"My sister was in there for about 3 plus months. The staff was wonderful very caring, therapy pushed her, the food left a lot to be desired. And the facility is nothing like the pictures anymore. But I can't praise the staff enough."

"The Gardens at Moweaqua was nice and clean. I liked it. It seemed like a good community. The lady that gave me the tour was very nice and answered all my questions. It was a really good experience. The rooms were nice and really big. Surprisingly, they're bigger than I thought they would be. It's a nice layout. I think my dad will be happy there. They got bingo, a living area, and a dining room. It's just a nice place altogether. There's somebody there 24 hours a day. The only problem my dad has is he falls a lot and he can't get back up. If they will go by and check on him now and then, it'll be a good deal. The staff told me they got plans to renovate some of the rooms, so they're investing back in their facility. The cost of The Gardens is a little bit better than some of the other places that I went to. It works for my dad's budget."

"A very nice facility but short on staff. We put our mother there in April with Alzheimer. We tried taking care of her at my home but it became too much with my 73 year old husband with medical problems. "

"My sister is in Imboden Creek Gardens now; the experience so far is good. She's really enjoying it; she's really happy. The doctors are taking care of her and everything. It's close to where my brothers and sisters can go out and see her, so she's really happy. She has activities and exercise, and she also has doctors who come in. We can also go in the place to see her and talk to her. I like them: the service, the excellent staff, getting things done on time, and giving me feedback. The client is happy, and that's what we are looking for. They have a library, hair salon, exercise -- they have it all."

"My mother was at Heritage Health Therapy for quite a few years in the Alzheimer’s unit, so we were familiar with that, and dad was just there for rehab. The cleanliness and the kindness of the staff really stood out. She was in a private room for a while; she has a private bathroom and very nice big open window, and she could bring personal things in. There is a telephone in her room. Meals were included while she was there, and the food portions were good. She can order whatever she wanted. "

"I don't really care for Capitol Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. My friend's room was fairly spacious but it was far from being clean, it was kinda dirty. They could improve on cleanliness and if there's something they can do with the smell. I met just a few of the staff there, some of them didn't seem like they really care for their jobs. They could also improve on some of their help because they weren't doing their jobs. When you first walk in it feels homey, but once you get in there and get to the care part, it feels like an institution."

"I am a resident of Illinois Presbyterian Home. I just like the staff and the way they care for the people who need care. We have very good meals. They cook and the independent people have to go to the other building to eat. If you don't want to go outside and eat, you wouldn't like independent living. But I think the nursing staff does a good job of taking care of the people that live there. They have a library, an activity director, and she does lots of things with the ones that live in that building. We have exercises in both buildings. I lived in two other communities, and Illinois Presbyterian Home was more my type, and the cost was not as high as where I moved from."

"I recently placed my mother here. The management is very nice and attentive to us. I eat with my mother often and the food is very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the food being so good being it is a nursing home. The activities are wonderful. They involve the people that live there and are sweet to them. I have enjoyed seeing the updates to the building and hear there are many more to come. Oak Terrace is a blessing to my mother and our family. "

"This is a wonderful facility! The staff is very caring and polite...from the office, front desk, custodians, CNAs, nurses, food service. The facility has no smell, it is well lit, roomy halls and rooms, and good sized bathrooms. Nicely decorated rooms...more like a hotel. It is always clean and the staff is extremely helpful. They will treat your loved one with the respect and dignity they deserve in the final moments of their lives. Keep up the good work...you have a very difficult job but you are greatly appreciated and not often told so!"

"My aunt is in the Bridge Care Suites right now. We like the place. My aunt is flourishing. She's 96, and she's doing incredible there. The food is very good, and the facility is very clean. The people who work there are wonderful. For a skilled care center, it's a very warm environment. It's not cold like some of them. She's always busy with activities. They have activities and play cards. There are common spaces. There are little alcoves. They have short term rehab, and they have nursing. My aunt is in nursing care. They have on-site rehab, so she's getting exercise and getting stronger."

"I toured Concordia Village, and that's where I want to go when I can't live by myself anymore. It is the most expensive place that we toured, but it was also the nicest. It had a saltwater swimming pool, a movie theater, a place to get your hair done, and a little shop where you can buy extra food and all kinds of amenities. The people were very, very nice. The grounds are huge and immaculate. You could have a studio apartment, which is very small, or you could have a one-bedroom, which opens up into a courtyard. It also has flowers and a little garden that is accessible from your room if you have a patio. They also have several spaces for people who want to have independent living. They also have a skilled section for people who need skilled nursing, but we didn't tour that part of it. It was wonderful, and I would like to go there when I have to go someplace. You can bring your car, you could have pet if you want a pet, and they have all kinds of activities. They have planned trips. You're free to come and go as you please, and you're free to have visitors whenever you want. After 8:00 p.m., they have to come through the main door, but other than that, they can come directly to your room from the side passages. They have a swimming pool that is really lovely. It is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a lifeguard; after that, you have to bring your own lifeguard. The food was a "five." They have their own chef who makes special meals. They have really good food."

Our entire family appreciated the care that was provided at Lewis Memorial and would recommend this facility to others."

"My wife is currently living in The Villas and they've been really good. She was in a different community before where the food was whatever and the staff had a lot of turnover. However, The Villas has pretty good food all the way around. As far as working on therapy, they are excellent. The staff members have all been caring and efficient. They've been there and they do what's needed. The one thing I would suggest is to make the entrance more accessible for people in wheelchairs. Other than that, the place is clean, neat, well lit, and well maintained. They have activities every day and they try to keep the people pretty busy. They bring in music, singers, speakers, they play bingo and games, and there are parties in the afternoons. They do a lot."

"My mom is at Prairie Creek Village. We have only seen her once there. She was in isolation of course for a couple of weeks, but she seems to like it there. They seem to take decent care of her, so I'm happy with that. However, it's a hard place to get a hold of my mom. I know they're busy, but a lot of times they don't answer the phone, and that I did not like. She is on the fifth floor. We would meet with her downstairs. They would bring her down in the lobby. There is a double door, and then there is an entryway. We sit there and she is on the other side of the glass. I have not been in there to see their activities, but they said they do them. My mom is on the dementia floor and they have different activities there. They probably have bingo and games. It is a big, tall building. It looks nice outside. The inside is clean from what I've seen. The staff seems to be nice and fairly knowledgeable. They seem OK. I have not really seen that much of their facility. We can't get in there to really look around it, but it looks OK. I think all nursing homes are overpriced, but they're probably average."

"I was getting physical therapy and occupational therapy at The Loft Rehabilitation of Decatur. The staff was wonderful. They don't treat you like a child. They treat you like an adult. They're very nice people. It was very clean. My room was cleaned daily. After someone left, everything was wiped down and cleaned. It was just a very lovely place. I was treated with a lot of respect. When I first got there, they thought my knee was broken and the girls worked together well. They had to use a lift on me instead because I couldn't put any pressure on my knee. They used this machine to move me from one place to another. It was always a lot of fun when they did that because we jokeed around about it. Then I got to the point where they said I did not have a broken kneecap and I got to start walking which was wonderful. The food was usually very good. There were too many carbohydrates for my liking. I don't consider peas, corn, and carrots really good vegetables because they're full of carbohydrates. I was fed peas, corn, and carrots quite frequently but I prefer salad or green beans or eggplant, even, and there were a lot of tomatoes. I was treated very wonderfully in there. Everyone was very positive. It was a great place to go. I can't think of it being a dirty place. The people that were cleaning were there every day. It was very well taken care of. It was just a very positive place to go. Breakfasts were great most of the time. I had oatmeal every day, which was perfectly good for me. I didn't get enough coffee. You didn't get seconds of coffee if you didn't go down to the dining room, and I just couldn't go to the dining room. It reminded me of when my mother was in the nursing home and I didn't wand to be reminded of that."
