"Mom moved into Meadow Lakes. She had been there before for respite care when we went on vacation and whenever we're looking for memory care, and she seemed to like it. It's an all-women's facility, so that worked out really good for us, too, because I kinda heard stories about men and women being together. Because of Covid, everybody's locked down, and I miss my mom. The staff members are all very nice. According to mom, food is really good. I have not seen her room because I haven't been able to go back to her room, but she has not complained about it. She's in memory care, so they work with her every day on different things, trying to work with her memory. I don't know what they do in the memory care right now, but before Covid, they would take them out on little group tours. When I checked around, there were others that were cheaper, that had just women. I thought it's really important that there were no men in the area, so I really like this."

"Friendly and stable staff. Residents enjoy good times both in the courtyard and in the public areas, a welcoming atmosphere. Rooms are bright with plenty of light. Convenient to Perry Crossing , restaurants and other shopping. "

"I will be moving into The Oaks at Plainfield. They had fantastic staff and lots of amenities. The place was very clean and it had everything I needed. They had lots of activities and lots of menu choices. They had a cafeteria, a movie theater, an exercise room, and a community area with a fireplace. The staff was caring. They explained everything and gave me the information I needed."

"I am staying at Traditions at Reagan Park. I love the garden homes that I live in and the people that are in the garden homes. The staff members are very nice. They have 24-hour nurses on call. If you were to get hurt, they would come right to your house, come in, and call the ambulance if you needed it. They have a little gym for you to go into. They take you on outings. They take you to the doctor and bring you back. There's a lot of activities."

"Sugar Grove was nice. Their memory care was busy during my visit. They have activities for the people there. The place itself was clean and the building was nice."

"My dad has been in the Lincoln Lodge area of the American Village. It's the independent living apartments of American Village. They have nice spacious rooms because he has a two-bedroom, two bathroom. Very friendly staff as well. The food was decent there, I've had a couple of meals there, and they have lots of senior activities, outings, and trips. The residents are friendly. They do like light housekeeping. They do his laundry as well. It's very clean. It's close to my house, and for him it was nice because it was literally around the corner from the Meijer's, so it was just good for him to be close to the store. They have a recreation room, a media room like a movie room, and an activities center. They have a nice variety of food."

"I visited Charter Senior Living of Gateway Park in Greenfield. They have independent living quarters where you're in with a lot of other people, and then they have individual houses with just wonderful accommodations. It's very expensive. They're running around $3,000 to $3,500 a month, and that's pretty heavy, but it's comparable to the prices that I've checked all around. When I am ready, that's the one I will probably use. It's just very nice, quiet, secluded, and has all the amenities that go with it. You can have independent living, and I still have my car, so I will have a garage, and everything, just like living in a regular residential area. They're just like regular houses. It has all kinds of restaurants and a lot of traffic around the area. It's also roughly about 10 miles from my current home, so that's the one I would want to use. In the big apartment complex, they have a swimming pool, a recreational workout, and stuff for staying fit. The workout room has stationary bikes and walking paths where you can walk your dog. They have food there that they fix, just like a restaurant. The price on the big house with all the apartments was a couple of hundred dollars less than the individual units. You just come out of your independent living house and walk into the big apartment-like place, and you have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even have snacks. I've had lunch out there a couple of times, and the food was excellent. I've sampled some of their breakfasts, and a couple of times I was out there and had dinner with them. It's excellent, and everything about it is clean. It also smells good. I've found nothing that turned me against it."

"I was really impressed with Harmony at Avon's memory care unit. Cindy was the lady I spoke with, and she was exceptionally attentive in wanting to know about my mother-in-law and where she's at as far as her abilities. We had a really good conversation. I really liked their place. It was super nice. I would consider it kind of a Cadillac of all the ones I went to. It also was the most expensive, but it had a very nice facility there. The staff introduced me to several staff people there, and they were all very friendly. Their dining room was really nice. They used tablecloths, which was really, really nice. It felt like you're in a restaurant. It was really pretty."

"In my role providing care for elderly individuals with a variety of medical issues I am often asked to make referrals to facilities like Traditions at Solana. I feel very comfortable making these types of referrals to this beautiful facility. The Executive Director has extensive experience in leadership of assisted living/memory care type units. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to administer over this facility with both the strength and compassion needed to succeed in her role. I truly wish I had known more about Traditions at Solana a few years ago when both my parents, long time residents of the north side, required a move to assisted living. I would not have hesitated to have moved them to such a great place!"

"I already signed up with Traditions at North Willow. I liked the fact that I could have my own separate apartment. They're called villas. It's a two-bedroom with attached garage, and I liked having the attached garage. The community relations director was excellent. The apartment I'm moving into is brand new. Nobody's lived in it. It has two bathrooms, a fairly large modern kitchen, and washer and dryer. It's a very nice place. Their dining room isn't open yet from COVID. I looked at their brochure, and the food sounds pretty good. With your rent, you get 30 meals a month and breakfast any time of the day. 30 meals a month means you can have one a day or if you're eating somewhere else, you could have two in one day or whatever, so it's pretty flexible. They have a lot of things going on, and the people in the apartments are pretty friendly. They have an onsite activities director, who coordinates a variety of activities and many outings based on their residents' interests including musical entertainment, special holiday celebration, and summer cookouts. They have an exercise program every morning at 10:00. They do exercise in the main building, arts and crafts, bingo, Bridge games, cooking, daily happy hour, outings to local restaurants, and holiday shopping. They have a lot of things that you can do. I basically just saw the unit I'm going to move into and the model unit. It's very clean. I didn't really tour the main building where they have memory care and assisted living. This place is new. It's only four years old."

"My mother-in-law is moving into Sycamore Reserve. We had a wonderful experience, and we really liked it. The staff is very friendly, very outgoing, and very understanding of seniors and their needs. It's a really friendly place. The apartments are exceptional. Everything is high quality. The way the rooms are set up are unique. The studio has a separation in between it, like an armor, but it's big. We like the storage, and the bathrooms are huge. Everything is very nice. They have restaurant style dining, so you just order from a menu. They have food all day long that you can go and get. They have a real nice dining room, and they have a patio that you can also dine out on. They have a pool, a dog walk, they allow pets, and a nice garden area. I haven't sampled their food, but it looks good. My daughter went to see it first and they gave her a meal, and she said it was excellent."

"The garden suites at Spring Mill Meadows were very nice. I like the location near the hospital. The staff was wonderful. She said they would have a shuttle, but they don't have a driver right now because of Covid. They have some activities that they offer. The one thing that we did not like was the view. There wasn't a very good view."

"The location of The Oaks at Brownsburg was very ideal. It was right across the street from Kroger, just down the street from Walmart, and there are all kinds of fast food places. It was just a very pleasant location. The staff was very, very friendly and very caring. They understood a lot of my problems, and I was impressed with them. The food proportions were very generous, and they weren't bland. It was a very satisfactory meal. They had a place where people could gather for different activities. They had bingo, arts and crafts, and different activities for people to kind of gather and get together."
