"My mom is in Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center which is a skilled nursing home. They offered everything as a normal nursing home does, but they happened to have a unit for memory care for people with dementia. She's in a locked unit, which means you have to have a code to get in and out of that particular section of the nursing home. And the reason we went with that is because of her aggressiveness, we just didn't want any injuries. We had to put her somewhere where she would be more contained and they could keep a better eye on her. Their staff is friendly, very helpful, and very understanding. I have not tried the food but it looks appetizing and pleasing. However, according to my mother, it's slop, but she's got dementia. But to me, it looks well-balanced. The layout is really good, the traffic seems to flow well and the cleanliness is good. They have bingo, they have times when they can go and listen to music. She doesn't get to go, because she's in the locked unit, but the other parts of the place do. It's one of the cheaper places."

"My father was at Heritage Health - Litchfield, Illinois. I was pretty happy with them for what they provided for him. They had bingo and stuff. The rooms were all pretty nice. My father was there for a shorter time just doing rehab. While he was in there, the therapy was good. The room was clean. They had a seating area. They got an area that is like a courtyard in the middle of it and they had stuff like turtles and things that wander around outside in the courtyard. The residents like to look at it and interact with it sometimes. They had a pretty good thing going. The staff is alright."

"A very nice facility but short on staff. We put our mother there in April with Alzheimer. We tried taking care of her at my home but it became too much with my 73 year old husband with medical problems. "

"Heritage Manor has done really well, and my experience has been great. Everything has been good there, and she is getting good care. The best thing is that it is close to my house, because within five minutes I'm there. They play bingo, and they have people that come in to play music. They play cards and all kinds of stuff.
