"The staff at Amber Glen Alzheimer's Special Care Center is wonderful. They're very forthcoming with information, very helpful, and have answered all my questions. They take a phone call every time I call. My husband's room is very clean. They provide all the linens, so his bed is always clean and changed. It's very well decorated and very cheerful. He has a roommate, but it's quite adequate for two people. I think what they're charging for all these places is freaking criminal. It's way, way too high. They have a spa and a beauty salon. The common rooms are beautiful, and they have fireplaces and TVs. They have a minister who comes in every Sunday and does church. The hallways are super wide. Nobody has to run into anything. It's wonderful."

"Brookdale Urbana was fantastic. I would have gone there in a heartbeat. It was great. It's just they didn't think my husband was ready for what they've got going. They thought he was farther along in his Alzheimer's and what their patients were. But they were very nice and I don't have any complaints. I would give them a great rating because their place is beautiful. The community was beautiful. It looked like a nice quiet updated community. The building itself was beautiful. Even on the inside, there are different places for different people. There are places where they eat. And outside their door, they have a place where if you were in the Army, you could have a few things in there with your picture to show that you were an Army vet. A lot of the patients I saw walked around with a walker, but they seemed to talk more than my husband did. I was impressed with their cleanliness and the kind of people that were there. They were dressed the same as we are, so that's normal. I was kind of disappointed, but it is a little pricey for my range anyway so that just made me not be so mad about not getting in there. It is a huge place, so I'm not sure that would have been such a good idea anyway, because my husband is used to more homelike things. It was pretty and everything looked well taken care of. The carpets were clean, and the windows were clean, you could see out of them. I was just impressed with the cleanliness and the friendliness of the other patients as I was walking through. The girl that I talked to was great. She was very informative and very gentle. The people were very kind and considerate. They were excellent, too, and it showed that they liked their job."

"We moved into Bridle Brook Assisted Living because it's closer to where our family doctor is. It's just as nice as all the other places that we visited. The rooms are reasonable size, very clean, and freshly painted. The lighting fixtures are very nice. The staff members seem also very helpful and supportive. Amenities include cleaning up your apartment once a week, laundry once a week if you want, and three meals a day. They have activities scheduled every day. I think there's a shuttle bus that will take people to Champaign. The food is excellent. The facility is lovely. Value for money is fair and reasonable when compared with other facilities offering the same quality of care."
