was extremely nice. I ate there in the summertime, and it was good and had nice choices. I saw them doing some kind of crafts, and people were involved. They were the very best that I've seen in closets and storage."

"We've decided to leave my dad at the Sanders Glen Assisted Living. The best thing about the place is the care that the people get. The staff is friendly and very kind and loving. He has been there for like six years. The staff is very caring, and professional, and they're on top of things. The food is not well-prepared, there's not a lot of variety, and not as fresh as I would like to see. I would suggest they add more fresh items and more variety, less gravy. They have activities like games and they bring in concerts. They have a gym and a salon, and they have a small courtyard."

"The hallways are very wide with very nice decors at Magnolia Springs Bridgewater, so it is very homey. They have studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. My father’s apartment has a kitchenette, and it has a separate bedroom. It is big enough for what he needs. They have a chef, and he is good. They take residents to other places like doctors or shopping. It is a great place. He is enjoying it. "

"A Family For Mom only takes like 4 or 5 people. The people that they had were in an advanced stage of dementia where they were inactive. I thought it was depressing. It's run by a family, and they were very nice. The place was clean. They were cooking dinner, and it looked like they all ate dinner around the table like a family. But I found the place depressing. They're taking people who are in a pretty advanced memory care stage and it's too small of a population to be diverse enough. They do the job, but it just wasn't right for my sister."

"Bickford of Carmel was a secure facility. The doors were locked and so we had to be let in. I thought that was nice, especially since a part of that facility is memory care. You wouldn't know what stage your relatives might be in when they're there. So, it was nice to know that they can't just walk away and be lost on their own. I was going to meet with Peggy, but instead, it was Caitlin who took me on the tour. She did a very good job. She took me to a nice room (just as you came through the lobby) where we sat at a large table. She then introduced me to a little bit about the facility before we took a tour of the facility. They had a movie theater, a game room where people could put puzzles together and play games, and a nice dining area. The thing that mpressed me was that the whole layout was in a large square. One thing that impressed me was the ability for a resident to be there on their own, but they're well taken care of. Then if their memory would deteriorate or if they would have issues, they could remain in that same facility and go into the memory care area. Their menu was impressive, too. They had choices that the residents could have."

"My aunt moved into the Harbour Manor & The Lodge two weeks ago. Everybody was very helpful, especially Holly, the lady that finds people to come there. She went above and beyond what she needed to do to help us especially during this time. We're very happy with the place so far, and so is our aunt. The room is very nice, and she's happy with the food that they provide. So far, we're very much impressed with them. It's a 1-bedroom apartment, and they call 'em cabins. In the assisted living she's in, I believe there's only one type of room. I know they played bingo, they took residents to see the Christmas lights, and they had some residents helping decorate like the Christmas tree and stuff, and that was during the time we were trying to get her moved in."

"Hamilton Trace was a nice facility. The apartments were nice as well. The staff was very friendly. I like its convenience to where I live. So, it would be close for me to go and visit my dad if needed. I like that it's a bigger facility, because they tend to have memory care for Alzheimer's/dementia patients."

"The tour I had at Cumberland Trace was nice. The lady was very nice. She did a good job. The apartments were fine. For me, I'd have to get rid of everything, because the rooms were small and had no real storage. Just enough room for your clothes. So, that would be the main problem for me, but the place was very nice and very clean. They watch a movie twice a week, they have a room to play games like cards, a beautyshop, a barber shop, and everything you would need."

"My dad recently moved to Fort Harrison Assited Living. What I have noticed since my dad moved in, the staff is very caring, the food is phenomenal, and you can see in the staff work how much they care about the residents. The management team is compassionate, caring and you can also notice they love what they do as well. Every time my family and I come to visit the ED door is always open and she make sure we feel welcome. Julie the BOM we love her, she is always helpful and don't mind going that extra mile to help anyone. I appreciate and glad I made the right decision to move my loved one to FH."

"I would like to share our experience with Altenheim. My mother was admitted to their care under the St, Francis Hospice Care. The staff from the director were extremely cordial and showed true loving care for mom. Any questions I had were addressed immediately and all kept us informed for the care of mom. Unfortunately she pass August 24th and they gave us all the privacy we needed. If you or a family member need a caring facility, these people are the best in my eyes. Keep up the great work. I will be visiting them quite often even though mom has gone home to be with others."
