"Traditions at Solana was nice, and we were accommodated very well. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. It was the largest of the places we visited that day, it was clean, and pleasant looking. The outside appearance and the landscaping were good. They had a lot of activities going on, they have transportation available, and a beauty shop on the premises."

"The facility for independent living allows a resident to live there and be able to still come and go. There isn't as many activities for someone still in their late 50's, but it provides a safe living environment regardless."

"I toured Rose Senior Living at Carmel. It was very nice. The staff members were very friendly. The dining area was very nice, and the rooms were very nice. I saw regular kitchens. We looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath. Upkeep and maintenance of the facility were very good. It's a fairly new facility and very well taken care of. They had a really nice outdoor area up on the top of the building with grills and tables, and it was well maintained."

"My mom is here. I am really happy with the service that we are getting there. They are very caring people. It has been really a good experience so far. They have a library, a room for church services, and an activity center where people can do crafts, puzzles, and different projects that they want to do. The amenities are very nice. They have several dining rooms for different wings. The food is average. They are doing a good job and seem to be interested in helping the residents. "

"American Village Healthcare was a very, very busy place. We saw a lot of staff dealing with the residents. I like that they're interacting very well. I saw a lot of guests, and everybody was welcoming and very friendly. They talk to you, and it was good. The staff that I interacted with were very helpful and gave lots of information. I would say that they were nice and friendly, we had good interaction. The facility is very good, it's a very big facility and very busy. It was lunchtime when we went, so it was hectic, but they were managing well. I think they had 2-3 dining areas, and I liked one of them very much. The room we saw was very beautiful. The decoration is very nice, it has a darker and more like orange decoration, but it's very nice. They do a lot of activities and different things. The staff showed me the area where they do activities and exercises. Everything looks pretty good to me. I like the outer parts of it where you can go sit by the water, which is something great when you're going to visit your relatives. You can sit by the water and they have benches and tables there, which is nice, but it's kind of secluded. I like the seclusion in a way, but getting there's a little bit difficult."

"I went to look at Traditions at North Willow. I thought it was beautiful, but I couldn't afford it. It was too expensive. The facility was large and homey. I met the activities director, and she seemed to be very enthusiastic. Independent living has individual cottages, and I like that. The one I saw was empty, so it wasn't set up, but it was large."

"I visited Charter Senior Living of Gateway Park in Greenfield. They have independent living quarters where you're in with a lot of other people, and then they have individual houses with just wonderful accommodations. It's very expensive. They're running around $3,000 to $3,500 a month, and that's pretty heavy, but it's comparable to the prices that I've checked all around. When I am ready, that's the one I will probably use. It's just very nice, quiet, secluded, and has all the amenities that go with it. You can have independent living, and I still have my car, so I will have a garage, and everything, just like living in a regular residential area. They're just like regular houses. It has all kinds of restaurants and a lot of traffic around the area. It's also roughly about 10 miles from my current home, so that's the one I would want to use. In the big apartment complex, they have a swimming pool, a recreational workout, and stuff for staying fit. The workout room has stationary bikes and walking paths where you can walk your dog. They have food there that they fix, just like a restaurant. The price on the big house with all the apartments was a couple of hundred dollars less than the individual units. You just come out of your independent living house and walk into the big apartment-like place, and you have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even have snacks. I've had lunch out there a couple of times, and the food was excellent. I've sampled some of their breakfasts, and a couple of times I was out there and had dinner with them. It's excellent, and everything about it is clean. It also smells good. I've found nothing that turned me against it."

"I did not tour there be cause they did not provide what I needed but they were very friendly and employees were laughing, They were honoring an employee in a very big way. She gave me suggestions where I could find what I need. If I was looking for their skills I would consider them."

"My mother is going to be moving next week into assisted living at Rawlins House & Fall Creek Retirement Village. She lives in the nursing home part and she's moving to assisted living. It's not as modern as the other ones we visited. It needs some updates in general. The staff was very nice."

"Zionsville Meadows was half a mile from my house and I liked it. It had the little independent houses and cottages and it's a real close walk to the activity center. Everything was nice and the price was right. It was a good choice. We also got the assisted living tour. The activities sounded very adequate, which the staff showed me, and I even met the activities person. It was an older facility, but adequate."

"Just moved my mom into independent living. After looking at several other options, as soon as my mom visited, she immediately chose Independence Village of Zionsville West. The facility is bright, cheery and impeccably kept. The apartments are very roomy and well laid out. And the staff are excellent. My brother, sister and I are so thankful knowing our mom is happy and being well cared for and will be able to transition directly to assisted living on site if/when the need ever arises."
