"I have been with my current care giver, Daniel for nearly 2 years. He is an amazing person who treats me like family. I have serious health issues and needed someone who reconized when I am getting in a danger zone and could react appropriately. Secondly I have multiple visits to hospitals, clinics, and therapies of which he organizes , schedules dates , and rides to ensure there are never any conflicts. When it comes to keeping me safe in my home he is constantly looking after me because I am a fall risk and diabetic. Home Instead also provides house keeping services, my home is clean thanks to him. I tend to clutter a bit and he keeps me straight. Frankly I don't know what I would do without him. "Although these caretakers do everything they are supposed to when spending time with my mom, the service itself is very unreliable. In the past month, there have been four times that no one has shown up at the scheduled time, and we did not receive a call from the agency notifying us of this. This left my mom in a bad situation since she is a fall risk and was then left to fend for herself at meal time. If we had known that no one was coming, we could have made other arrangements. "I've been with Amada Senior Care-Greater Indianapolis for three weeks and they've done a good job when they come in. The caregivers I have gotten recently have been just great. They were really good at helping my dad out. They'll help with some light cleaning, but they've been really good company for him. The past few people that have come had a great sense of humor and they've been able to keep his interest. They've been really good. He enjoys that. He has compression socks that are kind of difficult and they help with changing those out when they're here. Sometimes they might even shave him or help him bathe and that sort of thing, which is nice because that kind of gives me a break here and there."
