"I was getting physical therapy and occupational therapy at The Loft Rehabilitation of Decatur. The staff was wonderful. They don't treat you like a child. They treat you like an adult. They're very nice people. It was very clean. My room was cleaned daily. After someone left, everything was wiped down and cleaned. It was just a very lovely place. I was treated with a lot of respect. When I first got there, they thought my knee was broken and the girls worked together well. They had to use a lift on me instead because I couldn't put any pressure on my knee. They used this machine to move me from one place to another. It was always a lot of fun when they did that because we jokeed around about it. Then I got to the point where they said I did not have a broken kneecap and I got to start walking which was wonderful. The food was usually very good. There were too many carbohydrates for my liking. I don't consider peas, corn, and carrots really good vegetables because they're full of carbohydrates. I was fed peas, corn, and carrots quite frequently but I prefer salad or green beans or eggplant, even, and there were a lot of tomatoes. I was treated very wonderfully in there. Everyone was very positive. It was a great place to go. I can't think of it being a dirty place. The people that were cleaning were there every day. It was very well taken care of. It was just a very positive place to go. Breakfasts were great most of the time. I had oatmeal every day, which was perfectly good for me. I didn't get enough coffee. You didn't get seconds of coffee if you didn't go down to the dining room, and I just couldn't go to the dining room. It reminded me of when my mother was in the nursing home and I didn't wand to be reminded of that."
