Primrose Retirement Community of Decatur was very well maintained, very upscale, it's 2 floors, has an elevator, very large dining room, courtyard, and garages. It's probably one of the top ones in the Decatur area. They provided my mother level 2 care, which meant giving her medication, helping with breathing treatment, and being with her during asthma attacks. They have 24-hour nursing available, and they all did a good job and were very good about communicating with us. They had lots of activities, church services, groups that come and entertain them, groups that women can shop and buy from, and they take them places. It's a very active community, but it's expensive. The staff was good and worked with us over the years.

Primrose Retirement Community of Decatur was very nice and very clean. They had lots of amenities, like a billiards room, an ice cream parlor, and a list of activities for the residents. There was a tier of increasing levels (if needed) for assisted living, so that was nice. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They followed up after our visit to see if we had any more questions or what our thoughts were.

Primrose Retirement Community of Decatur is a very nice facility. It's well-maintained. It has independent and assisted living, so there's a little bit of a continuum of care. It's a smaller facility and it has a lot of the same features as other facilities, but the main attraction was that my aunt had lots of friends there already. She chose a 2-bedroom independent living apartment. We chose a plan that serves two meals a day. They also have lots of good amenities at the facility, good food, a little movie theater, cable, and pretty much everything but the phone comes with the apartment, including housekeeping every other week, a free laundry facility, and covered parking. They also have very nice people. I just wish they had nursing home and memory care in case we needed that in the future.

Primrose wasn’t the first place I went to, but I was impressed and liked the independent living part of it. In fact, I was looking at a two-bedroom because it had an attached garage. I liked the size of the kitchen, the living room, and it had a really nice, full room large enough to be used as a second bedroom if you had something that would fold up. It was well decorated and neutral, which was nice because then you could put anything with it, and it had options for furniture placement. The kitchen was very nice with more cabinets than I would have expected. I was just very impressed.

My description of Primrose, Decatur is a Spacious Senior Living Luxury Resort type home. The facilities are wonderful with great meals, a movie theater, exercise room, ice cream parlor, hair salon, many comfortable fellowship areas through out and a staff that is more than just employees. No matter what their particular duty is they will offer to help with whatever your need is, and with great care and compassion. We are in our mid 70's and live in Tucson, AZ. We have visited senior living facilities in Arizona,, Indiana and Illinois. We choose Illinois to be closer to our four children and their families. Many of the other facilities are nice but when we walked into Primrose we knew this was where we wanted to be. It was like a home and not an institution. They have allowed us to stay in a vacant Vlla to see how this life style fits us. Now we can hardly wait to get back to Tucson to sell our home and move into a Villa at Primrose where we will have access to everything in the larger Senior Facility (Home), yet remain as independent as our age will allow. When we arrived it was apparent that we were expected by Staff and residents alike and that they wanted us to be a part of their community. Kate, their sales director went out of her way to make us feel welcome and wanted; as did the Director, Leslie, the Chef, Tina and the Activities Director, Cathy. I should mention all of the staff but have not learned their names as well. We always felt the entire staff wanted us to feel like we were all just one big caring family. You can have a wonderful facility (which they do), but it takes a caring and loving staff to make it family. If you want to be a part of something wonderful and beautiful, Primrose is where you want to be to have the best quality of life for this time in your life.
