"I am currently at The Oaks at Brownsburg. The people are very friendly, and the staff is very friendly. They serve 3 meals a day. We have activities and we go on outings sometimes. There's a lady who comes and cleans my room once a week. Most of the staff are very friendly. If you have a problem, they will make sure that it gets to the right place. They keep the grass and everything pretty good."

"I toured the Grand Victorian of Greenwood. It's a lovely place. They asked me to stay for lunch, and they were very gracious. They weren't trying to sell me anything. They are just really nice. It had a microwave and a refrigerator. It had a mini kitchenette type, but it was nice. It was OK because I've seen some awful ones, not even a countertop big enough to put a coffee pot on. So, this was good. It would meet my needs, but the price goes way up from independent living to assisted living. There are three meals a day. It's a nice place."

"Great communication between nursing and administrators and family. The assisted living staff allowed our family to get her apartment ready with all of her personal things. This made my aunt feel so comfortable. The dining room is nice and airy and food is great. This is the happiest my aunt has been in months!"

"Magnolia Springs SouthPointe was my top pick. However, it wouldn't work for my sister because of its openness, and she needs to be restricted. I like the openness of it and there is a lot of light as you walk in. The cafeteria has light. I would go there, I probably couldn't afford it, but I would go there myself. My sister is college-educated, and she was finding a hard time with conversations with different people where she is now, and so she would like to be challenged conversationally, and that might be available there more because of this mix of people. Cody, who gave me the tour, took his time and was very knowledgeable. He said hello to people by name and that impressed me. He is just the marketing guy, but he knew the people and that was very good. They have a chef and I looked at the menus and those are very impressive. I think my sister would be more interested in what I saw there than other institutions that I've seen. The facility is only six years old, so it has that clean feel and there are no smells like you would get in some of the more hospital-like facilities. After looking at eight of them either virtually or in person, it seemed like it had everything that all the other ones have including the salon. They have a little gift shop or a little mini-store, and not all of them have that, and so that was nice. Almost all of them had a TV room, but theirs was more comfortable and more theater-like."

"I toured American Village. It's clean and well-kept, and the staff was very good. It has two levels and a more open atmosphere than the other facility. It's very good, comfortable, and welcoming."

"Spring Mill Meadows Garden Homes was great. I've dealt with one person and she was very nice, and the place was lovely. I saw the 2-bedroom and the 1-bedroom. They're very, very nice, and they talked to me about their amenities. They're individual little bungalows and not in a building."

"The apartments are very nice. Each apartment has its own washer and dryer which is very convenient. There are two settings for dinner. The staff are friendly and helpful. They offer many daily activities."

"I visited the independent villas and the assisted living apartments at Traditions at North Willow. It's pretty awesome. I loved the villas. They were large. They had a sun porch at the front and back, a full-size washer and dryer, and a full-size kitchen. The living room that you walk into when you enter the home was really large. I felt like it could fit all of my parents' furniture. They wouldn't even have to sell anything. The bedroom had a sunroom attached, which was large enough for a couple of chairs and a table. It was really spacious, and it made you feel like you weren't in a cramped little apartment. It was sunny out, and it's just really nice, but my mom wants an apartment because she doesn't want to bring a car. They have a garage. The staff was very accommodating, gave me all the time I needed, and answered all my questions. Everybody there was really nice and responsive. I've even reached out since then with questions, and they're always really helpful and kind. The atmosphere was really good. The independent living was great, but the apartments in the assisted living were what is making us not want it because they're a little small. I liked it a lot, but there were only a few choices of apartment layouts, plus it was just a kitchenette. I wish there was an oven and stove, but there was not. I talked to Mary quite a bit there, and she was really kind. I really liked her a lot. I just wish I could put in a stove to bring my mother there."

"Zionsville Meadows was older, so the rooms were pretty large. They were in the process of remodelling the common areas. They had a nice dining room. The staff was very nice. I’ve heard some negative things from some people who had relatives there. "

"Traditions at Solana is pretty good. The staff is mostly caring and helpful. My loved one has a one-bedroom with a living room, a bathroom, and a tiny kitchen. She wishes there were more fruits, vegetables, and salads instead of so much meat and potatoes, but the food is OK. Communication is not so good. The dining area is very pretty and spacious. "

"Astral at Franklin would have been our second choice because it was closer to home. They had a meal plan on some kind of ticket voucher, and we didn't like that. It was new, so they didn't have any planned trips or things to do during the week. But it was brand new, and it was really impressive. Everything was up to date; the countertops were new, and the bathrooms were impressive. They have a nice kitchen. They have a big patio open area where you could go out and grill. You could sit out front in rockers or whatever. The staff who showed me around was very professional, friendly, and helpful. The facility was excellent, everything was perfect."
