Piatt County Nursing Home is located in the heart of a lovely well groomed neighborhood in Monticello, Illinois. It has an excellent, caring, patient, attentive staff who all seem to enjoy their jobs. You can choose from a private room, a semi private room with two beds, or a three bed room. All these types of rooms are very nice and very clean with their own bathrooms and large windows that look out onto beautiful, well maintained gardens and grounds. The nursing, dietary, social activity, business office, janitorial, and maintenance staff are all very kind, diligent and helpful. The nursing staff especially are very patient even with the most difficult resident. They all get to know every resident on a very personal level and genuinely care about every one of them. They work very hard to help the residents feel at home. The rooms and hallways are very clean, well decorated, and festive for every holiday. The food choices are nutritious and special needs are accommodated. Residents are gently encouraged to socialize in a variety of daily activities, but are respected when they choose not to. They have several wheel chair swings in shaded areas outside as well as garden areas designed for patients to be able to enjoy the outdoors. This nursing home has successfully avoided the cold, institutional look and feel of most nursing homes by hiring such caring, warm, patient, attentive employees.

Piatt County Nursing Home was awfully small, and they put three residents in a small room together. We knew my dad won't be able to handle that.

The Staff at the Piatt County Nursing Home was very friendly, courteous and seemed to genuinely care for the residents there. Many Nursing Homes smell of urine and/or feces, I did not notice this with the Piatt County Nursing Home. The residents all seemed very comfortable with their rooms and roommates they were rooming with. The meals served were nutritious and appropriate sizes for the individual, they were not "one size fits all", if the resident was still hungry they were allowed to have more if they requested it.The Nursing Home was well decorated for each holiday and had activities daily to keep the residents busy. Each individual and their family were made to feel as if they were at home, family members were always welcome and encouraged to visit at any time of day or night, they even had a "resident" cat that frequently came inside to visit everyone.Overall, I had a very pleasant experience while visiting the Piatt County Nursing Home and would definitely go back again.
