"Really love this place now! I just want to start off by saying that the owners of the Villa West assisted living facility LISTEN! A couple of months ago, after a meeting with several caretakers (children, husbands/wives of residents), concerns were expressed and immediate action was taken. The Villa West was a very different place the very next week. The previous Executive Director was removed and a new ED, Laura,was hired - she is kind, gentle, with a great personality and always a smile. She is very open to suggestions and conversation. The staff now has a "spring in their step" because they are so happy doing their jobs since the previous ED was no longer in the building. The owners brought back several staff who had previously been fired - they were happy to be back and felt like it was a "family" again at The Villa West. The food is more varied and is improving everyday (now have two choices with the promise of more fresh fruits and vegetables) and the individualized care is top notch. The CNAs and nursing staff are all knowledgeable and quite personable. The level of care that some residents receive at this AL facility is mind-boggling compared to the AL facility my mother was in prior to this one. I can't say enough about the group activities that are offered. They have wonderful craft projects, and great cooking adventures every week. Robin is wonderful with the residents. Bingo is a regular activity with great prizes. There are regular scheduled outings to Walmart, the grocery store and individual transports wherever a resident needs to go. The facility is stunningly beautiful from the bistro, the "yellow room" and the courtyard is adorned with a fountain and beautiful blooming flowers, shuffleboard and a putting green. There is an on site beauty parlor, physical therapy room, activity room and game room. I was coming down from Chicago for at least a couple of days a week just to keep an eye on things but now feel very comfortable knowing that my mom is in great hands when I leave to go home. I would highly recommend the Villa West! The old Executive director is gone - now let's move on and make this place the showcase it can be!"

"I went to The Glenwood Supportive Living of Mt. Zion, and it was nice. Dollar-wise, it was a little more than what I was expecting, but I'm keeping it in mind. However, they were kind of in disarray. Somebody forgot to tell somebody that we were coming. They weren't ready for the tour, and so it was a hurry-up-and-get-it-done sort of thing. The place was clean and nice. We didn't try the food there. They didn't offer them, and we didn't ask. The rooms were not as big as those in the other place. They were nice, but they only had one room available. The staff was good. The building was clean, and the structure looked fine to me. The layout was fine, but the bedrooms were a little small."

"This community is clean and workers are friendly. The community is well laid out with ample parking and even small yards. The designs inside the community building are clean and inviting. The hallways are wonderfully decorated with flowers and there is ample space to move around with walkers or wheelchairs. When there are any problems that arise the staff takes care of it quickly and efficiently. Overall a very friendly and welcoming environment for elderly with many accommodations for their various needs. "

"I really like The Villas of Holly Brook. They have a nice apartment with one bedroom, one bath, and a kitchen area. "

"I visited Windsor of Savoy, which is an excellent community. However, the rates are different compared to the other community we visited. They don't even require a financial statement, and they don't take over all of your interest; you just pay a flat monthly fee. They have a waiting list of about six months. They had excellent staff who was very helpful while we were there. I looked over to the units, and we're pleased that they're very well taken care of. The rooms had good appliances, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, a regular stove, large closets, and a storage area available in the basement if you have some extra things. You're also allowed to move in your own furniture. They have a good staff, good dining facility, no pool, but they have a good workout room, and they have a lot of good social activities. Everything is nice and clean, and they have transportation for everybody or garages if you still drive."

"Our tour of Parkview Senior Apartments was great. The building was very impressive and the individual who gave us the tour answered our questions and the information she gave was great. She was very wonderful and very helpful. She did a great job. The room was very nice and very inviting. They have bingo once a week and residents can come down and put puzzles together and play games. They have the flower boxes that the local hospital provides for the residents. That was a very nice touch. So, if a resident wants to have a flower box, they can request it and they can request what kind of plants they want to have."
