"My wife and I just moved here to Sunrise on Old Meridian in April. We like that it is in a great location. It is a very nice facility with all the amenities and just a good quality place to live in. The only thing we do not like is the restrictions brought about by COVID. We do not have access to family guests and visits. Hopefully, things will change soon. It is not the fault of the facility though. We have arts and crafts. There is a movie channel that you can watch either in the theater room or in your apartment. There are good walking areas outside. There are a number of good areas where you can get some fresh air and walk or sit and enjoy the sundown on nice days. They also have the standard things: a beauty salon, a library, and all that stuff. The unusual thing they have is if you beer and wine. If you like a beer or glass of wine for dinner, you just tell them, and they will have it at no extra charge. "

"Our Mother was in memory for 9 months at Rose before she passed. If I could give them 10 stars I would! The staff were exceptional — competent and caring. The food was excellent — prepared by the same staff that prepares farm to table meals for everyone at Rose. Wonderful activities for cognitively Impaired residents. I would HIGHLY recommend Rose for your loved one. "

"I am currently at The Oaks at Brownsburg. The people are very friendly, and the staff is very friendly. They serve 3 meals a day. We have activities and we go on outings sometimes. There's a lady who comes and cleans my room once a week. Most of the staff are very friendly. If you have a problem, they will make sure that it gets to the right place. They keep the grass and everything pretty good."

"Traditions at Solana is pretty good. The staff is mostly caring and helpful. My loved one has a one-bedroom with a living room, a bathroom, and a tiny kitchen. She wishes there were more fruits, vegetables, and salads instead of so much meat and potatoes, but the food is OK. Communication is not so good. The dining area is very pretty and spacious. "

"I was very impressed with Harmony at Avon. That was number one on my list of the three that I visited. I was very impressed with the director. She's very empathetic. I really liked it. If my niece moved there, I was encouraged to come and have a meal with her and interact with other residents. The food smelled good. I actually know someone who is there and that person is very thrilled with it also. There were lots of activities that are offered, especially during the week. They go places, they have crochet groups, and they have all kinds of stuff. The staff was very good."

"Sycamore Reserve is more for just senior living rather than assisted living and that suited me really well. I like the arrangement of the apartments and it's a nice place. It's a very nice place to live in. Everybody I met was friendly, they just didn't overdo their sales pitch and they let me reach my own decisions. They always explain how things are, and that was nice. They have 14 different floor arrangements in their apartments. Everyone I met on the staff was just real down-to-earth, polite and nice. They didn't mind joking with the residents, and they're very friendly. They were having some entertainment, a group was playing music and singing. Now, there weren't too many attending that. They were getting ready to set up the happy hour in the main lobby and were setting it up when I got there. The people were sitting around, talking and having a drink. When getting there, the traffic is the only drawback that I can see. It's located near a community hospital and that's where my doctors are affiliated with. They gave me a menu, they have a continental breakfast every morning, a nice lunch, and you can have whatever you want. It's just pretty nice. They had a nice dining room. On the upkeep, they had a cleaning service that I could get if I wanted it. Each one of the apartments had its own laundry, a washer, and a dryer, so you wouldn't have to hire anybody to do it for you. And I can have my grandkids come and visit, and they say I don't have to do any yard work. There's a nice swimming pool which is open when the city pools are open. And they haven't been open because of the COVID. The people taking the tour had to wear a mask. It was well kept up. One or two of the apartments that we've looked up were still under renovation. After residents leave an apartment they always go in and redo everything."

"We prefer Meadow Brook Senior Living. We chose it because of the amenities that they had and the condition of the facility. They have a lot of fellowship-type things that my sister would like. They had a library, a book club, and cards. It was just a very nice, friendly place. The staff was very friendly and informative. The facility was very clean. I was just very impressed. It was very nice. The closet space could be better."

"I toured Traditions at Reagan Park. It was very nice. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and knowledgeable. It's just that I felt hurried. I saw the menu, and it smelled good and looked good. The facility was very clean."

"My husband has moved to Northridge Gracious Retirement, it's a very, very nice place. The facility is just beautiful, it is very elegant looking and everything is very clean. They have a fantastic activities director, they have great food, and the price that we pay covers everything including his cable. There's no cost for him to do anything, and giving him extra to eat doesn't cost anything. Everyone that I have met has been super nice people. They're caring and they get to know the people that are living there. They have two, husband and wife, assistant managers there and they're there 24-7. They're great. And if you need someone, they have two emergency lights in my husband's room, one is in the bathroom and one's in the bedroom. He accidentally set off one of them, and someone was there right away. The staff is out there working like they'd bring out coffee at mealtimes, and the chef is a very personable guy. He comes up at the end of the meal normally, and he serves coffee. It's just a very homey atmosphere. I can go and have meals with him any time that I want to. If you go during dinner, which is in the middle of the day, it's a big meal, and it costs $7 for your visitor. If you go during dinner, that's a light meal so that's $5 as well as breakfast, if your visitor is having breakfast there. The food is very good, I have eaten there several times and my husband's happy with it. It comes out hot, it's always delicious, and they get plenty. The activities are a lot of fun, and the director is just a little bombshell and she'd have fun with the people. She has something going on all day, every day. The young lady that showed us around, her name was Kelsey, and she's just a super nice person. She showed me three different kinds of rooms and he picked out a studio apartment. It has a large refrigerator but they don't have a microwave. They have a sink in the area where the refrigerator is and they have a lot of cabinet space and large closet space. They have a back patio with all kinds of flowers, and the lawn is always neat and clean. It just presents itself to anyone as a very well-taken care of place. They had very nice activities like they had a prom for them, they take them to the casino, and for the Fourth of July celebration, they had a band. I'm just real pleased with it and I wouldn't mind living there myself. I feel that it's worth what we pay."

"The rooms at Hamilton Trace were small but decent. The staff was good. Everybody was friendly. Everybody was kind. The marketing people that I talked to were very compassionate, nice, and helpful. They came highly recommended to me by several people. The intake people were especially good, informative, honest, and open about what was available and what wasn't. They didn't have a room available and they were honest with me about that, but I told them that I'd still like to see the place and they took me and they were very cooperative. They're very popular so it's hard to get in. They had lots of activities."

"Mom is at Independence Village of Fishers South. The staff and residents are nice to each other and to the new people. The size of the community is manageable. All of the necessary places where someone would need to be are on one corridor. The apartment size is very nice. Mom's in a one-bedroom with a small living room, and a little kitchen area with just a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink. It's adequate and the people have been very accommodating. One downfall is that like everybody else, they are having trouble finding a staff person, like someone who would give insulin at night, for example, but they're trying to work on that. It's run a little differently. It's an age-in-place community, which means that in the ideal situation, mom would stay in her apartment and get increased help as she aged. They have bingo and card games. Mom expressed a fondness for Skip-bo and before the week, the marketing director had set up a Skip-bo teaching lesson to include some of the other staff and see if Mom got to try and find some people to play with. They also have movies, both Catholic and Protestant services and Bible study. They are an animal-friendly community. They have a resident cat and several of the residents on the first floor have little dogs. There are several people, including the marketing director, who bring in animals. One of them brought in baby goats one day, and one of them brought in baby pigs. This week they have newly hatched chicks and the residents are very fond of them. They have a happy hour every day at 4 where you can imbibe or not. They have outings and they provide buses to go to appointments. So, they have a lot of different activities. They have several sitting areas and there's an atrium area outside where they have encouraged people to come down. There's fruit and flavored water and coffee available down the lobby at all times. They have a wonderful maintenance man named Cleo and another person that works there who will come and help you in your apartment if you need help."

"I will be moving into Encore Boutique 55+ Apartments - Plainfield. It's limited to people that are 55 years and older. It is a new facility that opened up in October or November last year, and they were still filling the vacant apartments that they still had and I was able to get one of those. The place is very nice and new, and there are a lot of amenities that I liked. There are lounges on all four levels of the apartment complex. There is a fireplace and lounge area in the main lobby. There is a gym facility with machines that people can utilize for exercise. Entry into the buildings is controlled by a fob that allows the tenants to open the doors, which are locked all day long, and the only people that have those fobs can enter the building. They told me that if there were ever to be a need for me to have any kind of assistance from a company that would provide that, like somebody come into my apartment on a weekly basis and help me with medications or something like that, that they had some contractors already available in case I needed them. If I need to have assistance with housecleaning or laundry, they have people available that I could hire for that also. Right now, I don't need any of that. I'm pretty much on my own and I love it that way. I have a one-bedroom, and it's almost as big as the two-bedroom apartment that I'm currently living in. It's very nice and wide open. I couldn't have picked a better place. They offered me a deal where if I signed a two-year lease, they would buy out the end of my lease at the place where I'm at. The staff is very friendly. They told me that if I needed any help when I move in to have some curtain rods installed on the windows, the maintenance people would be glad to come and do that for me. It's brand new, so there's not a whole lot you can complain about. They have a really good maintenance staff. They're friendly and they're willing to do anything you ask them to do because they all have the attitude that it's a new community in Plainfield and they want to put their best foot forward and the object to them is to make the tenants as happy as they can to make it more of a close-knit community for everybody to enjoy one another. They do not have a dining area. Being a community for people that don't have to rely on other people to cook their meals or eat meals in, they don't offer that. I think that's why they have four lounges, one on each floor, plus the main floor, there's an area where people can sit. They have a bar and some tables where people can sit and communicate with one another, but they also have a refrigerator where they have a beer and wine for the tenants. Anytime they want to sit down there and talk with one another and just sit around and enjoy each other's company, they can also enjoy something to drink. They have snacks every once in a while. There's a lounge on each floor and the second floor is a mini-theater where there's a big-screen TV that's about 6 feet wide. They got 12 to 15 theater seats in there, and you can go in there and stream Amazon Prime or any of the movie channels, stuff over the internet, and view those movies on that big screen TV in that theater on the second floor. I can't wait to get over there at the end of the month to be around people that are my own age, people that I feel more at ease with than the people in the community that I'm living in right now. I'm glad I'm moving into a 55+ community. They're all friendly. They're willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy and to make you feel comfortable in the community. It's so new, but you see maintenance people around there, running the vacuum and keeping the wood floors cleaned and waxed up. The facility is beautiful. They do a great job of keeping it up. When I saw Encore 55+, I said there's no sense in looking anywhere else. I'm completely happy with that place."

"The people at The Oaks at Plainfield were really nice. That place was beautiful as soon as I pulled up the driveway, but it was just a little too expensive. If I could have afforded it, I would have taken a shot there. It's a ranch style living with green grasses around. They had everything from a pool to a little patio over there. It almost looked like a brand new place. They also have a little breakfast bar there in the mornings."
