"My mother-in-law broke her leg 2 years ago and had to go to Mckinley Court for rehab. She was there for 3 months, and it was just right down the street from where she lived. It was right across the street from the hospital and right next door to the Y. So, again location was good. She liked it there. She said that if she had to go to a nursing home, that's where she wanted to go. They do some activities with them, but of course, it was a nursing home so people weren't as mobile. However, they do have a nice room we used for her 95th birthday party. They had games that they played with them. There was a TV, and they had about 3 or 4 different places where they could go to eat. There was one, which was kind of a private little dining room. You could go to the big dining room, or you could go in the activity room. They had a beauty shop there, and they had a little shop where you could buy things. We deposited money in the account for her so if we couldn't go and have something that she wanted or maybe she just wanted a candy bar or ice cream bar or something like that, she could just go down there and have it and they will just take it out of her account. That was nice. The people were very nice too, and they made sure that she had whatever she needed and took very good care of her. I thought the staff was excellent, and the food there was very good too. However, when she broke her leg, there were times that she couldn't go out of bed by herself and she needed somebody to come and take her to the bathroom and stuff; it was like everywhere else in that they just don't have the money to pay for the staff that they really needed. Just like in schools, we don't have the money to pay for teachers, so the classrooms were too big. The staff was good. They did what they could; they were just over worked. They had too many people, but not enough workers. That's pretty much the way it went around everywhere I think. "
