"Demaree Crossing is an excellent facility. It's beautifully decorated and the nurses are attentive. My mother says the food is good. The rooms are nice. She's in a studio by herself, and it's small, but it's a lot better than some of the rooms in some other places. She's able to get her bed, a recliner, a dresser, and a TV in there. The staff is attentive, cheerful, helpful, and they know what they're doing. They have a lot of activities, outings, they play bingo, and have church services. Each resident has a plastic tote and in it are things that they enjoy doing. One resident who is a farmer has pictures of tractors that he had in his tote and he'll tell you about them. He also has packets of seeds. They have crafts and they made birdhouses the other day. They go on the bus and drive them around to look around or to go shopping."

"My mother in law was in this facility for rehab. I can not say enough great things about the ENTIRE staff! From the front office to the nurses and aides, they are all amazing people. They are great at their job and really make people feel at home. My mother in law loved it here and didnt want to leave! Thank you to everyone at Aspen Trace!"

"My dad is a resident of Grand Victorian of Greenwood, and they know him here. The staff is great. We've gotten to know a lot of them on a personal level. We had hugs and that sort of thing. They're all very caring and quick with the warmth, so we appreciate that. When they made the change, they made some changes to the food. It's the same chef, but they used to have Coke machines here. So they would bring them Cokes, but they've taken those out. Sometimes, the soup options they used to offer variety. Now, it's almost always either they have a choice of chicken noodle or tomato soup. When my dad first came here, he was just level one assisted. We've got the room right outside. They've got a gazebo that residents are welcome to go and sit on, and it's got a pond. They put the fountain on in the summer for people who are into ducks, geese, and a lot of animals. We've got pictures of the turtle and the egrets, and we've got bird feeders outside of his windows that he's always taking pleasure in, not so much anymore since he's advanced to a different level, but the grounds are nice. The common areas are nice, and they've got activities. They do bingo. They've got the activities director, and they take trips. It's got everything he needs. Every Wednesday, there are cocktails and concerts. So people will come in and play instruments or sing or bands or whatever; however, it's beyond his capabilities right now to engage in that kind of thing."

"I toured Bickford of Greenwood. I liked the fact that it was small. They only had 16 beds, and all were private in their memory care. It was very homey and family-oriented, which was wonderful. I thought it was a beautiful facility, but it's a little bit higher, out of the price range. The staff was very informative and caring. They're very good at what they are doing. Their goal is to try to incorporate everyone into the common area. They're set up like somebody's very large living room, and off to one side was a big bar with a full kitchen over in the corner. So, it's almost like people gathering at the bar at their own home, and I thought that was a nice touch."

"Our tour with Magnolia Springs SouthPointe was really good. The staff and the community were excellent. I enjoyed seeing the area that the memory care is provided. Cody was excellent in answering all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. It's very clean and very welcoming. They have entertainment and things going on, they do have a workout facility, they have a cafeteria. I liked most just the appearance of the facility, I got introduced to a few staff members there. Everybody made me feel important and very welcome."

"My parents have lived at Rosegate Assisted Living going on two years this fall. They are very happy there. The employees embrace the residents with warmth and care. The facility is clean, and the residents seem very happy there. They call the family members frequently to check in and I know my parents are watched over. I know that the transition from a family home to a place for seniors is a big scary move. This transition went so smoothly for my parents. They live in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment has a walk in closet and a kitchenette. It also has a front porch and outside entrance as well as an inside entrance. It’s comfortable and the main facility is nicely decorated. As a daughter who is very involved in her parent’s life, I am over all the time and have observed nothing but positive interaction."

"I was very impressed with the entire facility of The Wellington at Southport and the lady I talked to. If I had my choice right now, it would be them. I think this is a place that my friend could adjust to. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I liked the structure of the building. I think it's going to be something that she would do well in. It was very clean and it smelled very clean. It's not a brand-new facility, but it's very well-kept. The rooms are more than comfortable as far as the size, and the closet space and the other little storage are good."

"I toured Worthington Place. I liked it. They have a couple of openings right now. It's just like a small apartment inside, and it is assisted living only. It seemed very nice and very clean. They have a little refrigerator, a freezer in all the individual apartments, and a microwave. It's not that they're unfurnished, you can bring your furniture. A queen size bed will fit there and many people had a queen size bed. They have it in the wall out and then they have a sofa across the end of the bed that kind of divides the living rooms and the bedrooms. Some of them do have one bedroom off to the side. The one I looked at was just all one space and they've got the walk-in showers. They're just even with the floor. It looked roomy. The ones that they showed us had furniture and stuff in them, and then they showed others without any furniture that way you could picture what you wanted to put in there and the way you wanted it. They have good views from their windows. I thought it was very well planned out, the way it was laid out. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very informative. He was talking to us and just asked if there was anything else we wanted to see. He showed us the dining room and all the different places. They have an exercise room or physical therapy-type room. They had the space to get your hair done and everything, and then they had an outside area where if you want to go outside to that little table or just sit in some chairs and enjoy the air. They had some nice areas out there. I liked it a lot because they have a bus that takes people around to their doctor appointments or hospital or whatever, and if they do have trips and things that they can take if you want to go, they do that, and it just doesn't sound like you get bored there."

"Cumberland Trace was extremely clean. Everybody was super friendly. They did a good job checking with my dad and even with his meal options. He always had several to choose from. He had three meals a day while he was there and I thought they did a nice job with that, but the cleanliness was a big thing. The staff was all extremely friendly and very personable. They also did a good job. They came in regularly and made sure he was getting his medicines properly and all that. They were all incredibly helpful. It's a nice facility. I thought their prices were pretty comparable to the surrounding area and it was close for me so I could stop in and see him whenever I wanted and take him out for walks and stuff."

"I have moved into Sugar Grove Senior Living. So far, so good. I like it. Everybody's friendly. I haven't had the opportunity to take advantage of everything because I've been so busy moving and unpacking. I love the cottage apartment that I'm in. I have two bedrooms and two baths and then a sunroom. It's very spacious and open. I think I have as much room now as when I had my condo. The staff is very nice and friendly. They go out of their way. They ask you if you need anything and answer your questions. They're just super. The only thing that brings them down is the maintenance people. They're a little bit slow at getting around to whatever you need, but they also said that they had a lot of people moving in this week. Everything I've had has been great. They have bingo several times a week. They have card clubs and exercise clubs. They have a bible study. They have outings where the bus will take people to the Dollar Tree and the grocery store. They don't have very many things at night, which I can understand why, but for people in independent living, it would be nice to have something to go to at nighttime."

"My dad recently moved to Fort Harrison Assited Living. What I have noticed since my dad moved in, the staff is very caring, the food is phenomenal, and you can see in the staff work how much they care about the residents. The management team is compassionate, caring and you can also notice they love what they do as well. Every time my family and I come to visit the ED door is always open and she make sure we feel welcome. Julie the BOM we love her, she is always helpful and don't mind going that extra mile to help anyone. I appreciate and glad I made the right decision to move my loved one to FH."

"My father moved into Keepsake Village of Columbus Memory Care. They are very caring and they've been very accommodating. If there are any issues, they'll call us. They keep in contact with us constantly and they send pictures of him doing activities. They sent pictures of him dancing. They have people from Franklin College come in and do concerts. They helped us move stuff into the facility. They've been very accommodating in every aspect of the transition. I can call and leave a message and they'll call me back immediately. The room that he has is pretty big, and it's got a big walk-in closet. The only thing it does not have is a kitchenette. We were able to decorate it however we wanted and bring things from home that he can relate to. "

"Bickford of Carmel was very nice. It was comfortable and the people were nice. It was very small though. I didn't think it had much to offer as far as activities and opportunities to meet people, but I liked the feeling of the place. It was warm, friendly, and nice. The one real benefit there was that they were willing to work with me on respite care if I wanted to send Mom for a day or a month or whatever. In most places you have to go in for a month, and they were willing to do whatever. The rooms were a little smaller than I would have preferred for assisted living. They're kind of laid out a little strangely, but they were willing to move furniture around and stuff for you. They had a lovely courtyard. They had people playing cards and doing a trivia game. The staff were lovely. The building was just older, but the layout was OK."

"I recently looked at Hamilton Trace. I thought it was well-staffed. It had many activities. They seemed to be well-cared-for. As far as I can tell, the staff seemed to be knowledgeable. What I noticed was that they seemed to be very aware of what the responsibilities were with the other people that they were working with. They seemed to be organized. There was no confusion or that kind of thing. It was in an upscale and very safe area. It was easy to go to. It was right off a major interstate. If the people were out of town, it was accessible. The neighborhood was a very nice surrounding. I saw the activities list, and it was very similar to what I had seen at various other facilities as well. However, I cannot speak on the actual quality of the activities and how well they were run, but it looked like they had substantial offers in terms of the activities, and kept the people in the assisted area engaged in the community. At this point, based on the information that I had, I would probably make a recommendation for them to certainly look at it. I thought it was a very viable option. "
