The Best Nursing Home Communities in Clinton County, IL

"My father moved to the memory care unit in Lebanon Care Center from another nursing home. In the month that he has been there, my family has been very pleased with the care. While it's not the fanciest, best looking showplace that some other homes are, the staff and personal care that the residents receive have been exceptional. So many homes focus on providing the necessities and forget about treating the residents as individuals. We've been impressed with how they are attentative to the little things that makes life happier for my dad. They show genuine interest in their residents hobbies, mental outlook, and quality of life. Each month they host a family event where they residents can get together with their family and have a good time. July was a "Christmas in July" party honoring Veteran's. They served refreshments, had a wonderful sax player, and gave small treat bags to all the residents. The staff was smiling, happy, and went out of their way to engage the residents in moving to the music, dancing, etc. It was awesome to be able to share that with my dad. "

"Cedar Ridge is by far the best. My husband is a resident of the facility. Making the decision to place my husband in a facility was heartbreaking. The staff was incredibly caring, loving, patient and kind making the transition smooth. We now have an extended family. He has now settled in, and is thriving. Cedar Ridge is the very base "

"My husband is at Terrace on The Park. So far everything has been very good. People are very friendly and nice. The food is good. The only problem I have is that it is not in the town where I live, and it takes me 25 minutes to get there. It’s an old facility, but it seems to be good. They have a lot of activities, but he does not participate in most of them. They have bingo, entertainment every week, and ice cream socials in the afternoon. They seemed to be pretty good about their activities. I would really enjoy those for my husband if he can participate. "

"They don't send me information on upcoming events. They ask me to schedule my mother for appointments and ask me to take her. I work 40 hours a week. It is very difficult for me to get off work. The change over is very high. The facility is an hour away. I go at least once a month to visit my mother, and always on the weekends. The staff makes comments such as, well hasn't it been a long time since you've been here. "

"I visited a friend at Hitz and was surprised at how spacious the rooms are. I decided to stay and have lunch with my friend and it was actually a pretty good meal. Staff was very helpful and nice. I left when Bingo started seemed like everyone enjoys bingo, there was several smiling faces. "

"My husband is in Alhambra Care Center. The staff has been very nice. The food looks good. It isn't up-to-date like the other ones. It's kind of old. They've got him on all the medicines exactly like his other neurologists had him on. They have a dining area. Out in the front, they have an area that they can go outside. I thought the price was more than it should be."

"Great place, Great staff. I moved my family member to Fireside House from another local nursing home due to poor care. I had heard that Fireside House had excellent staff and gave great care. I learned that these things are true. It may be an old building and not as fancy as some may want, but the care was amazing, and really isnt that what we all really want? They are so attentive. Never did I ask a question and not get an answer. If they didnt know the answer, they found out. Everyone is so friendly, always speaking to everyone that comes in. they make you feel wanted and liked and welcome. Like you are part of their family. they make it clear that you dont have to worry about your family member being taken care of. Its obvious that they are! I wish Fireside House had been my first choice."

"My great grandmother was in an assisted living facility for several years and I visited her many times during that period. The staff was very courteous and attentive. They took the time to get to know each and every person in the facility and attempted to suit daily activities to each person's needs as well as their likes and dislikes in order to provide a more comfortable experience. The d̩cor in the facility was drab and dull. The walls were off white and the rest of the place was brown which lead to a very boring effect. I thought the facility and its members would benefit from having more color and livelihood, perhaps more plants. The amenities provided for each person was excellent. Members were able to receive cable television in their rooms, if they so desired. Also, the facility had weekly games/activities for people to participate in, if they could. Most importantly, all members were receiving the proper level of care and medication necessary for them. Overall, my impression of this facility was quite good. The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable, which lead to a pleasant experience for me and for the facility's members. "

"My father spent two weeks in rehab at this facility. The staff went above and beyond to keep him comfortable and active. Very friendly staff and the administrator even came to introduce himself and ask if we needed anything. I visited him daily and even though he was part of a bounce back program I would recommend this facility for longer term care as well. The staff and resident interaction was friendly and comfortable."

"Rosewood is a very nice, clean place that doesn't have an odor. It’s pretty big, has nice dining rooms and bedrooms, and fine food. The staff is wonderful. They have bingo, different games in the activity room, and trips. She’s happy there. "

"My husband is in Eden Village. It's very nice. They're renovating, so they have some old rooms, but they put him into a brand-new room. He is very happy there. They take really good care of him. His room is new. The upkeep is fine. Everything is clean. He gets good care. The staff is pleasant. He likes the food. He participates in physical therapy."

"Four Fountains Convalescent Center was laid out well. It has a few separate patient wings, one area was for with low mobility and the other one was for the more active patients. The staff seemed to be adequate, and all the staff members seemed to be professional and caring and they do a good job. I saw the dining area, it was just a large and open area in the building with tables and chairs. The room I saw there was small. The location was fine, it was near a major highway so getting into it was pretty easy. My sister was a resident there before."
