"I am currently at The Oaks at Brownsburg. The people are very friendly, and the staff is very friendly. They serve 3 meals a day. We have activities and we go on outings sometimes. There's a lady who comes and cleans my room once a week. Most of the staff are very friendly. If you have a problem, they will make sure that it gets to the right place. They keep the grass and everything pretty good."

"I toured the Grand Victorian of Greenwood. It's a lovely place. They asked me to stay for lunch, and they were very gracious. They weren't trying to sell me anything. They are just really nice. It had a microwave and a refrigerator. It had a mini kitchenette type, but it was nice. It was OK because I've seen some awful ones, not even a countertop big enough to put a coffee pot on. So, this was good. It would meet my needs, but the price goes way up from independent living to assisted living. There are three meals a day. It's a nice place."

"Writing reviews for assisted living is difficult. You have to remember you’re dealing with humans, and no one is perfect. They have ups and downs. I will say that overall the ups far outweigh the downs at IVoWZ. My dad lived in their memory care for almost a year before he passed away from Alzheimer’s. It was during the height of the pandemic. I feel that Independence did a fantastic job caring for him and keeping us connected. When my dad was transitioning, they allowed me to be by his side. I will be forever grateful. My mom is currently in assisted living. She gets great care, and I’m very involved. On the occasion there is an issue, I call and talk to the appropriate person in charge, and the issue is resolved. Again, I feel that’s what is important. Can issues be addressed and resolved. Things don’t come up very often. I can usually take care of the issues my 87 year old mother is requiring! The facility is clean and beautiful! I love the staff. I have a great relationship with so many of the nurses and aides. You will get to know them by name and they will know you by name. They become extended family. There are all kinds of activities and outings too. It’s really a busy place! The food was on a down, but they are correcting that. That’s an example of management listening. I’m giving three stars for food because they’re still working on it and I haven’t tried it since the new chef has started. My mom seems to be happy again though. Staff gets a four ONLY because of agency. That happens occasionally now, but there was a time that it was the norm. "

"Astral at Franklin would have been our second choice because it was closer to home. They had a meal plan on some kind of ticket voucher, and we didn't like that. It was new, so they didn't have any planned trips or things to do during the week. But it was brand new, and it was really impressive. Everything was up to date; the countertops were new, and the bathrooms were impressive. They have a nice kitchen. They have a big patio open area where you could go out and grill. You could sit out front in rockers or whatever. The staff who showed me around was very professional, friendly, and helpful. The facility was excellent, everything was perfect."

"My mom is here. I am really happy with the service that we are getting there. They are very caring people. It has been really a good experience so far. They have a library, a room for church services, and an activity center where people can do crafts, puzzles, and different projects that they want to do. The amenities are very nice. They have several dining rooms for different wings. The food is average. They are doing a good job and seem to be interested in helping the residents. "

"My father-in-law will be moving into Hamilton Trace. I like the facility. The apartments are very spacious. They would supply all full-sized appliances and a washer and dryer. They were very pleasant and very knowledgeable. They answered all our questions. They had an outdoor space, but I did not go out there because it was very cold."

"Northridge was a new facility, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was definitely more of a retirement or an independent living community. If you do not need the assistance, it is phenomenal. It was gorgeous. The staff was very nice. The food was very good. I was very impressed. The rooms and apartments were very nice. They had wide hallways and wide doors. The dining room was great, and it was very open. "

"We visited Park Square Manor. They offered a tour bus to take into town and to doctor's appointments and places like that. The staff answered every question I asked them. "

"I'm in a three-story apartment building for people 55 and older on a fixed income and it's Thornbury Pointe. We have bible study once a week, we have cards a couple times a week, we have Friday night movies. There are activities. People just get together and talk. The staff is very good. Our manager loves to cook and so she'll fix lunch for everybody. We have a nice kitchen. It has a dishwasher, a nice stove, and a microwave. It's gas heat and gas hot water. The maintenance man here is very nice and very knowledgeable in how things go. That's the only two staff members we have. The people here all get along pretty well. We tend to help each other if somebody is down or sick. We try to take them down to dinner, or if they feel like they're closed in, we'll all go out to lunch or something like that. We help each other. And then besides the three-story building, they also have some cottages with garages. You can rent a garage there. In this building the mail comes to the first floor in our mailboxes. Packages are delivered to our door. We have trash bins at the end of the building. It's very well-maintained and clean. The layout is very good. You come in the main door and there's an elevator that takes you up to the second and third floor. And as you get off the elevator, there are signs to tell you which way the apartments are or whatever apartment you're looking for. The value for the money is pretty good, and we have just received Section 8 clearance."

"The Westside Village was real nice. It was close to town. Everybody was real nice there. It had good activity program with transportation, just about anything that a senior would want. They had card games going on. They like to go on trips. We ate a meal there; it was very nice. They had large rooms. Their dining room was excellent; the facility was excellent. "

"I toured Woodland Terrace of Danville. The best part was that I would get an apartment that nobody had ever lived in before. So, everything was brand new. It would make a difference in the cleanliness and the newness of the appliances and all that. I did not like the layout of the apartment though. The staff was super nice. It was super clean. I felt very much at home. I was going to go with them right away until I had a chance to go to the apartment I'd be living in and then I realized that it was a lot smaller. It was just too hard to figure out the placement of my furniture where it would go."
