"Overall, Rosegate is a wonderful assisted-living community for those who need it. The facilities are very modern and there are a lot of things to keep the residents happy and entertained. My grandmother has always loved playing bridge and there were several others at the facility with whom she could play. The staff was very friendly as well. The only complaint I have is that some unscrupulous staff member has stolen money from my grandmother's purse before. I understand this probably happens from time to time at every assisted living facility, but it is something to be aware of. "

"Emeritus at Greenwood seemed top notch. It had everything your loved one could ever require. The staffing seemed genuinely happy to help, something many places don't seem to be able to match. The employees are always ready to help at a moments notice, and even remember issues to aid in preventing any further issues. The food is one of the few lacking points. While the food isn't great it is far from terrible and my grandmother was generally happy with the meals they served. The rooms are much more spacious than you would expect and upkeep on them is done with extreme care. The grounds are beautiful, and you can take a nice stroll round them. The area is quite serene, it is quite and beautiful. The fellow residents are also super friendly, and it is quite easy for residents to quickly make friends. All and all Emeritus at Greenwood is a fantastic facility. "

"Magnolia Springs SouthPointe was my top pick. However, it wouldn't work for my sister because of its openness, and she needs to be restricted. I like the openness of it and there is a lot of light as you walk in. The cafeteria has light. I would go there, I probably couldn't afford it, but I would go there myself. My sister is college-educated, and she was finding a hard time with conversations with different people where she is now, and so she would like to be challenged conversationally, and that might be available there more because of this mix of people. Cody, who gave me the tour, took his time and was very knowledgeable. He said hello to people by name and that impressed me. He is just the marketing guy, but he knew the people and that was very good. They have a chef and I looked at the menus and those are very impressive. I think my sister would be more interested in what I saw there than other institutions that I've seen. The facility is only six years old, so it has that clean feel and there are no smells like you would get in some of the more hospital-like facilities. After looking at eight of them either virtually or in person, it seemed like it had everything that all the other ones have including the salon. They have a little gift shop or a little mini-store, and not all of them have that, and so that was nice. Almost all of them had a TV room, but theirs was more comfortable and more theater-like."

"Country Charm is close to where I live. It seem really nice. It's real inviting and have a lot of facilities and I don't know if they have the therapy or not, but they would have been my second choice. Everybody has a little front porch and they have their own entrance, and they have three buildings. They have a couple of choices of places you want to eat. "

"My aunt will be moving into Demaree Crossing. The rooms I saw were very nice and a decent size. It's a brand-new facility. I haven't met any of the staff other than the top administrative people, but they seemed very nice. Overall, I love the concept of the building, with all the rooms on the outside and the activity and cafeteria in the center with the nurses' station, so they are not tucked away. It's brand new, so they haven't set up the activities yet. They have a fireplace in there for them to sit by. There are a couple of gazebos in the activity center. I love that it's set up with memory care in mind, not an afterthought. Somebody put some thought in how they had set it up."

"My dad recently moved to Fort Harrison Assited Living. What I have noticed since my dad moved in, the staff is very caring, the food is phenomenal, and you can see in the staff work how much they care about the residents. The management team is compassionate, caring and you can also notice they love what they do as well. Every time my family and I come to visit the ED door is always open and she make sure we feel welcome. Julie the BOM we love her, she is always helpful and don't mind going that extra mile to help anyone. I appreciate and glad I made the right decision to move my loved one to FH."

"My dad went here after a COPD exacerbation put him in the hospital. Before the hospital he was only walking through his house and sleeping all day. The fact that they had only private rooms for rehabilitation was a huge selling point for us. My dad was on the fence about a rehabilitation place and the private room helped sell him on going. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond. My dad was concerned that they were too responsive and friendly! Physical therapy was great and they worked around his schedule so we could plan doctors appointments and other things without the worry that he wouldn't get his physical therapy for the day. The rooms were great they had a lot of natural light and a fridge for any snacks you would want to bring in. A nice side bonus is that if you bring in documentation of rabies vaccination you can bring your dog in for a visit. My kids loved being able to bring the dog in and the keurig machine that they have available for guests. Due to flu worries my kids weren't able to see grandpa in the hospital and seeing him here in a place that looked like a hotel rather than a traditional nursing home, helped calm their worry and made them excited to visit which I am sure helped lift my dad's spirits. No one wants to be here instead of home, but the staff did everything to make it a great experience. As a daughter it was nice to know people were caring for my dad and not have to worry about his recovery. It also gave me some time to get things ready for when he came home. "

"We visited Astral at Franklin. It's brand new, but we couldn't get moved in until September and we needed a facility quicker than that, so we ended up in another facility. We toured the property and went through the rooms. It was a beautiful community. We don't know any of the staff, but as far as the actual facility, it was very nice. They also had an older apartment community, and there were a couple of people living in that part of the building, but not the assisted living. We interacted with the person that does the tour of the facility, and then we had an interaction with the lady that was the cook, and they were both very kind and very nice. They had the same type of amenities as the other place. They had a movie theater, they had a workout room, they had a restaurant-style dining, and they had a hair salon. It was a very nice place. We had some pumpkin bread, just a very light meal, but it was good. Everything was brand new, so it was tip-top condition. There was only a handful of residents. They said they were getting ready to get a bus where they were going to be able to take people to their activities. But I did not witness any activities. The outdoors were very well maintained. It's kind of like a square and then they have a place in the middle where the residents can go. They had chairs and loungers and grills. It was very nice."

"Traditions at Reagan Park won't be complete till May 1st. But they're showing you the whole setup. Everything is all in one roof. It's going to have everything. I did speak to the people and talk to them. They were very nice and very courteous. The facility is going to accept Medicaid, which is a big factor with me. They're supposed to have a top chef and they're going to be serving three meals a day. They also have a dietitian that works with you if you're diabetic. It's brand new, so it's going to be very clean and neat looking. It's big, spacious, and it's going to have a movie house, too. It's got everything which is very important. It's very sharp. It's going to be beautiful and nice. "

"Traditions at North Willow was very nice. It was a little more expensive than we wanted. It was close to the hospital and things, and it had good transportation. I liked the little houses. We liked the place. The thing I didn't like was it was more in the city than we wanted. I didn't meet any other staff, but the one giving the tour was fine."
