"The Harrison was good. I loved the great apartments. Even the one-bedroom, one-bath was pretty comfortable and a good size, but it didn't have a garage. The staff was excellent. The food and dining area were good, and the location was convenient. The amenities were good, and they kept the residents very busy with activities. "

"Meadow Lakes is very nice. The staff is very informative because we were there not only to look over a facility since we were never in one. It is very nice and very clean. We walked through the whole facility, it looked to be nice, and the place is very clean. She showed me around like an exercise room and various other things. She explained what they have and meetings to keep the people busy. One of the main concerns was the financing we had available to work with. So that is more of fact finding information than anything else, and we got some good answers. My brother and I were trying to become educated on the process. "

"Independence Village of West Zionville has proven to be a wonderful place my mom calls home. The apartments are lovely, and they have a wide assortment of floor plans and sizes to accommodate your loved ones needs. The health care staff has been great. They show a genuine love for my mom. The entire staff takes the time to get to know Mom, and they do the same with me as her family member who visits and knows her best. They have a chef who is wonderful! During dining time, he comes out to make sure everything is good. He has also taken special requests from my mom and follows through. That makes my mom feel loved. It also makes her very happy. Jim is the Executive Director of the entire building. I watch him interacting with residents and their families all the time. He’s very approachable and helpful. From the time I walk in, and I’m greeted by a smile and warm, “Hello Diane,” from Debra at the front desk until my departure, I feel like I’m with friends and family. When there’s an occasional issue, everyone is quick to address the problem. That gives me confidence knowing my mom is well cared for. I recommend Independence Village without hesitation. You will be happy you made this your choice for your loved one! "

"I toured Traditions at North Willow. The rooms were nice. They were set up like apartments, and not a hospital. They have different activities every day. They have a beauty shop there, they have physical therapy, and they have doctors there, so my mom wouldn't have to go to a family practice doctor. She could get a medicine prescription and see a doctor there. The staff was very nice."

"Individual rooms are spacious. Residents spend most of their time in the common areas enjoying a variety of activities. I loved the holiday celebrations, especially when I would see the videos. I remember one in particular when my mom was dancing with a staff member. The common areas are decorated lovely. Residents can move from one residential side to the other. Some residents like to walk and this allows them freedom of movement. The outdoor gardens provides many places to have family visits. I truly enjoyed visiting in the garden area. My mother lived there for 2 years. She arrived two days before the pandemic shutdown. Those were tough times for all but Grandbrook connected us through Facetime calls. That was so nice and thoughtful. The staff was always considerate and helpful. You could tell many loved my mom. I found Grandbrook to be a caring community with a heart!"

"We toured the American Village and it was excellent. We saw assisted living, we saw independent living cottages, and we were already familiar with rehabilitation. I thought the quality of the facility was excellent. The attitude of the residents that we interacted with was very upbeat. And the staff that we interacted with was very familiar with the residents and just cognizant of their situations and their interests. We did not eat, but we were in the dining room during lunchtime and talked with a lady who turned out we knew, she was a neighbor, and she was very complimentary about the food. The quality of the construction of the room was good and it was generous. The kitchen spaces in the assisted living units were more generous and well laid out. The spaces were good."

"I thought Ritten House is very nice. I love the outdoor areas where my mom could go if she chooses. I thought the rooms are nice. There are a variety of sizes from a studio to a two person rooms. The people that I spoke to there were very pleasant and very helpful. I didn't find anything negative. They have a really nice theater. There wasn't much going on at the time because I ended up there just about a little after supper. I didn't have anything to compare it with, but I really thought it was nice. "

"The dining area at Bickford of Greenwood is very airy and open. It was very inviting, neat, and clean. It made me want to eat there. It sort of reminds you of outside dining. The sanitation of this facility looked fabulous. The only thing I didn't like about it is the rooms are incredibly small. The staff was wonderful though. It was not clinical, and they seem to be very friendly and inviting. I can't come up with anything bad to say about them at this point. "
